Initial Thoughts Upon Completion: Oh, wow, the second part of this book was enthralling and it kept me on tenterhooks the whole time! Epic finish to this wonderful saga.
Full Review:
I am still trying to process all my feelings on this book. Without a doubt, for me, this book was the most emotional of all. I felt everything - pain, longing, lust, devastation, anger, love, grief... man, I could go on and on. Great job on wrenching emotion from the reader, Elisa!
So, fair warning - this review is likely to be a little rambling and a little spoilery. I've tried my best not to mention anything directly but there are a few parts that might give some stuff away. I don't like mentioning spoilers in reviews but sometimes (when I feel really emotional after a book like I am now) I find I have to discuss certain things in order to properly convey my thoughts and feelings. Read on at your peril!
The first part of this book was a little slow. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it as it was full of romantic /sexy times and I continue to love Gevan as a couple but the pace did pull me out of the story and I found myself skimming over repetitive interiority and redundant descriptions. Then we enter into the main part of the story and HOLY COW the second half was ON FIRE. I could hardly tear my eyes away from this section of the book as the action and the tension escalated.
Gemma was horrible when she transformed but I actually liked her more. Go figure. She had more backbone and the strength of her convictions. I have always felt she was a bit whiny and all "damsel in distress" and I was sick of Evan having to protect her until Brokenhearted when she redeemed herself by her sacrifice.
I felt Evan's pain at her loss and I especially loved his chapters - I prefer his voice.
The section in Hell was awesome. I wanted to gouge Devina's eyes out for her continual attempts to seduce Evan but it added great tension. And then she sidled up to Gemma - so manipulative! A brilliant evil villain!
I have to talk about Ginerva because she was exceptional in Expiation. I didn't care for her much in Touched but her character development is one of the best in this series and I really loved her spirit, her bravery, and her compassion. Simon was great too.
While the twist with Peter was a good one, it didn't really go anywhere apart from adding some further ammo for Gemma to torture Evan. I continue to believe all the high school scenes add little to the plot or character development and they could be cut without losing anything.
The battle scenes with the witches were EPIC and I loved them. I also loved how Evan never gave up fighting for her. As if I couldn't love him any more!! He was relentless and my heart broke for all the heartache he endured.
The world building, creativity, and imagination were fantastic in this book. I love when an author factors in the minor details and Elisa did that there. Oh, I also loved the seductive nature of the witches and the sultry scenes with the soldiers and champions - nice!
(I did mention I would ramble, right?!!)
I was a little disappointed that Gemma didn't remember Evan. When she did, it was too sudden and it was because of Simon not because of the soul connection she shared with Evan. I am a believer in true love so I would have preferred if this aspect of the plot had gone in a different direction. The other thing I was upset over was Liam. Gemma showed little regard for him in this series and that bugged me as a mother. Evan was marginally better in his behavior, but I would have preferred more focus on his importance. When that twist happened with him, it hit me out of the blue and I sobbed my heart out. So glad that Elisa made it right in the end but I still felt an acute ache in my chest while reading those scenes.
Gemma made the ultimate sacrifice in the end and it was really fitting. The epilogue was great, if a little rushed and not everything has been closed satisfactorily (can't believe where Simon and Ginerva end up) and I'm all kinds of curious over Liam! I know Elisa is writing a spin-off series and I'm beyond intrigued to discover what and who it's about - is it Peter? Is it Simon and Ginerva's story? Is it something to do with Liam? I know I can't wait to find out!
And another great series comes to an end. It's been a rollercoaster ride of heightened emotions. Thank you so much, Elisa, for a great conclusion to your Touched Saga! I look forward to reading what you write next. -

Tears!
This whole saga is amazing! From the first to the long wait for this last book I just needed more and couldn't stop reading. Evan and Gemma's love is just so strong and they go through so many obstacles to just try to be together. With this last book Expiation, Evan's world falls apart just as he gets over his doubts and things seem to be working out. Little by little he loses everything that he worked so hard to protect. It left me in tears at some parts. So glad I came across this saga. -
Io non ho parole sensate in questo momento... Non posso credere che sia finito tutto, non sono pronta!

Great Ending to the Series!
I rate Expiation 4.5 stars.
I kept asking myself, how can this series possibly end with a positive outcome? It's a rough ride!
The first 30% is adult. No doubt about it. That out of the way, it's a very emotional book, packed with lots of good vs evil action. It takes several sad twists, making it difficult to read (I just wanted to throw my Kindle at a few points,) BUT rest assured, there is a happily ever after if you hang in til the end. It was so good I actually cried a little. Ha ha! Then there was a very creative twist at the end, which I enjoyed very much. Looking forward to Amore's Touched Series spin-off.
This is not a standalone book, you must read the entire series. I would consider it YA, NA, Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance. Recommend it to fans of these genres. -
This entire series leaves you wanting more. It is well written and I promise you won't be able to put it down. You might plan for a weekend of seclusion, because you won't get anything done until you've read through the entire series!

