Robert, an outcast in his Pack, is delivered to Glenoak Pack for execution in retribution for a murder he had no hand in. But Sebastian, their strong, kind Alpha, has other plans. And though Robert tells himself he's not worthy of the Alpha's attention, there's no denying that there's something between them.
Sebastian, under pressure to continue his Pack's Alpha line, is reluctantly considering a marriage of convenience. Until fate quite literally throws Robert at his feet. There's something different about Robert, underneath all the fear and mistrust, that draws Sebastian to him.
Then Sebastian catches sight of a mark Robert bears. A mark not seen in generations. And everything changes.
The Alpha's Touch is a complete, 31,000 word paranormal romance novella with a happy ending. It includes some intimate scenes not suitable for readers under eighteen.

This was okay. Interesting enough that I kept reading to see what happened. However it's not really how I like mate stories. While it was mentioned here and there "something was different with him" I never got the mate pull I like. I felt Seb only chose Ro because he was an Omega...like any omega would do...nothing special. Plus, in the beginning when wasn't very "mateish" to me either. I wanted him to stop it and protect Ro. I also wanted to see Ro grow stronger which didn't really happen...maybe in future books? I'll definitely try the next one to see if it's better.

Shifters, a formerly abused omega, a patient sweet Alpha, claiming, mention of mpreg.
Shit yeah, this was my kind of book!! -
I'm such a sucker for the "omega who's been mistreated finds an alpha who treats him like gold" storyline. I just wanted to give Robert a BIG hug and tell him things will be better than they were. I loved how patient and caring Sebastian was towards Robert, and I'm glad it wasn't instalove or overly sexed up too early. In fact, there's really only one sex scene during Ro's heat, and it was still sweet and lovely.
Mpreg is mentioned but doesn't happen in this story (hopefully this series will still feature the previous characters and maybe it'll eventually happen either with Ro and Sebastian or a future couple) as I'm assuming we will be finding more lost omegas? Heck, I'd be happy with continuation of Ro and Seb's story!
I think this is a promising new series from a new author and I look forward to the second book. I do think at times the writing felt a bit awkward and formal, and there was some unnecessary repetition and overlap between chapters since it switched POV, but I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series. -
Pretty good ....... will look for the next in the series .
-
Nice comfort/hurt story. Brutal shifter world. The omega was a very smart resilient character. Alpha was caring and fair and wanted to bring the pack into the modern world.
The writing needed more physical and sensory descriptions for the environment and shifters - looks, sensations, smells, sounds, etc. I felt like it was a coloring book and I had to fill in the detail. This defect negatively impacted the single sex scene, making it somewhat dull. But it was a lovely story with very likeable MCs. -
2.5 Stars!

