This book had all the elements that I look for in a book. The writing was strong and there were no areas where I was pulled out of the story by the writing. The dialog believable and Emmy and Christopher spoke like real people. I liked the characters, and it was a second chance romance. yet, this one didn't totally work for me.

Emmy and Christopher met a couple of years ago, had a couple of day romance and then, for reasons you find out in the book, she did not accompany him on a trip that he had booked and their relationship fizzled.

I think this was my issue, that there was a combination of insta-love combined with a second chance romance that felt just a little off to me. In order for me to really believe the angst of the second chance meeting, I needed something a little deeper than a 2 day affair...or maybe see a little more of that relationship in flashbacks.

This said, looking past this, it was a sweet and charming romance. It is clearly a set up for the stories of the other sisters, which is fun. I also think the story here may have suffered a little with the attempt to also set up the other stories, which is a common thing in "first in a series" books.

That said, I am definitely interested in reading the next stories. There was enough here to make me want to see what happens next.

    I do recommend this book.

I've mostly read Amanda's YA books before a few years back and I loved them.So I was quite surprised and excited to see that she was writing a new contemporary romance series!

This is a second chance romance with a beautiful setting and lovely characters!
Emmy and her sisters have inherited the Wishing Bridge Farm after their aunt's death, and though her other two sisters aren't too keen on keeping the farm, Emmy desperately wants to save it.And she has the plan.If she manages to plan and pull off the current wedding without a hitch, she can afford to save the farm and turn it into a wedding destination. After running into a few problems, she now has to pick up the best man who will be staying at her guest cottage. And to her shock the best man is none other than Christopher- the guy she hooked up with two years back and the one she left with just a message, before they were going to leave for Fiji.

Christopher is a take it easy kinda guy, a travel writer who never stays long in one place. He's been all over the world and doesn't ever want to have regrets. He is in talks with a production company for a show that would feature him and his adventures. All he needs to do is spruce up his image and he needs a fake girlfriend for that. He's hoping to find one at the wedding.Imagine his shock when he finds Emmy waiting for him at the airport.
Though things between them are awkward at first, they soon end up in a truce as Emmy needs the wedding to be perfect and she doesn't need Christopher and his wild ways messing anything up.
But what will happen when they slowly fall for each other? Will it last beyond the wedding?

Emmy and Christopher were quite the opposites but well suited to each other. Both of their characters have been primarily shaped by their experiences in life.Emmy was content to be in a small town, taking care of the farm, baking bread and planning weddings. She's quite like her aunt and doesn't want much other than a peaceful, happy life.
It was really annoying at times when her sisters picked on her for not moving out of town. They should respect her decisions. So what if she doesn't want to travel all over the world? She should do what makes her happy!
Christopher has his own set of issues stemming from his childhood experiences with his father.Though, he has quite the reputation, he isn't actually all that bad.I loved how he helped Emmy out once they set their differences aside. It was really beautiful seeing them fall in love with each other!
Personally I think a balance is needed, which the characters realized and achieved in the end.You need not stay in one place alone or shift around the world every month. You can have both and there is always a middle ground.:)
This is a sweet and beautiful story you must read! Can't wait to read the other books in the series! :D

Emmy loves living at Wishing Bridge Farm in a small town in Connecticut. She owns this farm together with her sisters Pepper and Bec. Her sisters want to sell the farm, but Emmy is working hard to prevent this. She's determined to turn it into a vintage wedding venue. If she can convince the bank manager that her business will be successful she can get a mortgage on the farm. Her plan is to buy her sisters out, so she will be the only owner of Wishing Bridge.

Emmy is a wedding planner and is making the preparations for a big wedding. Due to unforeseen circumstances the best man needs a place to stay and Emmy offers him a room at the farm. She goes to the airport to pick him up and when she sees him she's more than surprised the best man turns out to be Christopher, a man she hooked up with for a weekend 2 years ago. They have some unresolved business and the attraction is still there. Is there room for love in Emmy's ambitious plans?

Emmy is sensible and quiet with a special skill to fade into the background. She's a people pleaser and finds it difficult to stand up for herself. The fact that Emmy is working so hard to keep Wishing Bridge Farm, and therefore has to go against her sisters wishes, made me cheer for her to succeed. She's such a sweetheart and I connected with her immediately. I always love it when that happens.

