Everything You Need to Know About the Magic of the Moon, from Best-Selling Author Lisa Chamberlain
For Wiccans and other Pagan practitioners, the Moon is a vital presence with much to teach us—about the eternal rhythms of the Universe, the powers of Nature, and the magical potential that is ours to tap into when we align our intentions with lunar energy. For millennia, the Moon has been associated with many central concerns of human existence: love, passion, fertility, mystery, death and rebirth, and the afterlife, just to name a few. It’s no wonder that this celestial body is the domain of the Goddess in so many traditions!

Wiccans know that the Moon influences all of us, whether we realize it or not. Yet it’s not always clear what this means in the context of our day-to-day lives. The focus on the New Moon and Full Moon throughout so much of Wiccan and Pagan lore can leave the impression that the Moon’s significance is limited to these times. But in fact, each phase of the lunar cycle offers particular energies that you can attune with and harness for your specific magical goals.

This book is for anyone wanting to learn more about the connections between the Moon and the practice of magic. While much of the information comes from a Wiccan perspective, and it is designed to include newcomers to Wicca, the broader focus of Moon Magic provides a rich foundation for enhancing your personal practice of magic through working with lunar energies.

Foundations of Lunar Magic
Many books about Wicca and magic will tell you that the waxing Moon is a time for attracting and the waning Moon is for banishing, but in reality, there’s much more to it than that. Moon Magic takes an in-depth look at the lunar cycle, providing limitless possibilities for working with these multifaceted energies. The practical elements are accessible enough for beginners, yet those with more magical experience will still find plenty of new ideas, concepts, and tips to enhance their practice. In this book, you’ll find:

How the Moon’s energy influences the Earth, animals, and people
The core elements of the Moon in Wiccan spiritual practice
How the Triple Goddess in each of her aspects—Maiden, Mother, and Crone—aligns with the lunar cycle, and how each aspect can assist you with manifesting your magical goals
A detailed breakdown of magical properties of the lunar cycle, beginning with the New Moon and moving through all 9 phases of the Moon’s journey around the Earth
Working magic on Blue Moons and Lunar Eclipses
Spells for each phase of the lunar cycle, as well as magical recipes, techniques, and correspondences—all focused on making the most out of your connection to the Moon’s amazing power

So whether you follow a particular tradition of Wicca, Witchcraft, or another Pagan path, or an eclectic combination of all three—or even if you’re simply just curious!—you will find plenty of useful information within these pages.

Wicca Moon Magic: A Wiccan's Guide and Grimoire for Working Magic with Lunar Energies Reviews

  • Dorian Jandreau

This this book author speaks of the Moon and how it affects us we wants it or not. She explains how the Moon is related to Wheel of the Year and what spells are best to be used during particular Moon phases. The book also includes very few spells and Tables of Correspondences.

  • Stephanie ((Strazzybooks))

Accessible, informative, well-written. Tomorrow is a full moon, lunar eclipse, and blue moon.🌝🖤🌕

  • Plateresca

This is a very concise booklet with the basics of moon magic; very good for beginners, I think.

  • BJ

This is a very solid book on the phases of the moon and their energies, and how you can use that information in your every day activities and witchy practices. It also covers some moon lore and goddesses generally associated with the moon as well as those associated with specific phases of the moon.

I personally enjoy these types of books significantly more when the authors include their personal anecdotes and practices. I feel it breaks up the more matter-of-fact exposition to make the material more engaging. This book is purely informational.

I would have also enjoyed a wider cultural perspective of the moon, its symbolism, and use in practice, but the author is very clear up front that it is predominantly a Wiccan guide, so it's perhaps unfair to expect much more than that.

Overall, I think this book will live with a handful of other books off the shelf and within reach, to serve as a reference that I will likely go back to again and again.

  • Salem S

I appreciate that this book is applicable to more than just Wiccan Craft practices.

Moon magic for initiates and the curious

A nice little overview from 30,000 feet (or should I say 238,900 miles?) VERY general and touches on a lot of things I would’ve wanted to know more about, some things I already knew about, and many things I hadn’t thought of. Overall I don’t think it’s my style of moon appreciation exactly but definitely gave me ideas to think about when i do.

