This was a quick, sweet story. I like that the story took place in Florida, and that the Sinclair family was involved--Levi is a main character. It was nice to see how and what the family is doing. The dogs were cute and stole the story. I also liked the ending; it was humorous and happy.

I was excited and very pleased to visit Windswept Bay again: getting to catch up with the Sinclair family was awesome !
Under the microscope this time was my fav. of the 5 Sinclair brothers: Levi, the smart, kind, talented and physically fit Police Chief.
New to the area, employed as a school teacher, mother of a 6-year old boy, is Widow Jessica.
Kevin is a sweet, caring, but an extremely clever lad ! .... yes a lad with a plan ! ... who squished my heart erupting emotions powerful enough to bust an artery or two. ... from laughing out loud moments, gasps , and teary eye moments, along with great family satisfaction/ involvement too !
Jessica, Kevin and their dog Rosco moved to town for a fresh & independent start from her Dad and friends and family from back home. Kevin is determined to create his own fresh start for their family !
Once again the Sinclair family come together with Windswept Bay's wonderful community for fund-raising and animal rescue events. ... which draws Jessica, Kevin and his dog into Levi's life.
This was a wonderful sweet romance which I loved reading from first page to the last in the book.
I am looking forward to hearing what is in store for Max ... and the remaining single Sinclair brothers.
Received in exchange for an honest opinion... Honestly .. It is a book I honestly recommend you should not miss .... It made my day ! -
Wonderful, wonderful story that is full of interesting and likable characters, including a sweet, little boy who is determined that he has found a new daddy for his mommy!
I really felt for Levi in this novel. As he began to fall in love with Jessica, it becomes clear that although she may have feelings for him that are growing, she also has a fear of moving on to love another man, having lost her husband a couple of years earlier. Jessica has so many fears in this book and she must work to overcome them.
I loved this story! The author did a great job with the little boy and making him believable and sweet. The two main characters were wonderful, as well. I’m, once again, looking forward to the next book in this series.
With This Ring is a great addition to the Windswept Bay series that can be read as a part of the series or as a stand alone. There are numerous characters who make appearances in all of the books of the series, so you really get a better all around understanding of what is going on if you read all of the stories. And they are all so fun and romantic, how could you not want to?
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a light and easy read. Even though it was the sixth book I got this one for free so I haven't read the other ones.
In some ways that was a negative when reading this one. There just felt like there was a lot I was missing. There were too many side characters in Levi's family and some friends. There was too much going on to focus enough on the main story. And the main story needed it since it was an insta-love. The premise was cute and I actually added a star for the cuteness that is Kevin. Seriously Kevin and the dogs were the only things holding this book up for me at points.
Without having read all the previous books I did not care about the parts that follow up with those book's characters. It was mainly surface throughout. I wanted more. I wanted to care about the supporting characters. I wanted to have more moments to show why they were in love. And above all I wanted more Kevin.
If you need a short easy book in between other book, especially if they are intense, then this book will work. But definitely get it while it is free. I'm glad that I got it for free because otherwise it would not be worth it to me. -
You can't really go wrong with this series. I've been looking forward to hunky Levi's story, and it was a sweet one indeed. One that shows there can be joy after loss, life after death, and happy endings in life. Add this Sinclair brother to your reading list. *I received an advanced copy of this book*

The blurb drew me in with a little boy asking both God and Santa for a daddy for Christmas. How cute is that? This little guy was adorable. Can you imagine taking the Police Chief for show-and-tell, not because of his job but to say he was going to be the boy's new daddy? Since his mother was also his teacher, she witnessed the scene. She later tried to explain that Levi was not going to be his daddy but the 6-year-old didn't believe her.
This was a great romance. Surprisingly (after being set up) Levi and Jessica (Kevin's mom) found that they liked each other's company and started spending time together. Maybe Kevin knew what he was talking about when he took Levi for show-and-tell? Jessica was adamant that they weren't dating. She had lost her husband 2 years earlier and did not want to risk heartbreak again. She especially didn't want to be with someone in a dangerous job. Jessica was a terrific mother. She didn't want to risk having her son hurt by getting attached to someone that she got involved with then potentially breaking his heart if he left. The characters were very real and likable. I loved the way Levi was with Kevin. He was kind and considerate of him. Levi was clearly very fond of the boy. And the dogs just helped tie this group together. Kevin's dog, Roscoe, was a big gentle-giant kind of dog that played with Kevin and looked out for him at the same time.
I was smiling all the way through this book so if you like clean, sweet romances, you will love With This Ring. -

I know I am coming in at a disadvantage reading With This Ring - book 6 of the Windswept Bay series having not read the previous books in the series. Evidently the four Sinclair sisters fell in love in the first books and now the five Sinclair brothers are out to find the women of their dreams.
