Leapin' LizardsPet Palooza: A Lizard Primer Reviews

This is an adorable primer, with each lizard starring in a two page spread and named with an alliterative adjective. The colors are a riotous mix of bright, bold shapes that frame each equally colorful lizard.

Now, some of the names are super fun to say (Peppy Pictus Gecko is a favorite) and will trip off the tongue a bit easier than others for those reading aloud and those who repeat or sound out the words from the page, but this shouldn't detract from the enjoyment of those smaller humans.

This is a bright and busy book that I predict will delight my youngest great-nephew in particular. My only wish is that it was made of slightly thicker material, as this is likely to suffer a bit of extra love from that rambunctious, book loving 13 month old.

This review refers to a finished copy received through GoodReads' First Reads giveaway program, courtesy of the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received this book thru a Goodreads Giveaway. It's a board book for young children.
It's a quick read, so I read it multiple times over a few days.
I give it 3.5 Stars - 3 Stars for the words - 4 Stars for the drawings.
This book gives 10 types of Lizards each a two page spread - the drawings are very eye-catching and attractive - then each Lizard is given a one or two word descriptor and identified - like "Charming Chinese Water Dragon". I would have liked a few more words to read to the kiddies.

    Three-and-a-half stars.

Semi-realistic drawings of lizards on very colorful backgrounds (almost too much). Each lizard is named and given a one-word description, such as "agile green anole".
