On a foggy night on the Scottish coast in 1934, a most unusual visitor arrives at an inn and rents a room on the upper floor. He is colorful and charming and appears to be harmless, and at first the other guests staying at the inn think nothing of his presence, but as the night wears on events take a turn for the worse.
The innkeeper and his guests learn that a series of murders have taken place in the surrounding area and that the police are baffled. In the thick fog that enshrouds the city everyone is a suspect. No-one is safe from the evil that lurks outside the inn.
The police order the innkeeper to lock his doors for the night and bar entry to any potential patron until the morning. But will the souls locked inside the inn live to see another sunrise?

An okay short story, didn't really float my boat.

I didn't have high expectations for this book but I must say that it was fairly well written and it engaged me with this Twilght-zone style. Simple story but really entertaining.