Can I say this series trend - of large families with each sibling getting their own book and the characters intertwined - is getting a little old. It almost seems like a cop out, the characters are pre-formed and the storyline fairly formulaic. Can we spew these out any faster since there doesn't seem to have much character development, almost novella in depth, and lacking in plot development (they went there, they said this, there fingers/arms, etc tingle at the touch, blah, blah blah.) I turned to this for a quick easy read. It was, too bad it wasn't that enjoyable. The precocious little boy, Kevin, was the bright spot and even he was a bit unbelievable - but cute!! -
The transition from Jennifer resisting Levi to suddenly submitting to his vibes is sudden and quickly slipped in like a casual stroll on a Sunday morning. I know death is hard to handle but at times Jennifer spoke as if Adam willingly chose to die. In addition, it was very unfair of the author to take the same event which caused Adam's death to recreate a research mission for Levi. That is just messing deliberately with someone's emotions and if that was not enough after Jennifer goes through a million list of reasons why she cannot get close to Levi, suddenly Levi realizes he cannot get attach to Jennifer because he would be competing with a dead man. Oh for the love of plot twist! I was at my wits end by the time it took Jennifer watching other women bidding on Levi to realize she has room in her jolly big heart. *Exasperated*

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I thought this book was quite humorous with some heart felt emotions as well. I thought the young son of Jessica Lyons made this book the enjoyable read it was. I liked Jessica Lyons and Levi Sinclair too. I liked how their relationship developed as well. However, it all started with a little boy named Kevin Lyons. He is the kind of little boy that when he decides he wants something he goes after it. Of course his Mother loves him; but Levi falls for the little boy and so does the other members of his family. And when all the reasons why Jessica and Levi couldn't have a life together finally fell away and they both recognized they were meant to be a family. The first person that Jessica and Levi wanted to tell of their decision was Kevin. I loved it.
Also, I was quite surprised and happy to find there was no profanity in this book and no sexually explicit dialogue either. It goes to show you that it doesn't necessarily have to be a Christian novel to still be written in a clean professional way. This is just good storytelling. The Author is very talented at her craft.
I thought the book was well written. I thought all the characters were very well developed. I liked the pace of the story as well. I thought it ended well while at the same time introducing you to the next book in the series.
If this is an example of the quality of books that this Author writes then I want to read more. I plan to get the next book in the series. -
After the death of her husband two years ago, Jessica Lyons raises her 6-year-old son Kevin on her own. All the little boy wants from Christmas and God is a Daddy, but Jessica still is not ready to go on. When good-looking Police Chief Levi Sinclair shows up as Kevin's Show-and-Tell at school, it is very awkward when Kevin announces that Levi is going to be his new Daddy... Rumours fly in the little town of Windswept Bay, especially as Levi and Jessica cannot deny the growing attraction to each other.
A nice enough romance, with a good plot and likeable enough characters (though occasionally a bit exaggerated and very unrealistic in my opinion). Regarding the protagonists, they both are a bit weak, Levi more so than Jessica. The best thing in this book really was the little boy, Kevin, who at least made for some amusing situations - although again, I doubt that normal 6-year-olds are so smart and thinking in advance, to be honest, at least none I know.
An absolute no-no was that twice, the names of the characters were mixed up - that should not have slipped through editing, sorry. -
Debra Clopton's books have been a joyous discovery. I like how she writes strong female characters who retain their feminity. At the same time, her male characters retain strength and masculinity without sacrificing the ability to show concern and respect to women. There's plenty of room for each of the characters to learn and grow, to experience freedom, and to follow their dreams. She weaves each tale so wonderfully, I haven't gotten tired of reading her books yet like I sometimes do with other prolific romance authors, especially in series.
This particular story touched my heart because of something recent that happened "close to home." I felt like I could relate to the characters more easily and really immerse myself in the tale. The main characters - a widowed mother, her son, and a bachelor sheriff - find themselves in some tricky situations and I enjoyed seeing how they dealt with things and how they learned and grew together from the first chapter to the last. I honestly can't wait to read more of the Windswept Bay novels.
If you enjoy sweet romance with relatable characters who tug on your heartstrings, then this is the book for you. -
With This Ring (Windswept Bay, #6) by Debra Clopton
Young Kevin asks God and Santa for a new Daddy for Christmas. His Mother Jessica has been a widow for several years feels she is not ready for love. But Kevin is determined, he invites Police Chief Levi for show and tell in the hopes of getting that new Daddy.
Kevin is very likable, I could not help but fall in love with the young boy. Jessica is likable too, I related with her and could understand why she wanted to hold off on love. Levi is the answer to Kevin's prayers and Jessica's as well, she just doesn't realize it yet. Life in Windswept Bay can be everything a person is looking for, and more.
