Blind Sensations: The Submission Series Book 1 Reviews

    This was a great book.

This is the second book of Jenny Foshia's that I have read and I quite enjoyed the focus on the senses.

The character goes on a strange date that leads her to willingly put on a blindfold before she meets her date. I would have liked Samantha, the main character, to have asked the mystery man more questions. Even if they were just in her head I think that could have added to the strangeness of wearing a blindfold for the first time, but maybe that's just me. I'm weird. I enjoyed the sensory deprivation a lot, and thought this was the strongest part of the book.

I knew the ending very early on but still found reading to its conclusion was a ton of hot, steamy fun. Foshia's has a way with words and by limiting the character's sight she really enhanced the writing, the atmosphere, and the senses.

I'm quite satisfied I read this and highly recommend it.

I love this story. I'll be thinking about it for a long time. What a fantasy to have a mysterious admirer summon you to his house, blindfold you, and then teaches you how to intensify each of your 5 senses. As her teacher tells her, "You will learn how to see without the use of your eyes." I want this man. What a perfect romantic hero.

If we compare a well written erotic novel, regardless of its variety, as a well constructed cake with many layers joined together by delicious vanilla cream or dark chocolate, then Blind Sensations is one of those petite and tempting pastries that you can take in one bite. While they can't offer you the prolonged exploration and complexity their taste, words and images make for one wonderful reading.

The author Jenny Foshia leads us into a world of tender, sensual domination, a study of all the details we miss as we go along our daily life, blind to the pleasures we can offer to ourselves.

Her main character Samantha is a young, beautiful and talented woman who appears to be the full package. Yet she is also jaded, tired and sexually frustrated. I could definitely identify myself with her lack of satisfaction, just like many single working girls with bad luck in dating. She seems to have the worst kind of friends who keep on setting her up with the least inappropriate male specimens.

After all, why do you need to spend your evenings bored to death or plain irritated when you can bring yourself much more pleasure in your bath tub with a good book in your hand?

In the moment when our heroine is about to give up on love and relationships she gets an invitation for an adventure. A mysterious figure named solely as The Teacher offers Samantha a series of lessons that are meant to help her find her deeply buried desires. She is reluctant at first but that inner need for more than what life can hand her Samantha throws caution to the wind and follows the instructions sent to her by the Teacher.

She is rewarded generously for her trust and bravery and gets more than she bargained for albeit always wearing a silken blindfold. Temporarily deprived of her vision Samantha sets out to experience the rest of the senses under the kind guidance of her anonymous Teacher. The mystery surrounding his persona awakes her acute imagination and dormant sensuality. Yet the romantic side always aspire to know the truth.

After all how can you go back to your ordinary life, bad dates and stale sex when you have experienced higher state of pleasure? Will Samantha become a new, improved version of herself, will she ever take the blindfold off and see the truth?

While I really enjoyed that novella and devoured its content over night it left me craving for more. The writing was fluent, the characters were likable and easy to identify with, the sex scenes were intense and hot.

Yet it all got resolved and tied in a pink bow almost without effort. I wish we had spent more time with Samantha and the Teacher, that she wasn't such an obedient student, that she made mistakes and got corrected. Not that I'd expect any kind of hardcore BDSM punishment in a tender erotic romance. However we always appreciate the happy ending if we had gone through more obstacles. Senses are not that easy to awaken so I wish that the Teacher had spent more time on each individual one. I wasn't too surprised with the twist at the end either.

That is not to say that Blind Sensations didn't leave me with a smile on my face. It is a hot, little read that I recommend to everyone who needs an escape of reality into the kingdom of Taste, Touch, Smell and Sound. The good thing is that this is not our last date with Samantha and the Teacher for the author works on the sequel named Blind Seductions. I look forward to see what she has in store for us.

Hotly recommended for all the single ladies looking for a pleasant read with a glass of their preferred beverage after a long, tiring day.

    A Sensational Read

I love the fact that reading a book grants you permission to escape into a fantasy that you could or would probably never indulge in, in real life, for whatever reasons - whether it's fear of the unknown, or fear for your safety, or just lack of opportunity. It's such a fabulous escape, and such a great way to explore within the safe confines of your own head.

The author does such a fabulous job of articulating her main character's dissatisfaction with the sad state of the adult dating scene, and the pressures that friends and society put on her to go along with the charade, even though it's clearly not working for her. It sets the scene nicely for why an otherwise rational and "normal" woman might take an unknown man up on a both risky and risqué offer to travel to his house, alone, and submit to blindfolded lessons in seduction, using the five senses as a catalyst for play.

Boredom, dissatisfaction and a yearning to explore something exciting and a little bit crazy and scary can be powerful motivators. Luckily, as this is a sensual and steamy romance, things turn out rather well for our girl and I can't wait to find out how the story progresses in book two.

