    Favorite Quotes:

Next to them was that pesky little girl, Sparrow. She always looked up at me like I was a movie star. She was like a sticky booger I couldn’t get off my finger.

People were pairing up now. All it took was a few drinks for a two on the sexy scale to turn into a ten.

Oh Lord, don’t tell me you’re one of those I’m going to wait until I get married types… Take it from me. Try them all out. You don’t want to open a bag of Skittles and only eat the green ones.

    My Review:

I adore Kelly Collins, she has a snarky sense of humor and a clever wit, both of which shine like polished brass in Redeeming Ryker, but don’t expect this emotive tale to be a romantic comedy. Ryker has the outer shell of a bad ass, but he is a wounded little boy inside and the man was truly an altruistic and tender-hearted teddy bear under his scars and tats. The storyline was well-paced and cleverly constructed while the writing was thoughtful, sensual, and unfailingly engaging. I cherished these flawed and fractured characters and will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ryker’s brothers.

Redeeming Ryker was the first book in the Boys of Fury series by Kelly Collins. It was also the first book I’ve read by Collins, but it won’t be the last.

The first chapter was a tough one for me but was important in setting the stage. It took us back to twenty years to the fateful day that was the premise of the storyline. Ryker “Hawk” Savage was eight years old and a tragedy occurred that left him, his brothers and many others orphans or widows. He grew up with anger and guilt as his driving forces.

Collins then took us to the present. Ana Barrett was in her early twenties. She lost her parents in a car accident when she was young and was raised by her grandparents. When they died, she inherited a house in Fury, Colorado. Since she was broke, she relocated to claim the house she owned and start a new life.

Collins then began to weave a saga for two people who suffered loss and were impacted in very different ways, yet were lost souls finding solace in each other. The plot was intriguing with a multi-faceted storyline that kept it fast paced and captivating. Collins also provided some great secondary characters that provided depth, dimension and humor to the storyline.

All in all, it was well written, well developed, humorous, complex and entertaining. Collins will first start with Ryker’s siblings for the next Boys of Fury, but I’m hopeful we’ll get Nates story as well. Until then, Silas is up next in Saving Silas.

Redeeming Ryker is the first book in the Boys of Fury series. This can be read as a standalone but there is a soft cliffhanger ending for the next book. There is violence and hot steamy sex so definitely 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The storyline was predictable but it still was a good read. As usual, things and people are not what as what they appeared or as was expected.

I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the story about Ana and Ryker. It starts with both of them being children (she is four, he is eight) who get caught up in a gun battle that kills their parents. They aren't related, but are born into a biker gang, which makes them family of sorts.

Ryker is now well into his twenties and has lived his whole life thinking that he was responsible for the gun battle starting. His little friend, Sparrow, was killed as well as several others, including the sheriff.

Ana lost her parents in a car accident. She was raised by her grandmother and was now living in a place where she the only place she has to sit is a lawn chair and her bed is an air mattress. When her grandmother dies, she discovers that her grandmother had a house in Fury, Colorado and had willed it to Ana.

Ana was going down in flames. She had no money and no prospects. Her graphic design business wasn't taking off like she'd hoped it would, she was evicted from her apartment, and now her grandmother was gone. Taking the small amount of life insurance her grandma had left her, she moved to Fury and into this house.

Ryker wasn't much better off financially. His brother, Silas, was overseas in the military and his other brother, Decker, had been adopted after the shooting when he was a baby. Ryker is selling almost everything he owns to make enough money to keep paying the private investigator who is supposed to be looking for Decker. Both Ryker and Silas believe that their parents would have wanted the boys to stay together.

When Ryker meets Ana, he isn't nice to her at all. She fights back. She eventually hires him to help her get the house fixed up and make it livable. Sparks fly in another, better, way and changes the paths of their lives.

I have to be honest here. I don't like the bird stuff. I have no aversion to birds at all, but I just didn't like that the people in the story named themselves after species of birds. I don't know why. I just didn't like it. I love the name Ryker and I loved the names of other characters, but the bird thing just didn't work for me.

The story itself, however, was quite good. I thought it dragged a little in areas, but it didn't last long and it was off to the races again. It has a few editing errors that need some attention (Hannah was spelled Hanna at one time and there were a few instances of a word being put in the wrong place), but other than that, this was a pretty good read.

    WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!

An absolutely amazing story of two lost souls who have next to no one in their lives. I was intrigued by this book, not only to read how Ryker and Ana come together but more importantly to learn how the truth finally gets revealed and what the reaction from Ryker will be. And then the truth comes out like bomb and everything you thought you knew about both characters and their past is gone.

The truth about that horrible day was not at all what I was expecting but I was really pleased with the twist on it because I think it made everyone look at what happened differently.