Christopher doesn't do bad days. He learned a long time ago that if you want something to happen, you go out and do it yourself. That includes being happy. Christopher is a travel writer and he visits the most exotic places in the world. Emmy stood him up at the airport two years ago and this still stings. Christopher is confident and even a little arrogant at times. He pretends he is tough, but he is actually very sweet and caring once he lets someone in. I immediately liked his character and loved his wanderlust.

Falling for the Best Man is a heartwarming love story. Emmy and Christopher couldn't be more different, but it turns out that opposites do attract. They have great chemistry and they actually have more in common that they thought. Because of the fact that I'm getting married myself this year I enjoy reading books about weddings even more than usual. I loved reading about Emmy's beautiful farm and I could instantly visualize what a gorgeous wedding location it would be. Falling for the Best Man is an easy, fun and quick read. It's such a lovely romantic story, I highly recommend it.

  • The Book Junkie Reads . . .

Something neither of them planned for but it turned out to be the best decision that either of their hearts could make for them. Emmy was just looking so secure the future of her farm. Chris was looking for a leg up. Neither would guess that the very event would change their lives forever. I had fun watching these two do what they do and then work to not get caught in the lie that was real. This one had laughs from the start of the thing being set in to motion. Emmy was working so hard to keep things on track. The harder she worked the more things just went in the other direction.

Sweet, simple, hilarious fun. Never would you image that saving the family farm, getting the job of your dreams, and planning a wedding would go together but this one did it and then some.

Bottom Line. This is my first book my
Amanda Ashby and although I wasn't blown out of the water, I think I'll probably be checking out the next two books in this trilogy. I liked Emmy and Christopher—they were both very nice and sweet characters, basically already in love with one another (or at least hung up on one another) when the book starts. The reason for the 3-star rating is that it was a little bit slow-going and kind of boring at times; I hate stupid conflict ploys, so I can't believe I'm saying this, but it needed more or better-developed conflicts. And random note: the heat factor is very low; if I remember correctly, doesn't go beyond describing kissing.

Summary. Emmy Watson (25) is trying to get her new wedding planning/venue business off the ground, and this first new wedding will be key to showing that she can pull this off and to convincing her sisters not to sell the farm they grew up on and recently inherited from their aunt. Christopher Henderson (late 20s) is the best man and said wedding, and they are both shocked when they come face-to-face with one another ... because two years ago they had an amazing one-weekend-stand, that almost turned into more, except for Emmy bailed on a trip to Fiji last-minute (for good reasons, though Christopher doesn't know this).

Christopher is a travel writer, always going from place to place, never staying in one location for too long (of course this has ties back to his father, his childhood, and etc.). He met Emmy at a christening in NYC (basically the only time she's ever left Connecticut) and had invited her on a trip to Fiji that he was supposed to take the following week, but last-minute she texted him saying she couldn't go. He knows that she's a "homebody" who thrives at home, basically as far from a constant-traveler as you can get, and knowing this difference in their lifestyles and personalities has kept both of them from reaching out, despite the amazing connection they had.

When they see one another again, it's like no time has passed, and all the old feelings come flying back. Over the following four days, Emmy runs around trying to pull off a fabulous wedding and Christopher runs around trying to find a fake girlfriend for a TV show pitch he's supposed to go do in Hawaii. Emmy is constantly trying to interfere with Christopher's mission, in order to avoid any drama leading up to the wedding (a pretty big bridezilla is involved), and oh so conveniently for the plot, Christopher is actually staying at the farm for the four days he's there, because the groom's brother caused a plumbing emergency at the local inn, requiring everyone to be rehoused at other places in the town.

As the end of the four days draw nearer and Emmy and Christopher pick-up their relationship again, they have to face questions about whether this will be another one-time thing, or whether they can fit into each other's lives beyond just another weekend fling.

Praise. Like I said at the beginning, both Emmy and Christopher are super likable characters and quite sweet. Emmy might be a bit cookie-cutter (she's the wholesome, everybody's-friend, always-reliable, peppy homebody), but I still really liked her. Christopher was a nice change in that since we all love our tortured heroes or alpha males or complicated jerks, we get quite a bit of them across all the various romance sub-genres; in Christopher, we have an actual nice guy (::gasp::). While Ashby could have written him as resentful and pissed off at Emmy for ditching him last minute before Fiji, he's actually not, because he just attributed it to the differences that they already knew existed in their lifestyles. He's super understanding of Emmy and her ties to Sunshine (the town), and never looks down on her "homebody" ways as both her sisters do, for example.

