the bad news is that this guy has had seriously every ailment known to mankind and is going to tell you about it in detail and in alphabetic order (brace yourself for the good times 'scabies' chapter)
the good news is that you probably already own pretty much everything it would take to cure said array of illnesses in your spice cabinet. while i found his suggestions at times a little unrealistic for the urban reader, i must say this book got me engaged in herbs and i reference it regularly for aches and pains and the like. i owe this book a debt for helping me with my serious motion sickness affliction. (ginger is the key!) -
This is a great reference book for herbs and herbal remedies. It explains the uses for each herb (what it is used to treat), information on how it works with the body (why it works), plus warnings about dosage and toxicity. What this book doesn't include are recipes and dosages or applications for specific ailments, so it's best to pair it with a book that provides recipes and information about making salves, tinctures, decoctions, etc., and which applications are best for each ailment. I haven't read the other Green Pharmacy books, but I imagine there's one that goes more in-depth in this regard.

More useful as a reference, naturally, but it's good.
