Excellent faith filled book! The characters were so dear. I was a bit surprised by the little plot twist at the end. This was my first time reading a book from this author and I’m looking forward to book 2, Dixie’s story.

I am so thankful I stumbled across this book and even happier to become aware and acquainted with the author, Lynnette Bonner.
I highly recommend Not a Sparrow Falls to everyone who enjoys reading Historical Western fiction (romance, mystery, suspense, etc.). A 5-star rating is easily achieved by this well-written, well-paced, captivating story.
Many fascinating westerners comprise the cast of characters including the small heroine, Charlotte, who is big on gusto, standing strong, and listening to God.
I adore the faith content! So thankful this author is enthusiastic about sharing the Gospel and weaving an inspirational thread throughout the story that is drawn from a Bible verse!
Big on emotions, faith, and suspense -- each page pulls me deeper into the lives of those in Wyldhaven.
I am so looking forward to reading each of the books in this series! As I write this review, I just discovered that Beside Still Waters, the last book in this series, will be released in August 2023! -
I really enjoyed this Historical Western Romance. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review this. I've given this a 5*rating. This heroine may be on the small side but she sure is gusty and stood up for herself. There a little bit of romance, suspense with bank robbers with a whole gang of bad guys, The heroine just wants to teach school and the hero just wants to help keep his town safe.Without giving anything more away, this will take you on a ride and want you to keep reading. I just had to finish this last night or should I say this morning. Hope to get to the next in the series soon.

If you like a feisty, independent heroine, then Charlotte Brindle is your girl. She is on the rebound from an cheating, low-life of a man, so adventure in Washington is very enticing seeing as it’s as far from Boston as is humanly possible.
The sheriff has his eye on capturing the entire thieving, killing Waddell gang when Charlotte shows up — as a hostage! Both Charlotte and Reagan’s plans are taking a hard right.
Wyldhaven has absolutely nothing in common with upper class Boston and Charlotte was mislead by the town founder on that score, so she often considers returning home after she survives her arrival. Except that Charlotte is drawn to the town’s warm people, starts making friends and is drawn to one very aggravating man in particular.
Everyone is excited to have a school and Miss Brindle as their teacher. Charlotte being a go-getter is everything positive, except for her continual mishaps which are a lot of work for Sheriff Reagan. However, right after a big fundraiser Charlotte organizes and just when school is starting, Patrick Waddell turns up bent on revenge. The sheriff’s heart is involved now and this is his worst fear: what if he can’t protect those he loves? What is he looses Charlotte? Snatch up a copy of Not a Sparrow Falls to get the entire adventure.
Liora has had an extremely hard life and made choices reflecting her low opinion of herself. She is trapped working as a prostitute to pay for her mothers medicine. Liora ponders a God whom Charlotte said knows every sparrow who falls and contrasts that revelation to her own dismal existence. “What kind of God is he?!” she questions. But she is resolved he has no interest in her miserable life and in her despair she takes even more extreme measures. It seems like God and a certain man are about to change things to the positive in the near future. I can’t wait to hear more of her story.
Poor Belle Kastain… I don’t know if any man is really interested in the pretty, curly-blonde, town debutant (if a logging community in Eastern Washington were to have a deb.) But, she has eyes only for Sheriff Reagan and at 16 doesn’t even realize her options are slim to none.
Not a Sparrow Falls is great launch into Lynnette Bonner’s newest series. Wyldhaven has many interesting townsfolk in a small town setting reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie. This historical fiction romance writer is a winner in my book! -
This is the first book I have read by Lynnette Bonner and also the first in her Wyldhaven series which takes place in Washington state. The title drew my attention and faith themes of trust, forgiveness and discernment were beautifully incorporated into the novel. This inspirational book included much action and a developing sweet romance which kept me reading chapter after chapter. I loved getting introduced to the townspeople of Wyldhaven and look forward to reading about their stories as the series continues.

From the first page to the last you will spellbound by Not a Sparrow Falls, the series Wyndhaven Series. Lynnette Bonner has given readers a book that is well-written and well paced, filled it with great cast of characters that come off the pages and pull you into this emotional ride that keeps you involved until the very end, sweet clean story, suspenseful twist and turns, with heartfelt dialogue, and with an enjoyable plot that brings this read together perfectly

This was such a touching story. I love how the title envelopes the entire story. The God cares and loves everyone. Even a fallen sparrow. I'm glad I finally read it and sad I pushed it back. Well done Lynnette.