The secondary characters were great additions and and I liked all the odd-ball local characters that Ashby peppered the story with; they brought some great humor to the book. We're also introduced to Bec (at the beginning) and Pepper (only at the very end), Emmy's younger and older sisters (respectively), who I'm assuming will be the heroines of the next two books. All three sisters are very different, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out and whether they all end up in Sunshine, CT in the end (when the book starts, only Emmy lives there).

Criticism. The plot ploy of Emmy needing to keep an eye on Christopher so he doesn't pitch one of the bridesmaids / wedding attendees on his fake girlfriend thing was kind of stupid, in that it didn't really make much sense. I get that the bride is a bridezilla and will freakout at everything, but it's not like he's even necessarily trying to hook-up with them over the wedding weekend or that he's trying to be deceptive about it—he plans on letting them know he needs a fake girlfriend to pitch the show. Anyway, was necessary to have them spend time together, so I get that; still, one would think the author could come up with a better reason.

Emmy and Christopher are CONSTANTLY mooning over one another (internally), and it got to be sickening after like page 5. Lol, okay, slight exaggeration, but practically not, honestly. It seemed like on every page there was at least mention by both of them about lusting/wanting the other, whether it was a comment about the hero/heroine's scent, skin, lips, shoulders, neck, hair, legs, whatever—it just went on and on and on and was non-stop. It was different from the lust-based complaints I sometimes have, because Ashby's books (or at least this one) seem to be quite light on that end, but was still physical-admiration based and, you know, ENOUGH ALREADY!!!! They look or smell at the other and just go crazy, it was exhausting.

Finally, the story was a bit ... well, boring. As I mentioned, they both have self-admitted feelings for and attraction towards the other, which in some ways was nice—the constant self-denials in romance stories can get to be tiring and over-used. But it made it so that from the beginning they're both just focused on, "Oh, I really want her/him and I'm really attracted to and into her/him, but our lives are super different and I can't ask that of her/him, so we're just not meant to be together ... but I really want her/him and I'm really attracted to and into her/him, etc. etc. etc." It just seemed like the story could have been cut down to a novella, given the repeated writing about their admiring one another and having the aforementioned conflicting thoughts/feelings; just cut out 50% of that repetitive text and you'd be all set!

Okay and one last thing, sorry but I need to: they spent two days together two years ago ... and now they've spent another four days together. And they're in love? ... Yeah, I don't know. Ashby writes them well and like I said, they're convinced of their own degree of attraction/affection towards the other from the beginning, which makes it easier to buy into, but still seems a bit wtf to me.

    Quotes. Two fun excerpts:

She looked like the sexiest librarian he'd ever seen.
And boy, do I want to look at books with her.

Emmy braced herself for the speech about to follow. It would involve spreading her wings. Being more adventurous. Grabbing life with both hands. There might even be some bird cage imagery invoked.
[...] "Why can't you even consider giving this thing a chance? You should spread your wings. Grab life with both hands. Step outside this cage you've built for yourself."
And there it is. Emmy only just managed to resist rolling her eyes.

Emmy needs for this weekend to go perfectly. It's her first wedding in her new business as a wedding planner and up to this point, things just haven't been going that great. So she finds herself at the airport to pick up the best man - who ends up drawing the lucky straw and will be staying with her at her farm, since the groom's brother caused a flood at the inn everyone was staying at, leaving no place for the man to stay.

The last person she wanted and thought she would see was Christopher... the man she had a weekend long fling with, the one time she has ever left town. Good thing he's not the best man... or is he?

Christopher wasn't too happy to see the girl who dumped him over a text message but there is still a drawl towards the beautiful girl who stole his heart that weekend 2 years ago. After confessing that he was planning to use the wedding as an opportunity to find a "fake girlfriend" for a future engagement, Emmy is determined to keep Christopher close by and not allow for anything else to go wrong with this wedding.

