Do Lucy's breasts get bigger in every volume?

When you start reading shonen manga, the first feeling you have is one of novelty. No superheroes here, saving the day, no ever-resetting plots - instead, young people learning to get over their issues through hard work and with their help of their friends.
After you go through a few series, you start seeing a pattern: hard work, friends. People crying out spell names during fights. Missing parental figures (Bleach - dead mom for the main character, Naruto - dead parents for the main character (and his rival), Fairy Tail - missing dragon father figure, Claymore - dead parents, Fullmetal Alchemist - dead mom, absent dad etc.). Hotheaded young people cheerfully destroying things.
And then you maybe make peace with it and enjoy the details.
Anyway, volume four of Fairy Tail is fun. There's a bit of a trial in the beginning, where people and then Natsu &co. decide to go on a super-difficult, lethal mission of doom on a cursed island, even thought the guild master WILL NOT permit it, in order to prove that they're totally capable of handling super-difficult, lethal missions of doom. Which makes sens, if you're a hotheaded young person. -
Despite the fact that it kicks off a storyline revolving around one of my favourite characters, the Sub-Zero Emporer Lyon arc remains one of the least exciting in the long run, at least for me. A volume that cruises rather than soars, it's still good, but not a standout.

The only reason why I gave this book 4 stars and not five is because this is one of my least favorite arcs in the whole series.
It’s not bad per se it’s just not for me (and my reviews are mainly for me to look back on so that’s how I write things if you haven’t noticed already🤪) -
This volume was better than the previous one because this new arc is actually… Interesting??? This is the Deliora arc, and we’ve got the gang on a cursed island it’s a pretty good time. I was surprised reading this because I thought that this arc happened way later? For some reason? I read this in a speedy hour and a half, so that was wild. At this point since I kind of know what happens next, I’m just excited to see that.
There were two people who had this book borrowed before me, but the next volume has yet to be signed out, so I take it as those people having given up, lol. Smart people, them. If you’re like, in grade 5-6 and haven’t seen/read many shonens, this manga might be up your alley, as it was up mine back then. But if you’re a grown-ass adult… Just… Don’t do it. I’m doing this for nostalgia's sake, so if you don’t have that, then just walk away. If you want to read a good shonen then read
My Hero Academia or
Haikyu!!. Those are some of that good good.

"If we can't keep running full out then we might as well be dead!" - Natsu Dragneel
This book begins with Erza's supposed trial with the Council. Given the cliffhanger that led to the ending of the previous volume, it is but natural for this volume to begin by resolving the issue at hand. But then it took a U-turn when Happy steals an S-class quest from the guild, despite Natsu and Lucy not being qualified enough to use it. The thing about this quest is that it is from the cursed island - Galuna. And the curse is rather strange. The trio don't know what it is but they still begin on this quest (without the permission of the guild, mind you) and that results in a helluva lot complications; complication A being that they aren't ready for it.
The best thing I liked about this volume was the sudden hint at Gray's past. As a character with weird habits, knowing how he worked and why he worked a certain way was a nice change of pace for the series. Especially when there have been countless (mindless) fights in the past. I found the story of the curse rather stupid, though. Or well, not the story but the reason why the "curse" is being inflicted upon the villagers. Lyon's reasons for being involved in this are similar to the ones of an eight-year-old whose toy is taken away from him. It doesn't make sense and is way too stupid. And I really hated him for inflicting the damage that he did on people. He's one of those immature characters that I hope to never meet in my life. -
Erza has to go on a trial which was both terrifying and makes sense then we have a bit of introduction to Laxus and Mystogan, Natsu goes on a S-Class Quest in the island of Galuna where the people become demons sort of and even Gray tags along but when they get the request its weird and they investigate and we find a threat from Gray's past or origin and the demon DELIORA and the personal stakes of Gray are tested here. Its a great introduction to what will be a solid arc and challenge the team like anything. The art gets better with every volume and the demon looks mystifying for sure. The inks certainly compliment the colors and I am loving the fast paced nature of this manga.

i honestly don't know why i didn't like grey more when i first watched this. i'm liking his character even more than natsu, who i used to LOVE

I have been in an on and off relationship with this series. I have loved the anime Rave Master by the same author and enjoyed some of the manga bits by him. (I have never fully read the Rave Master Manga series though I should). That is how i came to this series many years ago.
I first saw the anime and then the manga, but eventually I got bored with it because during those times the big names of Naruto, Fairy Tail, and other shounen series were popular and i was craving something different then the basic formula.
Once in awhile , I would see tid bits of this series and i have to say the future arc is what brought me back to this series (that and i heard this series was going to end soon).
I am happy to say that I kind of enjoy this manga more than i did years ago. Yes, it has many formulaic aspects to it and yes there are many cliches, but honestly I really enjoy the characters. The characters make me want to stay and continue. Gray, Juvia, Gajeel, and Levy are my favorite so its a plus that this volume focuses more on Gray.
I love Natsu and Lucy as well but that's just typical like; I enjoy the side characters a bit more.
When I was younger, the whole fan service and bits of nudity put me off and it still kind of does but i understand that it is there for humor.
PLUS DRAGONS
and I can never say no to DRAGONS -
Book Review : Fairy tail vol 4 January 5-8 S IS FOR SCREWUPS-Class quests are so dangerous that one false move means certain death! Now loose cannon Natsu, rookie Lucy, and nearly powerless Happy have embarked on a stolen S-Class quest, setting out for the Demon Island. Can anyone stop them before they get themselves killed?Review- In Fairy tail there are S class missions but only a few people get to take them but natsu and happy end up stealing one of them and Natsu lucy and Happy go to a cursed island oh and Gray goes to retrive them but they end up bringing him along this one was my favorite so far because we get more information on Gray's past when they get to the island we find out that the island is cursed and the moon is turning purple and they turn into demons so they are asked to destroy the moon . Someone's from Gray's past has shown up and there is the monster that Gray's teacher put in this non melting ice cube but the guy from Gray's past wants to defeat it and it's impossible great vol I loved it this series gets better and better.