Absolutely Fantastic!!a
I have adored reading this series! I am so sad to see it end. I will definitely be reading this series over and over again! Until next time.... -
This series was really addictive and the finale was better than I had expected.

I couldn't put this series down.
I can't say enough praise for this series or this author. It had me gripped from page one with a loveable character called Gemma who loved wholeheartedly. Then enters the mysterious Evan who instantly caught my attention and devotion. The characters are believeable, sexy, kind, loveable and just very well written. I shall be reading more from this writer.
This book had me laughing in parts but sobbing my heart out in others, such an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this series or the author. -
I was very disappointed in this book. I was expecting a lot more. It was hyped up, and I think as fans, we were let down. It felt rushed because it was a final book. This final book felt a lot more like fanfiction than it did anything more. It wasn't true to the story. Evan and Gemma's love was an EPIC love, and when their eyes first met in Touched, it was so intrinsic that it connected their souls. Neither one could stay away from each other. In Expiation, I saw their animal nature come out in such a way that all Evan and Gemma could think about was sex. Sex in the school, in their car, in the locker room. He dragged her into the boys' locker room and when someone saw her practically naked, he nearly went nuclear when it was HIS fault. After Liam's birth, he dragged her away again in the hopes of sex. I was sorely disappointed that many of the characters had to constantly remind Gemma that she even HAD a son. And then when Liam died, Evan just accepted it. He didn't even attempt to wreck the world as he would have for Gemma. Instead, he went to Hell for sex with Gemma. And he didn't even try to tell Gemma her child had died. Not only that, but she felt NOTHING for Evan once she turned. I understand that Sophia herself turned Gemma with her Venom, but the soul shattering love that Evan and Gemma possessed should have had SOME impact on Gemma and her ability to fight through the venom. They needed no memories to feel the love that should have been written on their souls.Instead, she bowed to Devina like a dog. And Gemma HATED Devina as a human, so as a witch that should have been heightened. And it was only after Gemma finally gave herself up and died that Evan lost his mind and began to destroy everything in sight. The sacrifices made in every book leading up to Expiation were made in vain. So I think this book really fell flat. The only thing I really liked about this book were the battle scenes. I really liked those. It is a sad disappointment. There was no emotion through-out this book except lust. The love we all felt leading up to now between Evan and Gemma, and the love they SHOULD have had for their son but didn't, wasn't there.

Wow.....
I am speechless.. I can't even come up with the right words to express how I feel about this book.. I mean the whole series was one of the best I ever read, but this last book is by far one of the greatest I have ever read in a very long time.. I laughed, I yelled and I got happy and sad but most of all I cried my heart out because my emotions were all over the place.. I recommend this series to everyone who loves to read a good strong love story as well as love suspense, action and just great characters that will keep you reading their story and feeling everything they are feeling and more.. Oh and I can sense another great story on its way.. Thank you so much Elisa S. A more for an awesome story that will stay with me for a very, very long time.. -

Where do I start?
I really enjoyed this book. The ending was everything I hoped for and more. I was enthralled! I'm really contemplating trying my hand at short story ☺ -
Great series+
Great book series!!! I loved the ending!! Gonna really miss Gemma and Evan .. and the rest of the characters! -
Well. I have to be honest. I did push the spoiler alert button on this review because I'm about to go off on a rant! I wasted a lot of time reading 4! Books in this series. This being the last. I was not happy with this book from the very start. Terrible things happen to almost everyone!! Then it gets worse, and more tragic, and then ends terribly! I'm soo disappointed! I could've finished this book 100% better. I think that the author thought this was a happily ever after ending, BUT OH NO IT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT! It is a tragedy through and through even up until the baby, Liam does something at the very end. Horrible. I gave it 2 stars because after 4 books I fell in love with the characters, not the books to be clear. I will definitely not read from this author again. Advertising this book as a true love tale! Ha! I hate to burst everyone's bubble but this had a terrible outcome for every character in the book. Just horrific to even dwell on any longer. If you choose to read. Be prepared for a let down. Big time. Maybe a PULL DOWN AND DROWN YOU!

!!! Took me a while to finish. Almost too much going on and took too long for the pace to pick up. Loved the last half though!! -
I was really desperate to finally read about Emma and Evan, and of course Ginevra, Simon and Drake, I also loved Anya character, so after finishing this book, I must say I don't know what to do with myself, it was a great read with a magnificent finale for an unforgettable series, with a lot of action, romance and sadly loss, but it's definitely a must read.