But fate has a totally different idea for these two... so let the fun begin. Christopher still sees the woman he fell for 2 years ago, but can Emmy let go and let fate step in so she can find the love that she's always been looking for?

I really loved Emmy and Christopher together. I love small town romances... especially when the "big city" partner comes in and isn't use the dynamics of the busy body townspeople. Christopher is charming, handsome and just the right amount of sarcastic fun for the closed off but lovable Emmy. This was a cute quick read and I can't wait for more books in this series.

Clean and relatively light hearted small town, opposites attract, second chance romance

Falling for the Best Man by Amanda Ashby is my first read by this author but won’t be my last as I really enjoyed this relatively clean and light hearted small town, opposites attract, second chance romance.

Told from dual perspectives, Emmy and Christopher appear as complete opposites but when put together they have an incredible chemistry and compliment each other nicely. Emmy, a wedding planner determined to keep her family’s farm going in her small town, and Christopher, a travel writer always looking for his next adventure in some remote place, are thrown together in a wedding when a disaster beforehand forces them into close living quarters. Watching them re-establish their relationship, which previously was an intense two night fling two years ago at a friend’s christening, is intriguing, especially with understanding the roots of their actions. While things heat up between the two, the book isn’t explicit, more fact/suggestive. Also, I loved Emmy’s sister, Bec, and her relationship with Emmy, helping bring out a different side to Emmy that you don’t instantly see.

Falling for the Best Man is well written with a good steady pace and flow. Despite the book being set over a short period, the book was steadily paced in terms of the relationship development, something that was also helped along given their brief history. The book can be read as a standalone read as all things are tied up for Christopher and Emmy (but also clearly sets up further books about Emmy’s siblings). I absolutely loved the ending as it was completely perfect for the Christopher and Emmy before seeing their HEA.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance and would definitely recommend it!

Emmy Watson is just trying to make it happen. It being the saving of her family farm, Wishing Bridge Farm. She’s bound and determined to hold onto her heritage—even without the support of her two sisters—and make their small Connecticut farm a destination site for a beautiful vintage wedding. But first she needs to get through the first wedding with a bride who’s worse than the worst bridezilla ever recorded, oh and learning that her weekend hook-up from the past is now squarely in her present—he’s the best man.

Christopher Henderson is out to prove to the TV executives making the decision on his new adventure show that his bad boy reputation is a thing of the past. Christopher is hoping he’ll meet at least one candidate for a “fake” girlfriend during his childhood best friend’s wedding festivities—one who’ll be willing to help him out in exchange for a trip to Hawaii. Too bad all he can think about is Emmy once the activities get started.

Can two people who have been running from their feelings about love and a future put their pasts behind them to make a go of what’s sparking between them?

I LOVE a small town romance, one where the townspeople play almost as important a role in the romance as the main characters. Add in a second-chance romance on top of a small town romance and I am ALL IN!! Falling for the Best Man was a perfect blend of both tropes, and I was sucked into the world of Emmy and Christopher from the very first page. Emmy and Christopher are both such strong, likable characters. They both thought they knew what they wanted from life. I loved how their friends and family were so supportive of them too—even if they knew WAY too much about their goings on. Ah, the best of small town living. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

This is a fun, flirty, light read that sucked me in from the very first page. Emmy and Christopher are great characters and their story will have you chuckling and rooting for them all the way through.

Emmy Watson is working hard to save the family farm. Getting her event planning business of the ground by pulling of a wedding that is full of disasters is the first step. She's determined not to give up though even when she goes to pick of the best man at the airport and he turns out to be the man she recently had a quick hookup with. Christopher Henderson is a bad boy. A globetrotter by nature and profession. Completely the opposite of home loving Emmy. Falling for this guy could only end badly. Especially when he admits he's looking for a fake girlfriend to help land him his next big job. The hilarity begins as Emmy tries to keep this wedding on track while keeping Christopher from hitting on all the bridesmaids.

Don't miss this one. It's a fun relaxing read that everyone will enjoy.

Such a sweet full of heart story. I loved Emmy's antics on her dealings with Christopher. The two of them together were hilarious, sweet and a lot of fun. They made a great team. I enjoyed the quaint town she lived in along with the neighbors and their meddling. They took care of each other and pushed each other to want more and get out of their comfort zone.