Not a Sparrow Falls is the first book in Lynnette Bonner's new Wyldhaven series. This was my first book by this author and I can definitely say it won't be my last. I enjoyed everything about this book and can't wait to read the next installment in the series.
I instantly liked Charlotte, the female lead in this book. She seemed so genuine and authentic. I imagined her as someone I could be friends with. I sympathized with her for the situation in which she found herself and admired her resolve to take charge of her own life and not let others dictate what she should do. Sheriff Reagan Callahan was the perfect leading male for Charlotte. I loved the chemistry between these two and loved the way their relationship grew from the beginning of the book to the end. It was a natural progression that was easy to believe. They are one of my favorite book couples of the year!
There is a cast of supporting characters in this book that I can't wait to read about in future books in the series. Dixie and Liora were a couple of my favorites. They have secrets that I can't wait to find out more about. The author has done a wonderful job of creating characters you instantly care about and want to read more of.
While the storyline in this book may be typical of romances and a bit predictable at times there was a freshness about it and enough twists and turns to keep it entertaining. I liked the fact that even though there were kidnappings and shootings and all those things you would expect in the frontier west there was a lightheartedness to the story that made it a fun read.
If you enjoy stories set in the American Wild West then you will love this one. If you enjoy historical fiction and romance then you will love this book. If you've never read a book by this author then I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book. It is a well-written and sweet story that will leave you smiling.

Can she come to love the wild west...
Lynnette Bonner is one of those talented authors who can cross genres, eras, and even continents and deliver a good story every time. The first Lynnette Bonner book that I read was a western, since then I've read romantic suspense, historical romance, etc. so I was tickled to see that in Not A Sparrow Falls she had returned to the genre that first got me hooked on her stories. Everything needed for a rollicking good western romance is present and accounted for in Not A Sparrow Falls; a handsome sheriff, a sheltered Eeastern schoolmarm, nasty outlaws, and one wild stagecoach ride. Any western romance fan that loves a good story with a faith message will definitely enjoy Not A Sparrow Falls, the first book in Lynette Bonner's exciting new series set in Wyldhaven.

How many times have I asked the same question? How many times have I prayed and asked God to lead the way, only to struggle with whether or not I’m following in His footsteps? I could so relate to Charlotte’s doubt.
The sheriff was the perfect hero for Charlotte, even though initially she blamed him for…well, you’ll just have to read the book! I will say that this story tugged me right in, and one particular scene reminded me of a Mary Connealy book.
With some laugh-out-loud moments and just as many “oh, no!” situations, the fast-paced plot and the snappy dialog kept me turning pages, but it was more than that. So many facets to appreciate about this book…the other potential romantic entanglements, a few deep faith questions, and the depth and complexity of the secondary characters, especially Liora and Dixie. I can’t wait to read Dixie’s story in On Eagles’ Wings (next in line), and I hope (hint, hint, Lynnette! Can you please write faster?? lol) we’ll finally learn more about the infamous Liora as well.
With a setting similar to Hope Valley, fans of When Calls the Heart (waving to my fellow #hearties!) will enjoy this book. Just plan to set aside an entire afternoon because you really will not want to put it down!

