A bad boy with a need for speed. A good girl with a heart of gold.

Together, it's gonna be one hell of a ride!

Jack I’ve been beaten and broken all my life.
Thanks to an alcoholic mother from hell.
And all the new 'dads' she brought home when I was a kid.
Who gives a sh*t? No one said life should be easy, anyway.

But, I'm the best at the only thing I care about.
Been a street racer since before I could legally drive.
All I need is a little blow, my racing skills, and my ‘68 Camaro.
One of the classics, she's my baby. My everything.

Love—whatever that is—isn't meant for a man like me.
Until one sweet nurse at the local clinic changes everything.
She’s rich, beautiful, smart...and so totally out of my league.
Our lives are worlds apart, but a guy can dream, right?.

I guess we always want what we can't have.

Fueled Obsession is a heartwarming bad boy, good girl romance between a revved-up race car driver from the wrong side of the tracks, and a kind, compassionate nurse. This is the first book in the series and DOES contain a cliffhanger with an eventual HEA in the final book of the series.

    So far great

Starting out with a bang. I'm into this series now after this book, it's a great beginning. Two people one well off, one from the wrong side of the tracks. Both with their problems, drawn to each other. Great story line, check. Believable characters, check. Excellently proofread, check. Grabbed my attention and won't let me stop reading, check. I am moving onto book two now, I need to see how things turn out with what just happened.

Amanda Heartley is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. I just loved her Oceans Apart series and now she's back introducing us to sexy bad boy Jackson Fitzgerald.

Mollie is the good girl and Jack is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. After the death of her mother, Mollie is looking to make a difference by helping people in need. Jack was born into a crap family and while he may be a bad boy on the outside, he truly has a heart of gold.

Jack meets Mollie for the first time in passing at about 90 miles per hour. Not really getting her name or anything, her face stays with him and for some reason he can't get the girl out of his mind. Mollie takes an internship at the local free clinic and finally gets to talk to the mysterious Jack Fitzgerald. He's easy on the eyes, however Mollie has heard nothing but bad things about him.

Jack and Mollie have zero in common on paper, although once they get together a different story emerges. The book is well written and Amanda Heartley did a great job in making you want more from these characters. I am excited to see if the good girl and bad boy can make it work, or if they will spin out.

In a departure from Oceans Apart, I'm giving Tristan and Ginny a break and instead, enter Jack and Mollie. He's a bad boy racer, she's an angel of mercy. You wouldn't think these two would even meet, let alone talk as they lead very different lives yet somehow, they find common ground.

Book 1 lays the foundation of their lives on either side of the tracks and Jack is hotter than hell! I'm writing book 2 already, enjoy!

    Amanda, XOXO

Oh my, one of my favorite kinds of stories. It has a sexy racer that seems to be a bad boy, he loves his sex, drugs and racing. But Jackson Fitzgerald just wants to make a better life for himself by getting on with a race team that takes young drivers and makes them into stars. Mollie DuBois is a pediatric nurse, giving her heart to the sick children and watching them die is a hard thing for her to be a part of. When a volunteer position comes up in a clinic from the wrong side of town, her dad is against it from the beginning. When Mollie goes behind her father and takes the residency position at the clinic, he will be very angry when he finds out. Jack meets Mollie at the clinic when one of the neighborhood kids gets hurt and Jack brings him in. Mollie is drawn to Jack and she wants to spend more time with him. While Jack is attracted to Mollie, he knows that she is out of his league. But when a chance comes up for him to ask he out, will he follow through? Will she accept? And all I can say about the ending is you better be hanging on to something because it will blow you away. Amanda Heartley has a way with a story that will have you glued to each page until the end and leave you wanting more. I need more NOW please!

I'm glad I gave it a try, but it's just not the book for me. Just too "thuggish" for my liking. DNF at 19%

This was a great start to the story. I felt bad for both Jack and Mollie. They both have a parent that is nuts. Once is a drunk and the other is a controlling jerk. I hope that Mollie can continue to be there for Jack he really needs help staying clean. I look forward to seeing how their story continues.

Jack Fitzgerald has had a hard life from the moment he was conceived. He has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug and alcohol addict. He has struggled from day one but he has worked hard for the few things that he does have. He likes to race cars, get high and sleep with easy women. He doesn’t believe that he could ever be with someone who is more than that.

Mollie DuBois has lived the easy life (in most people’s eyes). She has always been privileged, coming from a well off family. Even though she lost her mother at a young age, she was determined to make something of her life and make a difference. So she decided to become a nurse. She has a very over protective and over bearing father, who only wants the best for her but also wants to be the one to determine what that is.

