Piper Perish inhales air and exhales art. The sooner she and her best friends can get out of Houston and get to New York City, the better. Art school has been Piper's dream her whole life, and now that senior year is halfway over, she's never felt more ready. But in the final months before graduation, things are weird with her friends and stressful with three different guys, and Piper's sister's tyrannical mental state seems to thwart every attempt at happiness for the close-knit Perish family. Piper's art just might be enough to get her out. But is she brave enough to seize that power when it means giving up so much? Debut author Kayla Cagan breathes new life into fiction in this dynamic, utterly authentic work featuring interior art from Rookie magazine illustrator Maria Ines Gul. Piper will have readers asking big questions along with her. What is love? What is friendship? What is family? What is home? And who is a person when she's missing any one of these things?

Piper Perish (Sneak Preview) Reviews

The book kept me interested throughout pretty much the whole thing. I always wanted to keep reading but once I reached the end I was mildly disapointed and saw the total book differently.

I received a sneak preview of Peper Perish and I liked it.

Piper is in high school in Houston. She and her two best friends plan to go to New York for art school after they graduate high school. On New Year's Eve, her boyfriend, Enzo, decides he can't be someone else anymore and breaks up with her.

The preview revolves around what happened that night and her tries to get hold of him to make sure their New York dream will still be a reality. This preview was enough for me to know I'd probably enjoy the entire book.

I really liked Piper Perish. The book started a little slow but then, the plot picked up and it was really interesting. All the characters are very interesting and relatable even though they are each going through their own struggles. I recommend this to anyone who likes books about art, friendship and has a strong female character.