Very emotional and angsty. Not enough world building. Seemed like the MCs decide to be together for the convenience of it, rather than for love. Still, addictive and hard to put down.
-
I love hurt/comfort. Give me an abused or damaged MC and another to be growly and alpha and to love him and I am in heaven. Though I might of wished for more world building in general this is a strong start to a series. Ro and Sebastian were sort of thoughtful together - which sounds weird and unhot but it's not. This is not a "mate" story with instalust/love. Ro needs to learn to trust again and that trust takes a while to build. Sebastian gets it - completely - and here is a true alpha who gives time and space and knows how to create an environment where Ro can trust him (without forcing it). There is an "evil" pack (or more accurately an evil alpha) and then things going on outside with other wolves that we don't see - and not as many secondary characters in the main pack as I would expect if this is focused on them. I enjoyed this one alot!
-
Good, but....
I did enjoy the story. The only thing that I had trouble with per se is the connection between the two MCs. Even with the whole mates/mating thing here being an outlier; when Ro goes into heat, well it was nuke warm at best. Simply put: Not feeling the chemistry between Ro and Sebastian. However I am interested in reading what happens between the two packs. -
This will be a short review because this is a short book but I thought this was actually really sweet! I liked the way that Sebastian treated Robert. I liked that it was always clear that Robert would have choices as to whether to do something or not and could have the freedom to learn and grow and not just be an omega or a mate.
This book was definitely an interesting and more in-depth look at some elements of omega biology compared to what I’ve read before. I thought the choices made set this story apart a little bit. The conflict and plot in this book was also great. The author really crams a lot in considering this book is only just over 100 pages but it never felt rushed.
I would be interested in reading other books by this author or other books in this series. Hopefully I would like them as much as this one. -
It's been a while since I tried a shifter book but I decided to take a chance and go in with very low expectations.
Happy to say I wasn't disappointed with this one mainly because there was no instant smell mate sex frenzy.
Enjoyable for a light hearted shifter read. A little angst to keep things interesting.
Not sold on the Mpreg side of things, but I'm willing to go along with it. -
Good for the Warm and Fuzzies
It was a lovely introduction to a new series and it was low on angst (even though there was some) and high on romance. Good stuff! -
Humiliated, beaten to a pulp, ready to die at the hands of the enemy, but their Alpha is doing what?
Simple but eventually sweet Alpha rescues an abused Omega mm ABO shifter romance
With a brutal start, this sets up a general shifter world where brutish Alphas rule the lowest pack members, especially the rare/almost uknown Omegas, with abuse and derision. Despite the nasty backdrop, the overall relationship and story tone is comparatively light and escapist. Occasionally in the series, the horrors of the bad/evil/nasty villains pokes through, but the contrast to the heroes leaves it much more of a sweet/rescue read than angsty or dark.
While the overall writing wasn't extraordinary and the plot relatively short and simplistically sweet, I found this to be a pleasant little comfort read. It's nice to see an Alpha/Beta/Omega (Omegaverse) shifter story without insta-mate or forced mating. The buildup started somewhat slowly but then developments moved very quickly, leaving me yearning for a bit of more palpable chemistry between the pair. (In some ways, it ended up feeling like a mating of convenience).
Still, while not knocking my socks off, it's a wonderfully escapist "rescue the abused, weak wolf" who finds comfort in the arms of a sure, steady, and strong Alpha.
The background story was certainly interesting enough for a sequel (and perhaps some real mpreg and not just the potential), and it would be nice to have more relationship chemistry explored (beyond "we kind of like each other" and "our wolves respond a bit to one another, and hey, an Omega in heat needs an Alpha mate").
I'm a sucker for a comforting "rescue the abused Omega" story, so 3.5 stars rounded up to four. -

Tekst wygląda, jakby ktoś wypatroszył go z każdej głębszej refleksji i celowo usunął wszystkie przymiotniki oraz choćby sugestię interpretacji.
That moment you thought you were reading a Susi Hawk been and when you finish you see Claire Cullen's name. *Face palm*
I bought this book on 3 hours of sleep, so forgive me for the error.
Even with that little cock up, this was still a good read. It's labeled as mpreg, because our secret Omega has the ability, it's just not in his cards yet in this first book, which I LOVED. There's so much room for relationship and character growth before they jump in and start a family without really knowing each other, despite Seb's sweet mystical soulmate story.
Also, I think I've become addicted to Omega stories. This is my second in less than 24 hours. *Grabby hands* need more!
3.5* -
I don't know what it is about Claire Cullen's shifter books but they make me super happy.
I adored Ro and his upbringing broke my heart , Sev was a great alpha . Alpha/omega fated mates no mpreg in this one but I hope we see them have babies in future books of the series . -
Interesting story
I really like the premise of the story. The world in general sounds great, and I like Ro and Sebastian together. -
I liked it. I kind of got a little tired of Ro because he was so indecisive. All in all it was a fun short read.
-
Thrown away
Robert is given away to pay a blood debt. The pack doesn't know what they have given up but it doesn't take Sebastian long to figure it out. -
The Alpha's Touch by Claire Cullen is a story I saw while I was scanning Amazon, looking for a shifter book. I'll admit the cover caught my eye, I didn't read other reviews and figured I would give it a shot. All I can say is, wow! I should have read other reviews. I was really dissapointed in this story that is categorized as a romance, yet lacked romance. There was nothing but fighting and violence in this story and then one sexual encounter that seriously lacked passion.
I am not one who can't read violence either, I have read and enjoyed some very twisted, dark books. However, I think the difference is those books either let you know up-front what you are going into or their is some resolution at the end. This story just ends. I feel like maybe the author should have fleshed the story out a bit more. Maybe that is coming in book 2 or 3 which are already published, but I am not going to be one who samples them.
So, in the end - the cover is pretty.