This is such a feel good story that draws you in and makes you want more from this town, especially Emmy's sisters' stories.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

    4.5 Stars

Wanting to keep Wishing Bridge Farm in her family; the farm that she inherited with her two sisters, Emmy Watson is planning her first wedding as a wedding planner to be hosted at the farm. But with a hysterical bride, the groom's brother being a handful and the best man being her house-guest; a guest she'd rather not have, Emmy doesn't know whether she can pull it off or not.

Christopher Henderson can't believe that the woman he hooked up with two years ago is the wedding planner for his best friend's wedding. Either it's his lucky day or his worst nightmare, depending on her reaction to his news that he needs a fake girlfriend to land his dream job. Yet, when Emmy starts interfering in his chance at finding a fake girlfriend amongst the women guests at the wedding, he begins to realize that Emmy herself may just be the perfect woman woman for the job. Can he convince her to give him another chance, or will their second chance at forever after slip away?

This is the first book I've read by Ms. Ashby, and I've got to say that I absolutely loved it. Not only because it's a second chance romance, but because Emmy and Chris are two fantastic characters that hooked me from the moment they came face-to-face again for the first time in two years. Will she be able to handle the fact that he's the best man and will be staying with her at the farm? Will Chris be able to forgive her for the past when he learns the truth of why she deserted their plans?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to what happens to Emmy's sister, and of course, the main characters back stories, especially that of the hero. He's an adventurer, never sticking to the one location very long, for fear he'll end up as bitter and unhappy with his life as his father was with his. He's also hard-working, confident and I liked how determined he was to find the woman that can help him achieve his newest career dream. Although, Emmy is good at thwarting his plans and those moments when she did made me laugh.

While Emmy, she was a wonderful heroine. She's strong and brave with how she handles everything thrown her way. She's also hard-working and I liked how determined she was to achieve her dream and prove to her sisters that the farm is important. That they should keep it in the family, instead of selling it. But what I liked most about the hero and heroine was the playful banter between them. Any time they conversed increased the sexual tension, which spilled over onto the pages sweetly In other words, closed bedroom intimacy.

Overall, Ms. Ashby has penned a really good read in this first story of her Wishing Bridge Farm series, which has me looking forward to reading Emmy's sisters stories when they're released. As both Bec and Piper, Emmy's sisters have returned for their own reasons; reasons that I desperately want to know what they are. The way this story ended made me want to scream at Emmy. Why couldn't she have both Chris and her dream? Yet, in saying that, I liked how she made things right with the hero. Because it was the only way they both could fathom how serious the other was about their relationship and that there's no way they'll let the other get away a second time. I would recommend Falling for the Best Man by Amanda Ashby, if you enjoy the second chance romance trope or have read and enjoyed books by authors Marissa Clarke, Boone Brux or Teri Anne Stanley.

  • Book Gannet

I really enjoyed this sweet and easy small town romance with its hint of second chances and strained sisterly relationships. Emmy and Christopher couldn’t be more different in what they want from life, yet somehow, someway, they manage to understand each other better than anyone they’ve ever met.

I liked Emmy a lot and I got really angry at the way her sisters kept trying to force her to go out into the world and spread her wings. She’s a home body, she loves the farm and the town of Sunshine, and if that’s all she wants from life there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that. The idea of her sisters selling the farm just to force her to get out into the world really annoyed me. I just wanted them to listen to her and what she wanted for once. Or at least understand why she might be scared.

Actually, I thought more would have come from her fears about leaving home, particularly her parents. But they get mentioned once and are seemingly forgotten ever after, which seemed a little odd.

Christopher is the complete opposite of Emmy, a real rolling stone who has no intention of standing still or settling down. But I liked that despite their differences, the two of them easily found common ground and things to connect over beyond their chemistry. They make an excellent team and it was easy to cheer them both on throughout, wanting them to find a way to a HEA.

Aside from the romance, the town of Sunshine and the farm itself provide a wonderful setting, peopled with fun locals. Emmy’s sisters also provide interesting contrasts, not to mention a few mysteries about just what is going on with them to bring them home. Plus a vintage wedding and a wish-granting bridge. If you like small town romances, this tale is packed with the kind of cute, endearing characteristics that made for a charming read.