One night Mollie and her best friend are almost in an accident involving none other than Jack Fitzgerald. He does stop and apologize but when he hears the police approaching, he takes off. Mollie can’t get him out of her mind. Then as she is volunteering at a low income clinic, she has another run in with Jack. There is something about Mollie that keeps drawing Jack in but in the back of his mind, he just knows that he isn’t good enough for her. Even though Mollie’s best friend keeps telling her all the horrible things about Jack, she just can’t seem to get him off her mind. She is drawn to him as well because she can see the good man buried beneath the hard exterior.

Jack is trying to make something better of his life by possibly racing with a well know team where he will have sponsors and the real chance at a better life. He desperately wants to include Mollie in this plan but life has a funny way of changing your plans when you least expect it.

I really enjoyed this short novel and can’t wait to dive into the second book to see how the story of Jack and Mollie continue. The story is told from both their POV’s and it is written in a way that you really want these two together even though they are so very different. Jack is such a nice guy when dealing with the neighborhood kids and trying to help them out. Mollie has a heart of gold and she is willing to fight her father tooth and nail to do what is right when it comes to her working for the clinic. I love that I was able to become so invested in these two characters in just a few pages. There is some drug use in the book and even though I am not a fan of that, it didn’t necessarily take away from the story as I have seen in some books.

I love this book and am both excited to read on and scared to read on because I can feel it in my bones this is going to be an emotional roller-coaster ride. I love Jack, yes he is rough around the edges but I also could see his true self under all of the attitude. It is so sad reading his mother's interaction with him, that has to be rough living like that and not knowing how your own mother is going to treat you day to day. I enjoyed reading his interactions with the neighbor kids and I love reading about his Camaro, it is one of my favorite cars, my husband had one when we first met. The first time I was introduced to him he asked me to go for a ride and we ending up drag racing on our small town highway, so there are many parts of this book that brought back good memories. I love Mollie, she is sweet and kind but she also seems to crave some adventure. I enjoyed reading how she was with the kids but I loved how she talked to Jack. I can see major trouble down the line because of who her father is and how controlling he is. I am not quite sure how I feel about her best friend yet, at times she seems selfish. I love their first date but I just knew something was going to happen, the ending has me on the edge of my seat and wanted to keep reading. Great job Amanda!!!!

Mollie is a sweet nurse in training that comes from a wealthy family. Jack is a street thug (think fast and furious) with a heart of gold that has had a hard life so far with a mother that is a drunk. Mollie sees the good in Jack that he does not see in himself. I like that Jack isn't your typical Hero. I like that he has everyday problems that he faces like everyone else. I love that Mollie can see past that and see the good in him. They do not just jump into bed with each other. They have an attraction to each other that can't be denied but Jack is so sweet and is scared he is going to screw it up. I love that about Jack. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for something different and down to earth. Amanda's writing in this book has hit the nail on the head in describing everything in a way that the reader can relate to. We all have or know someone with that overbearing dad or rough-upped mom, or the nervousness and feeling of being scared your going to screw something good up. This book is part of a series so it does leave you on a huge cliffhanger but overall a great read.

Our story starts as Mollie, a pediatric nurse, decides to do her residency at the local clinic for the poor-on the wrong side of the tracks. Her high-powered attorney father, simply forbids it. He doesn't want her working in the seedy part of town. Mollie wants to help people and feels it's not the time to be sheltered. So against her father's wishes, she takes the job downtown. After a series of accidents where she keeps seeing super-cute hottie, Jackson Fitzgerald, her curiosity is peaked! Jackson is a self-proclaimed bad boy. He street races. Not just because they need the money, but because he loves racing. He drives a bad-a** Camaro the ladies just swoon over. He could care less about any of them, until he meets Mollie. Again and again... There's just something about her.... Could someone like her ever go for a guy like him???

A copy of this book was given to me for the express purpose of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

A new series by Amanda Heartley. I couldn't wait...I love Tristan and Ginny, but I was excited to see what else she could come up with.
Jack "Fitz" Fitzgerald is a 25 yr old hottie who still lives at home taking care of his mother, and races his beloved Camaro to earn money.
Mollie DuBois is a nursing student who wants to be in Pediatrics. She lives at home with her dad, since she lost her mom to cancer.
This is the beginning of Jack and Mollie's story, describing each of the characters, getting background, and establishing their relationship.
And ends with a bang (and a screech and sirens) ***sigh... I hope we don't have a long wait...
I love Serials just for this reason...the cliffy...
4.5 Stars and I NEED to know what happens next!

Vroommmmmmmmmmmmmm Jack is not only a hottie but is kind and willing to help the kids enjoy sports and away from drugs. I am in-love with Jack and Mollie. What an attraction between a race car driver and a nurse. I cannot wait for book two. I hope Jack made it alive :-) I want to read more about these two love birds. Congrats Ms. Amanda on the new book. I highly recommend this book to everybody who likes a hottie that can drive the car fast straight to our heart. This is a book about romance as well with rich nurse but has the love for the unfortunate community to help especially for the kids. You will love Jack and Mollie's story.

Good story. I like how sweet Jackson was with Mollie. It was shady of him to not call her or answer her texts for 2 days, I'm glad she forgave him though.

One thing people need to understand, they can't decide they're not good enough for someone. They have to give that person a chance to make their own choice. It's not fair when someone decides "I'm not good enough" and breaks off contact.

    5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

I love Amanda Heartley! She made me a fan with Oceans Apart and Fueled Obession is most definitely my favorite so far! I love Jack and Mollie's characters! They seem like they would "fit" together but the chemistry between them is undeniable. I'm anxious to read more after the cliffy at the end. Ugh! Hope it's not a long wait!

  • Ashley Robinson

Fueled Obsession was a quick easy read. It seemed to miss a lot background information that could help the reader become more involved with the characters. At times I felt that things just got popped into the story line without an explanation. I had to go back a few times to see if I missed something.
In saying all of this, I will read the next book to hopefully have some closure.

  • Juli Hall

I absolutely love this book. Jackson is such a bad ass but in a sexy way. Can't wait to see how his and Mollie's relationship evolves. Looking forward to the next installment.

He's a Bad Boy but So Hot

Jack Fitzgerald has had a rough life; he's never known his father and his mother is hooked on drugs and alcohol. Jack is only partially good enough if he hands over some money he earns when winning illegal street races with his "baby", his Camaro. He feels alive when facing at 180 mph.

After one race, when he ran a red light, he almost struck a BMW with 2 girls in it. There was no damage done but he stopped to see if the girls were ok. The driver said they were fine, although her friend had jumped out of the Far swearing at him while she called 911. As he heard police sirens, he verified they were fine and quickly drive off.

All he could think about was the beautiful driver. The driver was Mollie Dubois, a pediatric student nurse. Her father was a very well known lawyer. When he heard that Mollie wanted to complete some of her internship at a clinic located in a rough part of town, he forbid Mollie to go there. At 23 years old, she was going to do what she wanted, to help those in need.

Jack and Mollie would come face to face when he took a young neighbor boy to the clinic for stiches. Mollie got to see the good part of Jack when others told her he was totally bad news and to stay away.

Does Mollie listen to the negative comments and does Jack want to be with this good girl instead of the girls who throw themselves at him?

This was a great read, full of drama and action. I look forward to reading more of the series.

Jack is my new book boyfriend. I want to be his Mollie! Even if he is totally SOB he is deep down a man with heart made of gold. He is for me the epitome of bad boy. He thinks he is a looser and is not worth of someone like Mollie, is not worth of something good to happen in his life. I love him for trying to make his life better.
I love Mollie from her first appearance in the book. She is kind, caring, loving. She wants to help others and do something for the community. She is fighting for the cause and she is trying also to fight for herself.
Like in the races this story is fast paced but not rushed, it is perfection to me. I love the way it is written and the language suits the scenes and characters. I hate cliffhangers but I love that there is more for Mollie and Jack to come. Can't wait to read next books in the series.

  • Ramona

Amanda Heartly brings a fantastic story about Jackson "Fitz" Fitzgerald from the wrong side of the tracks and Mollie DuBois together.
Jack has had a rough life he tries to be a good guy but, things just keep going wrong even after he meets Nurse Mollie at the local clinic.
Mollie has come to work at the clinic her father forbid her to work at when she runs into Jack again the guy who almost ran her over the night before there's an instant attraction and everyone even Jack tells her that he's not good for her. What will happen when he continues to race and do drugs? This book does show the horrors of alcoholism and drug use. I enjoyed the book however very much.

    Captivating

Well here start our adventure between Jack, illegale street racer, coke addict, booze and girls. And Mollie, a sweet girl on her way to nurse finals. Working as a medical center and at Village, a community hospital.

Exciting, captivating, suspense, a bad boy with a great heart. The story will keep you on your toes ! I loved the story as it let us see that you don't need to be on the right side of town of be rich to make it, even when you loose a lot of battles, just keep hope and Faith to rise again !!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    This story was epic!

I throughly enjoyed this book. It was exciting and thrilling, it kept me hoomed from start to finish. I cant wait to read more in this series. I loved how the relationship between Jake and Mollie developed, I cant wait to see how they get on. This story was a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions but i think thats what makes a good story. When Mollie and Jake kissed for the first time i really felt i was there in the moment with them, this story was fantastic!

BUCKLE UP AND PUT YOUR HEAD BETWEEN YOUR LEGS!!!
OMG! Holy crap. What a way to start the series. This is one fascinating, action packed, hard hitting, page turning bombshell that grabs you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Amanda really knows how the keep you focused and glued to your seat as you follow the characters along. The twists and turns along with a few surprises keep the drama and suspense while building up the tension. I can't wait for the next installment. Fantastic job Amanda, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