  • Artemis Crescent

A nice, brief introduction to Moon magic, the lunar cycles and the orbital rock's many phases, quarters, correspondences, and all-around energies. I've always been so fascinated by our moon - its influences everywhere, its gravity and magnetic energies happening in seasons all over the earth, its association with Goddesses and feminine power - and reading this is interesting to me.

I also finally understand the differences between a waxing and waning Moon!

Another quick, beginner-friendly, informative read on aspects of Wicca and Witchcraft (plus appropriate spell and ritual suggestions and guidelines) by Lisa Chamberlain.

    Final Score: 4/5

    Another wonderful guide!

I absolutely love Lisa Chamberlain's guides for newbies! She's never condescending in her books. I love that she stresses follow your own instincts and do what feels right to you. This one in particular is a good beginner's guide to understanding Moon Magic. It gave me a good guideline so I know where to start. The moon has always called to me so it's time I use that energy. I love the information on the phases too as I have trouble remembering which side is in shadow when. I also appreciate the book recommendations at the end of each guide.

  • Jeanne Ruczhak-Eckman

What a great overview of the lunar cycles and energy and interaction with pretty much everything! Lisa Chamberlain has a wonderful writing style as well. I felt like she was educating me but never did I feel like I was being talked down to. She writes in a very easy style to follow. I've had this book out from Kindle awhile ago. I kept going back and re-reading parts as the moon went through her cycles!

  • Melissa Gray

    An excellent introduction

This is a great guide to the moon cycles, meanings and moon magic in general. I have read a few of her books and I like her writing style; it flows nicely and is easy to follow. She briefly touches on astrology but since it's a short guide, she recommends other books/authors for more information on that subject.

  • Serenas.Network (Serena'S)

I am a newbie this was very good simple to understand it made allot of good ways to help me on my way

I luv this one I've got a few more of this author to read I found nothing in it wrong but I'm learning so that's what this book is to learn its quite well done thank you

  • Suzanne Allen

    Another addition to my library!

As usual, informative, interesting and enjoyable. I always find something in these books I didn’t know and that I want to be able to refer back to. That makes these little gems a great addition to any magical library.

  • Jen

    No fluff, just the facts

I really like that this book wasn’t fluffy and filled with personal anecdotes, poetry, frilly writing, etc. it got right down to business and explained things in a straightforward and easy to understand manner, without seeming like a textbook. I dig it!

  • Lita

Amusing to me since I don't actually believe in this stuff. Would be interesting to see if any of the "spells" for wealth/funds/money actually work but then I would have to spend money on the supplies and keep my request "reasonable".

  • M.C.V. Egan

    Great Graphics and Well Organized

This book is fun, interesting, informative . We could all benefit from a little or a lot of magic in our lives.
This book is a fabulous reference and guide to embrace that in our lives. LOVE IT!

  • Madalynn M.

    Ok to start with

I found this to be pretty okay for beginners but I think it didn’t really wow me. I find the correspondence in the back useful but wish it was more in depth there. I feel there was just something lacking here, I was left wanting by more and not in a good way.

  • Hazel Plumridge

Really informative for beginners and seasoned witches!

I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about working with the moon. It's great for beginners but also has bytes of knowledge that someone more advanced may not know yet.

  • Cathy Addley

    good basic moon knowledge

  • Carrie (The Butterfly Reader)

    Great as Always!

Simple. Easy to follow but gives a lot of great information for beginners. I love this series and can't wait to continue.

  • Lyn

Engaging and informative. I will be reviewing it again and again. I've already done that several times.

  • Nicki Handley

    Loved the book

I thought it was a great book
Made me understand the moon more and when the best time to do spells is for your intention.

  • Mimi Carstairs

An amazing introductory book on the power of the moon. Accessible to everyone, not only Wiccans! And it's free with Kindle Unlimited soooo.

  • Melissa

    Interesting

Has some interesting things in it about lunar energy and how it effects people. Plus talks about each phases of the moon.

  • Roxanne

    A decent primer

A decent enough primer for novices. It doesn’t go in to a huge amount of depth but is a good starting point.

  • Lindsey Baird-Waugh

Another great starter book for those who are interested in Wicca, of you fancy joining this life style Bor just want to learn and know more about it.

  • Amber Stubert

    Neat little book!