The story moves at a fast pace with well developed characters. The dialog is engaging, with attention to detail bringing you into their lives. I was drawn in from the beginning, and wanted to see Kevin and Jessica truly happy. Overall I found
With This Ring an enjoyable sweet romance and feel other will enjoy it as well. -
I absolutely love this series-I truly can't say enough great things about it! This series is set in Windswept Bay-beach area and introduces the 9 Sinclair siblings through out the series of books.
Brothers: Levi, Can, Jake, Max, Trent
Sisters: Cali, Shar, Olivia, Jillian
This book #6 is about local school teacher Jessica, her son, and Sinclair brother Levi as they get to know each other after a very awkward encounter at the local elementary school. This story has lots of laughs and mushy "awwww" moments. Jessica is widowed and isn't sure if she can risk loving again or risk her son losing another daddy. Jessica and Levi can't help running into each other at the same places or deny the sparks between them, but is it enough for them to try a lasting relationship?
You won't be disappointed in this or other books in this series by author Debra Clopton! Clean, christian, fiction romance.
I received a copy of this ebook complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own. -
I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing an honest review.
After meeting the Sinclair sisters in the first part of this series, Book 6 allows us to get to know brother Levi. He is the police chief of Windswept Bay and apparently all the single ladies want him. Except for Jessica, well its not that she doesn't want him rather she is still recovering from losing her husband a few years earlier. When Levi agrees to be Jessica's son's show and tell, Kevin shocks them both by announcing to the entire class that Levi is going to be his new daddy. The result of this is a truly romantic, emotional story. Debra Clopton has the ability to work magic with her characters, making them seem as if they are friends with the reader. This book is heartwarming! -
Little kids and puppies are usually a winning combination, and that is the case in With This Ring. I really enjoyed how spunky Kevin was and the fact that I could really visualize him. So many books with children have them having conversations way beyond their age and that is quite distracting. You also have a hunky police chief and a lonely and afraid widow, neither are even looking for love. An enjoyable read that also deals with some very real fears. The one thing I was disappointed with was how abrupt the ending was. But then, when you are really enjoying a book you really don't want it to end!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. -
Jessica Lyons can't believe that her six year old son, Kevin, asked Santa and prayed to God for a new daddy for Christmas. That was a tough one to explain to her little boy and she thought he understood that she wasn't ready to marry again and give him a daddy. Kevin decides to pick out his own daddy and the lucky man is Levi Sinclair, Chief of Police in Windswept Bay!
I love the way that the story was written and began with the boy's declaration and continued with an awareness and connection between Jessica and Levi. Apparently, little Kevin can add "matchmaker" to his skills as a dog whisperer.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and all opinions are my own. -
This is the second Debra Clopton book I've read or tried to read. I really WANT to love her books because I enjoy a good, clean romance story. I liked the premise of this one. It did pull me in for the first couple of chapters, but then it just fell flat. There wasn't enough tension between Levi and Jessica, no big buildup. I guess I just prefer reading romances strictly told from the h's POV (3rd person). Once I get into the H's head, the mystery of "does he? or doesn't he?" is gone. I only want to feel what the h is feeling - to walk in her shoes. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned in that way. To each their own!
-
Overall, the story is a clean and entertaining romance with the expected prospect for a happily-ever-after ending.
Admittedly, I was annoyed with the constant reminders, and from several POVs, that the heroine was still sad and grieving her deceased hubby and was having a hard time thinking she could ever be with another man. I found myself saying out loud, “Okay, okay, I got it!”
I debated whether to give this book 3 or 4 stars, and the overall goodness of the story and the author's amiable writing style pushed me toward 4.
If I were to give this a movie-style rating it would be "G." -
With This Ring!
I found this to be a very sweet and entertaining book. First time I read anything by this author, and although I started in the middle of the series, it didn't take away from my enjoying this book. I loved the storyline and the humor sprinkled throughout. I plan on reading the whole series eventually, starting with book 7. I almost didn't purchase because of the 2 star reviews, glad I ignored because I would have missed out on a new author and her books. JudyE -
Likable story with likable main characters especially Kevin. He's bound and determined to have a new daddy and his sights are set on Levi. And as the story goes on, you can see why. Levi is a gem and soon sought after hard by the single ladies in the town.
It was a quick summer read that was just okay. The idea was a cute on and believable one that a young child could come up with.
I think it had the potential to be even better. -
Love can come
Up lifting story. A little boy knows he has found his second father. Beyond a storm life can get better. Add love from dogs and a man with integrity and the chances of a new loving family can happen. Love can grow to include more than one person as this good story shows. A few editing errors noted and one place where the thought was not clearly written. Worthwhile read in spite of the errors.