Moving forward....I NEED Silas' and Decker's stories ASAP!!! I'm dying to know what happened to Decker, but at the same time I need to know how Silas overcame everything he went through (or has he overcome it?).

And of course, I'd love to read more about Grace interwoven in the stories!

A guilty conscience, a broken heart and a second chance, lead to an at times confusing but no less powerful emotion packed ride. Redeeming Ryker is truly one of the best stories I've ever read. Ryder has allowed traumatic events of the past to shape his life. In one tragic act, he was orphaned and haunted by the numerous losses from that day. Ana's life has not gone untouched by tragedy. She's suffered in ways she can't even fathom. No memories of her past, Ana lives barely getting by. When a bequest brings her to Fury, her life will never be the same. Kelly Collins brings out the waterworks in this heartbreaking tale of tragedy, hope and mystery.

This is the first book I read by this author, At first I thought I was going to read a story about a gang of motorcyclesin but the story becomes something deeper than that. An amazing book, I got in touch with the characters, and fell in love with Mrs. Charming and even shed a tear. I loved the twist in the story, and the whole idea of the images with the names of the birds. I stayed with the taste of more and waiting for the next story.

This is my first book by Kelly Collins and I loved her style of writing. This was a well-written book that took a few interesting turns. It definitely won't be my last book because I was totally hooked to this book. It did take me the first couple of chapters to really "get into it" but after that, whoah! I highly recommend this book if you like bad boy romances.

    Redeeming Ryker By Kelly Collins

Love and loss, hate and forgiveness, this book covers it all. From the ashes of tragedy rises the Phoenix...
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to seeing what comes next... It has steamy sex scenes but it's all done tastefully. The characters are easy to love and dislike, depending on the situation...the past is difficult to let go especially when you don't know the whole story.

  • Nate

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I loved Ryker & Ana's story. It was hard to put down. And a bit of an emotional read for me. I love reading about two broken ppl...who help heal each other. Awesome book!!! Really starting to become a fan of this author.

  • Suzy (readaholicmom)

    What an amazing story!

  • Ayekah

We meet Ana and her friend Grace as this story opens. Ana is just barely scraping by, a fledgling graphic design business she's trying to get off the ground. Ana is pretty straightforward, unassuming and honest. Grace is all about that next piece of eye candy she can sink her jaws into. Ana's parents were killed in an accident when she was young, she's raised by her Grandmother. Her Gran has had a stroke and is failing quickly, at the same time Ana gets an eviction notice from her apartment. During her Grandmother, she meets with her attorney who gives her a deed to a home she didn't even know about in a town called Fury. Grace packs her few belongings feeling compelled to go and not having many other choices.
We also meet Ryker at the same time, and the flashback to his early childhood, one that he's never moved past. In part because he doesn't let himself. The losses young Ryker experience are overwhelming and while his brother Silas is in the military overseas, they Skype often searching for their youngest brother. The boys were separated when they lost their parents when they were children. And then we have Ryker's friend Nate, who's a piece of work.
As this story unwinds we see Ana arrive at the house, Ryker blow a nut because he doesn't think she belongs there, he's cruel and rude. The saving grace here is the neighbor who makes lemonade, is almost blind and doesn't miss a blessed thing. Astute. Ryker needs money, Ana needs help with the house and so it begins. They're still a little rocky and I expected that. Ana gets a surprise visit from Grace. Secrets are made known and the ground beneath both their feet shakes them.
Great story. I loved the storyline and can't wait for the next book!!

  • Annette

Ryker is a tad dramatic at times but combine that with Ana's story and their history and WOW, this is good!! Great unique storyline that is very emotionally engaging with an excellent set of supporting characters and even some occasional humor that makes this a very well written tale of how deep the connection of soulmates is. Couldn't put it down and can't wait to read the next book in this series!

  • Maria

such an amazing book. I loved it so I read it in a couple of hours couldn't put it down. it was exciting from the beginning till the end. I really liked that you didn't know what was going to happen. I can't wait for the next book in the series

    >Book Review – Redeeming Ryker

    >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the first in the series and ends in an HEA. Ryker witnessed and feels responsible for a terrible tragedy that happened 20 years prior. During those missing 20 years he spent time in foster care and prison. On the surface, Ryker seems like bad news, but once the layers are peeled back and the backstory is told, Ryker is a good guy trying to keep his family together.

    >Ana is struggling to get a business off the ground while paying for her grandmother’s care. She finds she inherited a house in another town, but doesn’t know the significance of the house. This small town of Fury is described like a typical small town. There is some humor in the business names – Diner, Hardware, etc. Almost as if the town couldn’t be bothered to come up with interesting names.