In all, I really enjoyed this. It’s light and easy, fun and warm, and a mostly clean romance with good chemistry between the main characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this series.

Another sweet read with many twists and turns that kept me glued to my reader.
What I really loved about this book was the fact that even though the hero and the heroine sometimes caved in when things got rough but miraculously they are capable of talking to each other, of not misinterpreting things every five seconds but to communicate - with each other to boot. Novel idea, right?

Despite the odds are rather stacked against them, somehow Emmy and Christopher just can't help falling for each other, again. You get the chemistry between them and you feel why they just have to end up with each other and I loved to see how it all came about. Throw in some meddlesome villagers in a great community in Sunshine, one of those villages where everybody knows everything about everybody, far-traveled stuffed alligators, two-foot high, preloved trophies and an ancient wishing bridge and you have a wonderfully romantic story with amazing characters in a place that makes you long to travel there and, of course, this simply has to turn out a really good book.

I really enjoyed reading this story and I'm looking forward to other books by Amanda Ashby, namely the next books in the series "The Wedding Planner's Baby" and "Dating the Wrong Mr. Right".

Emmy Watson and her sisters inherited Whishing Bridge Farm from their aunt. Her sisters want to sell the farm, but Emmy loves it and is trying to establish a wedding and event planning business there in order to buy out her sisters. As she tries to get everything under control for her first wedding, she's shocked to find out the best man she's been tasked to pick up from the airport is her one-weekend-stand from two years ago! Christopher Henderson is a travel writer who spends his life on the road. He tried to get Emmy to come with him on an adventure after their amazing weekend, but she stood him up at the airport. Now he needs a pretend girlfriend to help him secure a TV series, but Emmy isn't going to jeopardize the wedding so keeps close tabs on Christopher. This was a cute book and I did enjoy it, but there were so many typos and missing words that it lowered my rating by a point.

This was my first read from Amanda Ashby and I really enjoyed it! It had every aspect a good romance novel would have, the love story, the heart break, the feelings!!!

Spoiler (I guess?)- one thing I didn’t really care for was the constant need of pushing each other away. It kind of made the main characters somewhat annoying. Obviously you’re going to end up together why fight it!!!

Sweet small town girl meets traveling boy. Boy invites girl to Fiji and she stands him up. 2 years later they meet up again and romance begins. Cute story and a quick read. I enjoyed Emmy and Christopher's story.

    Wonderful setting and characters!

This story was beautifully written. The characters were lovely to get to know and you really embrace the setting of Wishing Bridge Farm and Sunshine, CT. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

A fun and flirty romance. A light-hearted novel laced with nostalgia. A quick read with loveable protagonists and an interesting collection of secondary characters.

If you are looking to a beautiful, fun, flirty and sweet read then go no further than Amanda Ashby's Falling For The Best Man.

I devoured this book without realising it. I picked it up and before I knew it, I was done and turning the last page with a big fat smile on my face. I got lost in the small town romance and sweetness of the story.

Emmy and Christopher were a delight to read as they circled each other and the snap and crackle of attraction that surrounds them like air.

Add in a wonderful town full of fun characters, sisters who never do what you expect and bridezilla that will have you cringing and you get a story that will make you cheer for Emmy as she goes after what she wants and for Christopher for fighting for the girl who almost got away.

I can't wait for the next book, this was terrific start to a new series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for review.

I knew right away that I was going to enjoy this book. The way that Amanda Ashby writes is so down to earth and she makes you feel like you are a part of the story as it unfolds. I got sucked into this one and could not put it down until I was done. The best part about this is that it is a series and we get more!! Yay!

Emmy is bound and determined to save The Wishing Bridge Farm that she and her sisters have inherited, even if her sisters have no interest in the farm at all. Emmy is trying to turn the farm into a place where people want to have their wedding and she finally has the first wedding scheduled and is trying her hardest to make everything go perfectly when there is a mishap with the plumbing at the main house where everyone is supposed to be staying. Emmy has relocated everyone but the best man and has offered for him to stay with her, not having even meet the best man yet.

Emmy goes to the airport to pick up the best man and when she runs into an old flame from the one and only time she visited New York, she is shocked and tries to avoid him at all cost, but he spots her and calls to her. When Christopher quickly figures out that Emmy is the wedding planner, they can't believe their luck. Christopher is still aggravated with Emmy because she stood him up in New York and he figured they would never see each other again.