You know spending all this time with that classy Lucy makes me wonder if I didn't make a bad choice with Melania. I suppose I sometimes jump into things too quick. One minute you're walking her down the red carpet telling Billy Bush what a nice ass she's got, the next she's popping out this kid who can't even give a decent high-five. Life is full of disappointment. Make matters worse, Dr. Lipshitz tells me I have somethin called "separation anxiety", so I keep surrounding myself with people I can't connect with. She says I never learned to get anybody to actually like me because I always just paid them to. She asked me how this made me feel and I tell ya I spat in her fuckin' face!! HA! Your President doesn't need anybody. Nobody at all. Especially not that twerp Baron. He's been taking up the PS4 ALL DAY! My Fortnite clan is getting PISSED. UGH! #sorryfellas

Solid fun again.
World: Good art that is kinetic and full of character. I like the world building, it's small and there is no info dumping. We get all we need for the story and it works well. The part of other characters as a core is a good thing.
Story: Solid story that deals with Ezra and the dynamics of how the world works. Then the S level quest that dives into the past of Ice dude...I forgot his name. It's good cause it builds him as a character and at this stage it's needed to make readers care. The magic system is cool and also builds the world.
Characters: Solid character work they drives the story. It's not highly original and it's very clichéd but it's solidly written and makes readers care about these characters.
Solid read.
Onward to the next book! -
I like the new arc. I like the story line of this series. I started reading this series because one of the students, at the school where I teach, saw that I was reading
Attack on Titan, Vol. 1 and suggested it. In order to be able to compare the two series, I have been reading this one while waiting for the next couple of volumes of Attack on Titan to be returned to the library.
The characterization is a little simplistic for my tastes, and the art is a little more basic than I like, but the plot is starting to take shape and the new story arc is good. -
Still meh. This volumes is the beginning of a new quest for Natsu, Lucy, Happy, and (initially unwillingly) Gray, but this title continues to remain uninteresting to me.
I wouldn't mind the high-jinks so much if there was a bit more consistency and internal logic in this world. Lucy and co. discover that moonlight is causing people on a small island to morph into weird demonoid looking creatures, and it's later revealed that there's a giant demon encased in ice that is the root cause to all this. The villain of this arc wants to "melt" the unmeltable ice that the demon is trapped in, but can only do so with a specific kind of moonlight that can only be found on the island.
It's just... all these weird details are so oddly arbitrary? This whole world and magic lacks cohesion and I get that it's Fantasy, but it'd be nice if it were rooted in some kind of consistent logic. -
4/5 The first couple chapters of volume 4 wrap up the events from the 3rd. After that Natsu and Happy steal a job posting for a job above their rank. Lucy gets dragged along and Gray goes to stop them but is forced in as well.
The rest of the book is build up to this arc. The party arrives at a cursed demon island where the job is to break a curse terrorizing the locals. A deeper plot is revealed. We see a little action but not a ton this time around. However we do get some good back story on Gray.
Gray, Natsu, Lucy, and Happy on the cover of Vol. 4

I love these mangas, the plot is interesting, the action is present enough and we are always looking forward to see what will come next to the heroes of these books. I can't wait to read the sequel.
J'adore ces mangas, l'intrigue est intéressante, l'action est suffisamment présente et nous sommes toujours curieux de savoir ce qui va arriver aux héros de ces livres. J'ai hâte de lire la suite. -
I love this arc for a variety of reasons, my main one being this is where the story really started to pick up for me. I am also in awe with all the details that Mashima and his teams puts into these illustrations. It is so hard they only very sparingly used toner an the rest is all line work. Truly impressive and I can only hope my drawings skills are half as developed as theirs.
-
We're about to discover Grey's backstory... I'm not ready for this. THERE WILL BE TEARS. I KNOW IT.
-
The little bonus story at the end definitly did it for me. Loved it!
-
Pas le meilleur de la série jusqu'à présent... j'attends la suite pour voir!
-
yeah my bean friends and multitudinous followers, i think i'm done reading this
-
65/100.
Some finishing there
Some backstory that -
Gray is the main character in this volume. (This volume includes a story about Gray’s memories of his rival and teacher.) Therefore, we can enjoy not only exciting battle scenes but also impressive scenes. However, I got a bad feeling against Natsu, Lucy and Happy because they broke rules of the guild.
-
First major conflict with danger. Our heroes might have bitten off more than they can chew. Backstory (Gray’s) keeps us involved, and unable to turn back now that the gas is on.
-
4.5 stars.
This. Was. Amazing. Sure unrealistic at times (like when Natsu, Grey, and Lucy fell off a 3 story building and didn't have a SINGLE scratch on them, despite not having any powers or magic that protects them) but amazing!
I think by the fourth manga I should already have a favorite character and I do! My favorite character is definitely Ezra, I mean look at her:
