The essays and poems contained within this anthology are not only compelling but also harrowing stories of sexual assault. None of these pieces were easy to write–and were born out of traumatizing and terrible experiences. CCM believes in providing a safe space within the literary community where we can not only talk about painful experiences and issues but also necessary considering the current political climate.

Some poems/essays hit harder than others. I felt like there was a lot of great potential for this book to really capture what it feels like to be a woman living in a world where any man could be a potential threat to them. And some of the entries certainly do that incredibly well, while others I felt pulled their punches a bit. Also there are some typos or missed words throughout that took me out of the experience.
Regardless I'm glad a book like this exists to spread the perspectives and tell these horrible stories in a way that will ideally give people more of a reason to stop victim blaming and stand with victims of sexual assault.