    >Ryker lives in Fury. He feels responsible for the little girl that used to live in Ana’s house dying 20 years prior. He has trouble letting her ghost go and allowing Ana to have the house. The poverty level Ana is used to is so easy to see in how the broken down house doesn’t even phase her. She doesn’t even have a bed. Ryker comes across mean at first, but as he starts to get to know Ana, they quickly fall for each other.

    >There are also some interesting side characters, such as the pregnant best friend and the nosy neighbor. The neighbor is hysterical. She is constantly hitting on Ryker and talking dirty. The story is one of misunderstandings and renewal. The romance between Ana and Ryker is so sweet. There is a bit of conflict, but the resolution is fairly quick. I didn’t like how nasty Ryker would get towards Ana though. He didn’t just misunderstand and then get angry. He said some pretty cruel things to Ana that she seemed to forgive rather quickly.

    >There is also a miscommunication with a waitress, Hannah. Once Ryker realizes what Hannah told Ana, there isn’t a confrontation with Ryker telling Hannah off. I’d have liked to see that. The sub plot involving Ryker’s brothers will be continued in another book, but the little we saw of Rooster was enough to create a lot of interest in the next book.

    >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars. The story never stalled. The characters were compelling and the plot was believable.

20 years ago Ryker "Hawk" Savage witnessed a brutal shooting involving his parents and many others during a meeting between the War Birds and Rebels. Ryker has blamed himself for this and has never gotten over the grief of losing Sparrow, the girl he was supposed to keep safe.

As Ryker returns to Fury he lives above the place where everyone died as a punishment to himself but nothing prepares him for someone moving into Sparrow's place. He wants this girl gone.

Ana Barrett has a degree in graphic design but is struggling to make ends meet and has just been evicted from her apartment when her grandma passes away and leaves her a house in Fury. Desperate for a new start she decides to fix up her new place but nothing gets her ready for her angry neighbour who wants her out.

When Ana hires Ryker the two form an uneasy alliance but the past has a way of coming back when you least expect it to. Can Ana and Ryker come to terms with their pasts to have a future?

Wow - this book was awesome and I loved it!

There are a few things that you figure out right from the beginning and you are just eagerly waiting for everything to fall into place.

I loved Ryker right from the beginning as I knew how much guilt he had over everything that had happened and how he blamed himself for everyone dying. It just breaks my heart what happened to him and his brothers and it explains so much about why he is so angry. He is seen as a bad guy due to being in jail yet when we learn why it's so understandable yet the Sheriff is out to get him but we know why and it makes sense why he is angry as well.

Ana was a awesome and I loved all of the comments that her and Ryker would make. I also really loved her friendship with Grace. Ana had no clue about her past other than her parents being killed in a car accident. Yet she was able to slowly put the pieces together and figure out who she was yet it came at a cost. I loved that she came to Ryker's defense with the Sheriff.

Mona was an absolute hoot and I absolutely loved everything that came out of her mouth! You never knew what she would say but I loved how she had put all the pieces together before anyone else! I can't wait to see more of her in the future!

I am so excited to see what is coming next in this series!!

  • Katherine DiLauro

What a fantastic breath of fresh air! Kelly is a new author to me and has become a new favorite! In this amazing book we meet Ryker. Ryker is the son of a MC prez. He knows that he is going to be taking over the Prez when he becomes of age. One day all hell breaks lose and Ryker's life is forever changed.

In pops Ana and Grace. Ana was raised by her grandmother. She has started her own design company and is trying to get that up and running. Ana is not doing well with the business and is in need of a miracle. She has been evicted from her apartment and her grandmother passes away. I mean this poor girl is just having a hard time. Thank god for Grace. She really is and has earned the best friend title from Ana. After Ana's grandmother passes she learns that she has a house that was left to her. She packs up what she has in order to have a roof over her head. She heads to Fury, Colorado. Little does she know how much her life will change in just a short time.

Ryker and Ana knew they were soulmates from the minute they met. There is this tether to one another that they can't describe.

Silas is Ryker's younger brother who also happens to be the star in the next book (which I am dying for!) They are both on a mission to find Decker. Maybe Silas will actually find himself in the process.

All the characters in this book are great and are very well developed. I am going to be impatiently waiting for the next book. June is too far away!! Kelly a huge high five!! I do need more HAWK and SPARROW in my life!!

