I wanted to read a properly written book of Rebecca Lawson, but most of her collection felt like short stories. This one seemed to have better length, so I picked this up. Sadly, this is also written much like a short story, with poor buildup, poor characterization, and the premise containing a thousand loopholes and leaving numerous questions unanswered. Some of the scenes are satisfactory, but not great. The way the story is written, there isn't proper tension we expect in a DD / FLR story. The premise is kind of an interesting take on this genre (though it failed in my eyes), for which I'm rating it two starts. But I won't recommend this highly.