The wild west was never wilder in this fun western romance by Lynette Bonner. Charlotte Brindle, a young teacher from Boston decides to go to Wyldhaven where she can begin a new life. But, this new beginning just might kill her.
Charlotte is just the kind of young lady that a first new frontier town needs, although she doesn't know it. She is baptized with fire before she even arrives into the town by her stagecoach being fired upon and being taken hostage by one of the passengers. She is ready to take the next stagecoach home, but the town has a week to convince her to stay.
Charlotte was such a sweet young lady who I found to be delightful for several reasons. She is a schoolmarm (just like me); she was able to see past outward appearances and into the heart of people; she is willing to take chances, and she was able to let go of past hurts and trust God and others.
Reagan Callahan is the perfect sheriff for Wyldhaven. He has a gruff exterior to deter culprits, but a caring heart for all of those under his care. How can he help this beautiful, impetuous woman stay safe while she is oblivious to the dangers that are around her? It was so fun to see his relationship with Charlotte develop and change.
I found the people of Wyldhaven to be just the right mix. With wonderfully giving and generous people, I am looking to learning more about the folks of this little town. This is the first book in the Wyldhaven series, and while it can be a stand alone, I was intrigued by the other townsfolk that I have the next book, On Eagles' Wings, on my To Be Read list. -
Awesome first book in this new series.
I have loved this authors historical western books for a long time. I read her first series, Rocky Mountain Oasis and just fell in love with her stories and with the scripture she adds to her books. It's been a while since I've read her books as I have found many Christian and even non Christian authors that write clean inspirational stories but I'm so glad I finally stared reading this series and again I'm hooked and so inspired to read through this entire series. I loved the story as I love historical stories especially the western ones. This one has so much going on in it, it was hard to put down when I had to. I loved the amount of scripture in this and the particular verses and how to know when God is leading the heroine. Thankfully she found many Godly friends and even wanted to befriend a woman who worked in saloon. She even tried to but, her friends kept telling her as the teacher, it wouldn't be good for her reputation to do so.
This is a very inspirational story and one with really bad guys who want to hurt her. It has all the makings of fantastic western romance as well as the danger and action we love in western books, but the scripture and following God was wonderful but lightly sprinkled through the story that I hope every western historical romance reader would still read knowing scripture in in here. This author does a fantastic job with her descriptions and development of characters that I want to read all the books in this series. I highly encourage you to get this book. -
My review today is on the Historical Romance, Not a Sparrow Falls. This is the first book in the series, Wyldhaven. This is the first book of Lynnette's I've read but I really have enjoyed this one. It's well-written, humorous, and full of drama. I know you are going to love it. It's totally delightful.
Charlotte Brindle is being chased by an unfaithful man. She saw him go into a whorehouse. She refuses to marry an unfaithful man. She answers an ad to become a teacher in Washinton, 'a little piece of New England blooming on the wild frontier'. Before she arrives after an almost endless journey, her stagecoach is attacked and she is taken hostage by a thief. So not what she had been told. Upon being rescued she finds only a few businesses and muddy streets. She can't go back home for a whole week. Could things get worse
Sheriff Reagan Callahan is trying to catch a notorious gang when he discovers there's a woman on the stagecoach. He and his posse watch as the gang attack the stagecoach. Their leader is on the stagecoach and has stolen the money from their last heist. To getaway, the leader takes the woman and one of the horses and runs away. Reagan's men go after the gang and Reagan goes after the woman.
Thus begins a delightful journey of these two totally different souls. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and for a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for destruction even in this time of chaos. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life. -
The main attraction here is between Sheriff Reagan Callahan and schoolteacher Charlotte Brindle. But there are so many other attractions that it appears that this may be a rather long series.
The sheriff struggles between his attraction to Charlotte and his desire to send her back to where she came from to ensure her safety. And Charlotte struggles with her attraction to both the sheriff and the townsfolk and her desire to return home because the town is nothing like she was told; it’s not a quaint little town, but barely a town at all.
I love the people but not the time period. The characters are very well developed and likable. Personally I enjoy stories where I could imagine/desire to be friends with the characters – be part of their community. And I’m more of a contemporary reader who does read some historical romance (mainly because it seems to be more prevalent). This particular book did an excellent job of showing just how hard life was. Because of that, as much as I’d love to be friends with these townsfolk, I would not want to be part of their community.
The faith aspect was excellent. It’s hard to find romance books with a truly strong faith aspect. And the struggles between our human nature and what we know God desires is demonstrated very well here.
I count it a plus that the faith aspect is strong. Even if it’s not my personal favorite for the story’s placement in time (late 1800’s), the book is very well written and deserves 5 stars. -

Not A Sparrow Falls is book one in Wyldhaven series. I believe this is my first to read by Lynnette Bonner and hopefully it will not be my last. The story and the characters, both were well written, well developed, and easy to follow. I absolutely loved Not A Sparrow Falls and cannot wait for book two , On Eagles Wings. Ms Bonner captured my heart right at the start and did not let go till the end. This is one of the page turner stories that will have you trying to read faster, turn the pages faster, to see what is going to happen next. There was times when I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. Charlotte Brindle was done wrong by the man she thought she was going to marry, and now she is ready to leave Boston. She is offered a teaching job in the wonderful logging town of Wyldhaven. The stagecoach headed for Wyldhaven is an adventurous trip . What has she gotten herself into? There is the handsome Sheriff Reagan Callahan who loved his apple pie .There are outlaws who will stop at nothing to get what they want. This is a fast paced story full of action, and some clean sweet romance. Is Wyldhaven what the teacher was promised?

