First of all I would like mention the thrilling elements of the book. A creative plot.beautiful writings by sahri lapena and the characters potrayed is very well . I would like to give a big hug for authors prespective of narration . But another side of the bottle from starting till to the pre climax this is like sitting on a roller coaster , but in the end this doesn’t satisfy me and it’s not at all convencing it’s my opinion.but yeah this is must read book for readers who like thrillers everyone out there. Switching to the next strangers in house from this auther.

U početku previše sporo teče radnja pa i nisam imala prevelika očekivanja. Mnogo bolja od neznanca u kući zbog konstantnih preokreta radnje od stranice do stranice. Drži pažnju i tera na čitanje ocena 5 :*

By the time I started reading this book, I'd already heard some positive feedbacks. The plot seemed to be kinda interesting, the title of the book was promising... I hadn't had to think twice before adding it to my to-read shelf. Well, it was not far as good as I hoped it would be.
A young couple goes to their neighbour's house to a birthday dinner, leaving their little baby daughter home alone, checking on her every 30 mins or so. Yet somehow she disappears during the evening and the investigetion starts. Up to that point, it was a good book.
But afterwards, the plot became a bit too changeable, not gripping enough, and the ending was a complete disaster. Like - open endings are cool, I love them, but only if the author knows what is he/she doing. And this is not the case. ¨
In the end, it was a fine average book. Nothing too deep. Nothing too appalling. It may even be a fine story - but only if your expectations are not too high. And I lost it at this point. -

You've got to be hard-headed and have nerves of steel to make it till 300th page of this book. The first time the book from Shari Lapena landed on my hands and it never faltered in any way(!).
SPOILER:
The story is about the baby girl kidnapped by her own dad just to get millions of money as a ransom from his father-in-law and consequently to get his business thrive again and then he would get his baby back and no one gets hurt. But his plan goes terribly wrong, goes awry in fact, his accomplice gets killed, he is blackmailed by his neighbor living in the next door, his father-in-law manipulates him all the way along leaving no inkling, his wife-Anne discovers his betrayal for a) betraying her with the woman living the next door; b) for taking her (their) own child from crib, and witnessing his wife being being accused of sth that she'd never dare think of. Anne is torn apart and feels her blood being drained from her extremities when she finds out her step-father has a lion's share of implications in this horrible crime and in fact he planned all of this, manipulated her husband, making him beg for money and turning him down. Yes, her step-father was behind all of this.
Beautifully told, conscientiously crafted story that will make your hair curl. Can't wait to delve into her second debut novel, "A Stranger in the house". -

Einfach klasse! -
This story is about a baby being kidnapped at night.
I seriously found this domestic thriller so creepy!
I really enjoyed every single of the page.
I definitely loved this book. I thought it was very captivating.
I highly recommend this novel to those of you who like domestic thrillers, if you like reading complex plots.
It has also interesting characters with plenty of mysteries. You will see that, in the book, everybody had something to hide... -
I have not read a book for almost 2 years, it was lovely getting side tracked again.
This was such an easy read.
It kept me on my toes and took an unexpected turn near the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice quick read.
Marco and Anne are entertwined in a bed of lies.
As things progress you are naturally shocked at what comes out.
What does the end hold?
You need to read it! -
I started this book on holiday after an impulse buy in my local bookstore. I can honestly say I have never been more excited about a thriller. Each chapter revealed more and more plot twists that literally made me gasp out-loud.
I actually struggled to put down this book and engage with the beautiful scenery of Spain.
I would 100% recommend -
I read this book because I was told once you picked it up you couldn't put it down , unfortunately it was a big let down, I guessed all the plots before reading them so nothing was a big surprise. It really disappointed me and was very far-fetched to the point I was going to stop reading it half way through and by the time I got to the end I wish I had.

This book was quite intriguing to read to begin with where I couldn’t put the book down, but eventually, mid way through the story plot the book became quite predictable. All in all, It was still a good read that was fun and quick to finish!
-
Really enjoyed this book even though it was a little predictable… the author leaves you plenty of clues to who did it and alludes to the solution despite the attempts of deception. Nonetheless, I do recommend this reading as it is really gripping and enjoyable! Thoroughly enjoyed it ❤️
-
I absolutely loved this book. I was recommended it by a friend who said she read it in 2 nights. I found myself doing exactly the same, I was completely drawn into the story from page one and I needed to know how it would play out.
-
Too predictable. There are many repeats throughout the whole book, in just a few pages apart. The "twist" wasn't unexpected and I found it really hard to keep going. I read it on a holiday where I had no access to other books so I powered it through but was not impressed at all.
-
Had this on my TBR pile for ages and just got round to reading it. This is the best book I’ve read in months and I can’t wait to get my hands on all Shari’s other books.
There were lots of twists in the story that kept me engrossed and hard to put down. Very clever 👌 -
just finished this book a brilliant read with lots of twists and just when I thought it was becoming predictable it changed gear.

Entertaining.... good to refresh German vocabulary...