The Alpha's Touch By Claire Cullen
Robert has been his pack's whipping post since his Father died. When his Alpha's son murders a member of a neighboring pack he's given to them as part of a blood debt.
Alpha Sebastian and his pack are heartbroken when one of their own is murdered. When Robert comes to them half-starved and with the scars from being beaten for years he sees what a determined fighter Robert is and admires him.
The story is well written. Except for his old pack, and a few in his new pack who aren't satisfied with just the blood debt and new land, all the characters are likeable. The only part I'm disappointed in is that there wasn't much emotional depth to the MC's. It was like Sebastian and Robert only had surface emotions. Nothing deeper that showed they truly loved each other. Almost like their mating was just an answer to a problem. -
I was kind of burned out on shifter stuff, but this book made me enjoy it again. For one thing, the characters are attracted to each other, but their love builds over time. None of the trite "insta-mate" stuff you usually read here! I also liked that the mythology took a more scientific approach to the idea of omegas and their biology. Not that there still isn't an element of paranormal, but I liked that
Claire Cullen kind of winked at the concept.
I also like books with traumatized characters who heal over time. It is very rewarding to watch their evolution and see them get their happily-ever-afters.
I'll definitely continue to read books by this author! -
A really enjoyable shifter M/M romance.. Robert was a really strong young man who suffered in silence for years, until he got a pack that stood up for him and he finally found someplace to call home. I found great passion in there love for each other.
I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a strong alpha who goes all out to protect his own and a omega who doesn't know when to call it quits!! Awesome writing -
I totally enjoyed this sweet little book!! can't wait to dive into the next one!! Didn't think I'd be able to finish after I read the first few chapters because I reeeally wanted to hurt those mean and nasty shifters!! Just wanted to hold Ro and tell him I'd have his back and love him and hold him and squeeze him...lol. poor little thing....

Enjoyable read. Would read more by this author. And interesting biological take on the mpreg trope.

The Alpha’s Touch is the world-building novella that kick starts the Lost Alpha Series, by Claire Cullen.
Robert is a young wolf shifter, who hasn’t shifted in over a year, has been shuffled from foster home to foster home, and doesn’t know his own ancestry. He is part of the Eagle Creek pack, led by a brutish alpha who treats Ro (Robert) very badly. When a member of the Glenoak pack is killed by the son of the Eagle Pack alpha of the Eagle Creek pack, a diplomatic agreement is established by the much kinder Glenoak alpha, including the delivery of a member of the Eagle Creek pack as a blood debt.
Ro is chosen as the blood debt tribute and he assumes he will be killed upon delivery. For a number of reasons he is not killed and is assimilated into the Glenoak pack. Not everyone is happy about that,
Sebastian is the alpha of the Glenoak pack. Their numbers are dwindling, in part due to the fact that an omega has not been born into the pack in decades.
The story is exciting and turns into a romance. The ending is not a true cliff hanger but it does leave loose threads since it is the beginning of a much longer series. I really enjoyed it and plan to devour the rest of the series asap. This book and series were recommended to me and I absolutely love it. If you like shifters, mpreg, strong alphas, and stories that have more that first meets the eye, this is the book for you. Highly recommended.