Really, really enjoyed this novel.
It's been quite awhile since I've read a Western Romance and I truly loved it.
In Boston, Charlotte is expected to marry the man her parents have chosen for her, but what her parents don't know is that she saw Kent involved in something so horrid she can't even share it with them. She needs a way out. Spying an advertisement for school teacher in the idyllic town of Wyldhaven and applies.
After accepting the position, much to her society parent's consternation, she travels West. Just outside of Wyldhaven, the stage coach in which she is riding, is accosted by a group of bandits. The local and handsome sheriff saves the day and Charlotte. Upon her arrival in town, she is dismayed to find that not only is Wyldhaven not idyllic, it doesn't even have a boardwalk much less a school house or even a church.
Determined to take the next stage coach out of town and make her way back to Boston, Charlie soon learns there will not be another coach coming through for over a week; she's stuck.
A lot came happen in a week. -
This is an excellent book set in the old west at the end of the 19th century. Charlotte has decided to leave Boston for a teaching position in the new state of Washington. Needless to say it is not what she expected. Only a few buildings and no church and no school. Is she going to stay or go back to Boston and have to face her (almost) fiance who was unfaithful to her. The handsome sheriff, along with the kids she has come to know and love, who will not have a chance for an education if she leaves, may be a deciding factor. If she stays she will not only have to deal with inconveniences but some outlaws who are after her as well. Lynnette Bonner is an excellent Author; this book is well written and will hold your attention until the very last page. I can't wait for book number two in this series. Lynnette Bonner writes another great book. Charlotte wants to get away from Boston and away from the man she thought she was going to marry. So she accepts a teaching job in a logging town. The ride in the stagecoach to Wyldhaven has her wondering if she did the right thing. The adventures start.
Sheriff Reagan comes to the rescue more times than one. He's a great western hero trying to keep a good town and doesn't understand why the town would hire a lady like Charlotte to be the teacher.
Great characters and enough adventures and romance, that you want to keep reading till the end. It might even make you laugh.
If you like historical fiction with a western feel you need to read this book.

Not A Sparrow Falls by Linnette Bonner was an amazing read. Yes, this is a multiple POV book, but after a while, you realize that not a detail is mentioned without it having a purpose later. It's worth the time it takes to get used to it.
I loved getting to know the different characters in this book, and how each of the citizens of Wyldhaven adds their own layer to the story. I especially enjoyed reading about Ms. Charlotte Brindle, her journey to the Wild West, and how, even though we may not always understand His plans, God is with us every step of the way. Of course, Sheriff Reagan Callahan added his own spark to this story, but I especially loved his faith and encouragement. Honestly, I have so many quotes highlighted from this book which all talked to me, and at times convicted me, of my walk with the Lord. Thank you, Ms. Bonner, for writing this wonderful story. -
Very good book.
This was a really good christian fiction book. It really brought to light the meaning of God knowing if a sparrow falls would he then not know exactly what was happening with his children. It also brought to light about not judging people or the circumstances they are in as we don't know their circumstances or what is going on in their lives. Just an all around great story about a very young town just starting out and how everyone works together to build the town together all the while trying to listen and follow God's voice and doing what he wants in each of their lives. It also has characters that I am excited to hear their stories in future books. It leaves a mystery to the diner owner and her mother. -
I enjoyed reading this story about a young woman, Charlotte Brindle, who has just discovered the unfaithfulness of her fiancé. She is torn between marrying him anyway to please her mother or leaving home to get away from him. In 1891, there were certain expectations of proper young women, and heading out West was not one of them. However, she reads of a teaching position in the idyllic little community of Wyldhaven, Washington and applies for the job. After being hired, she is still torn between going or staying, with her mother trying everything she can think of to convince her to stay and marry the man to whom she was engaged. She felt God had made the teaching job available to her. Throughout the story, she continues struggling with her decision as one thing after another happens to her. I will leave all the interesting situations she finds herself in for you to enjoy as you read the book. Faith in God plays a large role in the story, not just for her but others as well. As it turns out, Charlotte is gun shy in more ways than one. When the stagecoach she is on nears its destination and comes under attack by outlaws, she finds herself curled up on the floor of the stage hoping to avoid getting hit by the flying bullets. Later when Sheriff Reagan Callahan is preparing to teach her how to handle a gun, she nearly has a panic attack. She finds the sheriff quite appealing at times but she is afraid to trust him because of her past experiences with men. The book is primarily Charlotte’s story but it seems there are several other women with stories waiting to be told. I will be looking forward to reading more books in this series. Lynnette Bonner has written an excellent story involving a socialite from Boston who has been disappointed by not one but two wealthy men. Charlotte obtains a position as a school teacher in the wild west. She is a strong character who faces lots of excitement in her new life but learns that God does care and answered her prayers. The handsome sheriff lives his Christian life and believes in being faithful to the person he loves. This entertaining romance has a deep message. I recommend this historical fiction to others. I received my e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Wonderful new author for me
I had never read anything by Lynnette Bonner before, but I am now a big fan of her writing. This story is full of intrigue and wonder and kept me totally engaged, wondering what was going to happen next. There are a few twists and turns and I can't wait to read more books in this series. I feel like I've gotten to know quite a few characters personally and look forward to how this town grows from here. I was truly spellbound with this story. -
This was my first time with this author. It was a bargain book and when I saw it was about a teacher, I decided to take a chance on it. (I'm kind of attached to my favorite authors and it's hard to venture to a new one.) Aside from a few corny moments, this book was engaging and meaningful. After listening to this story, I checked my Kindle library and found that I already have another book by this author just waiting to be read sometime.