There are some minor editing issues: typos, omitted words, or wrong word used, but they really do not detract from what is a very sweet, hot and fun little story. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a light hearted evening escape that will engage all of your senses.

    A wonderful read!!
This is the first story, I have read by the author, Ashlee Shades and I loved it. She now has another fan. I will be adding more of her books to my TBR. I could not put the book down until I had finished it.

The story flowed beautifully. The scenes were described well and you could feel the emotions from the main character, Samantha. All of the characters were likeable and the sex scenes, were arousing, hot and intense.

Samantha has had a string of unsuccessful blind dates, which her friends had arranged. The men were either too young, too old or just self centered. She decides to give up on dating and concentrate on her career.

Whilst at work, Samantha recieves and invitation from a man who refers to himself as The Teacher. She finds herself later that evening at his home, blindfolded and still no clue to his identity. He explains to her that they will go through a series of lessons, from taste, touch and hearing. He will show her desires that even she didn't realise she had. If she is successful in the lessons, she will be rewarded.

Samantha soon finds herself experiencing desires she did not know she had. She craved his touch, his voice, his smell. During the last lesson, Samantha is finally rewarded, but she still doesn't know The Teachers identity.

Will he finally reveal himself? Will this continue after the final lesson? You will have to read it for yourself, to find out!! I recomend this wonderful story of self discovery.

Samantha has had her fair share of blind dates. Too young. Too old. Her life is unfulfilled…that is until she meets the mysterious man who calls himself Teacher.

Ordered to meet him at his mansion, Samantha is taken through a series of lessons as his student. From taste to touch to hearing, the skilled teacher shows Samantha what she has always clearly been craving. He tells her she doesn’t know herself, that she doesn’t know her desires. “The desires I’ll teach you run deeper and are a part of you that you do not even know, yet.”

And she does learn under his skilled tutelage. With each experience, she falls deeper into sexual seduction, lust, and an attachment she didn’t expect.

But she is forced to wear a blindfold, heightening her experiences, heightening her cravings, heightening her madness for more. He brings her to the brink over and over again, while never allowing her to see him.

By their last lesson, Samantha is finally rewarded, but will he reveal himself? Is it who we expected? And will it turn into more than a mere series of lessons between teacher and student?

Hot, erotic, and beautifully painted scenes, Blind Sensations left me craving for more, right along with our heroine!

    Blind Sensations

What a fantastic book this was. It was a sexy, 🔥🔥🔥, steamy read. A woman who dated men who didn’t do a thing for her and then she received an email to meet a man at his residence to discover her desires. After three meetings she was dying to have sex with him, but being blindfolded she never got the chance to see who it was. Then he sent her one more email to have one more meeting to meet him because he himself couldn’t get her off his mind and wanted to offer her the chance to see him. It was an interesting story but you have to figure out who he is on your own. 😂😂😂

    Good start. Good read.

Fed up with wasting her time on the merry-go-round of blind dates, all of which seem to end disastrously, Samantha decides she's had enough and turns her concentration to her work. That is until she receives an intriguing e-mail, an invitation that infers the sender might just change her life. Grudgingly she follows the instructions and so begins a journey that teaches Samantha how to make the most of her senses, all of them that is except sight. Each 'lesson' is conducted with Samantha blindfolded and she has to learn to trust her remaining four senses and if she follows her teacher's instructions, she will be rewarded.
An interesting take on how to really connect with someone in a world where too often we don't take the time to stop and smell the roses, and one that worked surprisingly well. I thought that the narrative flowed nicely, Ashlee has an easy style and the book was a quick, yet really enjoyable read. I found myself hoping that her teacher was one particular character. The 'supporting cast' were great too, they fleshed out the story and grounded Samantha in a believable world.
The story ends on a cliff hanger, but a nice one!

    Sensory Deprivation Brings Sensual Elevation...

Yes! A beautifully written book about a women who has grown tired of dating and the lack of fulfilment in her personal life. She no more than swears off of these encounters then she is sent an e-mail with an offer she can't refuse! A man, known only as The Teacher, has offered to teach her how to utilize her senses to a most rewarding end.
Taste, Touch, Scent and Sound are all on the table during a series of Blind dates.
Would you be brave enough to wear a blindfold while a stranger gave you instruction? After reading this, I would seriously consider it!
All the characters in this book are likeable and the office could be in any city. It adds a spicy fantasy to anyone commuting to and from work each day.
This is an over 18 read. It is tasteful and sensual and ends in a cliffhanger. I am rating at 4 stars as it won't go on my TBRR shelf however, I am going to look for book 2 right now! Enjoy!

    A feast for the senses

Ashlee Shades has written an original story with a premise so fresh its remarkable. Samantha is very symbolic of many of us today. But when we take a step out of our comfort zones OH the 'lessons' we can learn from the right 'teacher'.