Christopher made the mistake of telling Emmy that he was going to look for a fake fiance while he was at the wedding event so that he can make his producers happy and that was the wrong thing to tell Emmy since she knew how he was. Emmy was out to make sure that Christopher did not ruin her first wedding event. As things progress and Emmy and Christopher spend more and more time together, they become closer and closer. Emmy finally tells Christopher the real reason she had to go back early and stood him up. They decide to have one night together and just make it one night. Will they be able to keep it at one night once they get a taste of each other?

The way that Christopher changes and matures throughout this story was neat to watch. Emmy grew as well but these two really were a great match. I fell in love with them both quickly and was sad to see their story come to an end but hopefully we will get to see a little more of them in the sequel books in the Sisters of Wishing Bridge Farm. Very well done Amanda Ashby! I can't wait for more!

Now this is my kind of romance novel. Falling For The Best Man drew me in from the first page, and kept my attention, the entire length of the book. The two main characters are from a different world, yet, they are each other's soulmates, no matter how much they do not want to admit it.
The conflict is real, and understandable, from both sites. What was refreshing was, that the intimate scenes were toned down, so if you prefer cleaner (not completely clean) fiction, this book is one of the better ones in this category.

I am a fan of second chance romances, which offer much tension to explore. The conversations between Christopher and Emmy were believable on all ends.
I also loved Emmy's sisters, and hope that we will read more of what was hinted about them in the upcoming books. Both of them are as well developed as Emmy's character but are completely different from her. I love that Amanda Ashby did not make them two-dimensional either, giving them a chance to grow, change and do the unexpected, even if this was not their part of this series.

Falling For The Best Man was funny, flirty, and at times unexpected, even though it dealt with more serious issues like Emma trying to keep her family's farm from getting sold right out from under her. She wants to hang on to the memories of her Great Aunt, by taking care of her legacy, while her sisters have a completely different idea for the place, they inherited together. And of course, Christopher makes everything even more complicated.

I am looking forward to the next part of this series.

    3.5-4 stars.

    This was a sweet read.

Here, we have Emmy and Christopher. They met years ago in NYC and spent a hot weekend together, only to part at the end of it. Now they meet again at a wedding Emmy is organizing, and things couldn’t be more awkward between these two… except now Christopher has to stay at Emmy’s house, lol.

There were a lot of unresolved issues between these two, mostly why Emmy didn’t want to stay with Christopher years ago. Also, they both live completely different lives with Emmy putting roots downat one place while managing her business; and Christopher always moving around the world. Things really couldn’t work between them.

There was obvious tension between them, sexual and otherwise, and it was fun to see them circle around each other, maintaining the idea they had of the other. Still, the more time they spend together, the more they start to see each other’s POV of life. There’s nothing wrong with settling down, just as there’s nothing wrong with not putting roots down.

I really wanted to know how things could work between them, not just in the way they see life, but also work-wise.

I loved the ending and also the little surprises Emmy’s sisters gave us. This should be a fun series from the looks of it, I really want to hear their stories.

    A sweet and lovely story.

Emmy Watson started a business adventure as a wedding planner in order to save Wishing Bridge Farm which has been in her family forever. Her first client happens to be a bridezilla and freaks out when disasters strike. One of the consequences of said disasters is that needs to find a place to stay for the best man, Kit Sheppard. The only solution is that Emmy offers to have the best man staying at her place. The story begins with the Emmy at the airport picking up Kit. Little does she know that Kit Sheppard is also known as Christopher Henderson who happens to be the same man that she stood up 2 years ago. As for Christopher, he is on a mission to find a fake girlfriend in order to land his dream job. Emmy finds out and can't afford anymore disasters and puts him on lockdown. But there's an undeniable attraction for each other and sparks begin to fly to more they spend time with each other.

This was a cute, romantic, HEA. I loved Christopher's character! Once they got together, he was always there looking out for Emmy even though they didn't have the greatest reunion. Although Emmy felt the same way as Christopher felt for her, something was always holding her back. It seemed like she felt guilty that whenever she left the farm, something bad would happen. In the end it all worked out!