  • Margaret Watkins

I haven’t been a huge fan of MC romances, however Redeeming Ryker is an incredibly moving story about loss and redemption. Ryker is living with deep regrets and inconsolable anger with one tender memory that keeps him human in the midst of a life lived in brokenness. Ana has no recall of her early life when her parents died and her grandparents made a home for her. As an artist she is struggling to make ends meet and when it seemed that she had reached the end of her rope, her grandmother died making her realise that there was indeed further she could fall. However, a surprise legacy from her grandmother takes Ana on a new path in life and there she meets Ryker. I loved both these characters and their undeniable attraction for one another. They both struggle against the attraction they feel, without success. Just as destiny has brought them together, so they are fated to fall in love. Whether any good comes of it, remains to be seen. I loved the secondary characters: Mona, Grace, Nate and Silas. Each one had their part to play and the story would have been incomplete without them. The dialogue is hilarious and I loved the wit and banter. However, it is also a deeply emotional story with so much pain that at times it seems that there will be no resolution to their sorrow. I highly recommend this book, provided the reader is over the age of 18. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I’ve loved and devoured The Second Chance- series: Set Free, Set Aside, Set in Stone, Set Up and Set on You of Kelly Collins and now she wrote another series The Boys of Fury which is another winner. I loved the story, it was wonderfully written. Kelly Collins did it again, she wrote a heart-wrenching but also a very hot story about Ryker and Ana. The troubles of their past still haunt them, but together they can battle against it, when they believe in love and make love happen, then even a Fury boy can overcome his anxiety and his doom.
Twenty-four-year-old Ana Barrett knows who she is. She’s a struggling artist, a loyal friend, an orphan raised by loving grandparents. After a string of unlucky events leaves her homeless, broke, and alone, she receives a timely gift from her deceased grandmother—a house in Fury, Colorado. It’s a gift guaranteed to change her life in ways she can’t imagine.
Ryker Savage has always known who he is. He’s a brother, a friend, an orphan, and a murderer. One decision made twenty years ago altered the future of an entire town. At twenty-eight, he’s done his time, paid his dues, and wants to be left to his misery.
When Ana arrives in Fury, she changes everything he thought he knew. His light becomes dark, his dark becomes light, and his truth becomes the lie he’s lived forever.
Ana’s future hangs in the balance. Ryker’s future is carved from his past. Destined to have the two collide, can there be a chance for a future together?

Oh my goodness! This was such a touching story Ryker and his brothers were raised in foster care after the death of their parents - Ana was raised by her grandparents after the death of her parents. Since a massacre at the MC club house that took the lives of many members Ryker has been blamed for their deaths and has carried a large burden. He finds as he grows up that his feelings for one of the children lost in the MC Club house massacre is what keeps him going for day to day. For years he has taken care of the house that she and her family had lived in but one day he drives by and notices someone parked in the driveway. He meets Ana who has inherited the house from her grandmother - he does not like the idea of her living in the house but as time goes by he finds himself needing funds so he ends up working to help Ana fix up the house to live in it. The story has it's moments of laughter and also tears as you are taken through the tragedy of the past and how two people come together to move forward. I enjoyed this story very much and look forward to reading the second book in this set which brings Silas, Ryker's brother into the family and how they continue to look for their youngest brother who was adopted as a baby.

  • Christina Luberts

This story had a lot of meaning on loss of family and forgiving others. You have Ryker and Ana who was born in a biker gang family. After a shoot out that killed their parents and thinking Ana (Sparrow) is dead and his youngest brother can't be found. Ryker takes the blame for everything and is angry all the time. He meets Ana after she moves to Fury when her grandma dies and leaves this house to her. Ana and Ryker keep butting heads, but come to love each other. Friends and family mean the world to both, will they find the happiness they all deserve? I received an arc copy for my honest review.

  • Kim

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. Ana is a struggling graphic design artist who is down and out when her grandmother dies and leaves her a house in a small town in Fury, Colorado. Ryker has survived great tragedy in his life, the murder of both his parents, he and his brothers being placed in foster care and losing his youngest brother in the system, and serving time in prison. He cannot get a break in life. Now with a new lead on the possible whereabouts of his brother he takes a side job to earn money to pay a PI to follow through. It so happens it is working on a run down house that has been vacant for twenty years.

Kelly Collins really delivers an emotional, powerful message about survival, learning to live through tragedy and true love. From page one, I was hooked and read this book very quickly. Each page is full of intensity. A huge tragedy affecting two little boys and a little girl with two different colored eyes. It's a love that never faded.
I highly recommend this book. I can't wait for Saving Silas to release in June!!

    Good quick read!

This was a good book of guilt, redemption and second chances. I liked the characters and the storyline, but my one complaint was it was pretty predictable. I saw the plot twist coming way ahead of time but still enjoyed the book. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

Normally I don’t do reviews. However I just wasted a couple hours of my life with this mess. And maybe this can save someone else.

First off majority of the characters are named after birds. The love story and ending is predictable. The intimate scenes are cringe worthy. Quite a few of the lines were ridiculously cheesy. Fought to make it through it completely. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.
