I'm the hottest guy at State. It's not cocky when it's the truth. Girls want to date me. Guys want to be me. Cliche, I know, but welcome to my life.
There's more to me than what they all see though. Isn't that usually the case? No one knows the reality of my life. They think they do, but they have no idea. I hide it well. I have to or it will break me.
Jess Michaelson is gorgeous, ambitious and totally wants me. She doesn't hide it well. Honestly, I'm not sure she even tries. Jess thinks I'll give up pursuing her... but I won't. She thinks this is just some game I'm playing at... but it's not.
Jess belongs with me and I'm going to make sure she knows it.

For all the fans of the angst, all consuming love and redemption of J. Sterling’s The Perfect Game, you will devour this book. No Bad Days was a great NA read that didn’t stress me out quite as much as TPG, and had a hero who was the perfect mix of jerk and sweet guy. Jess has had a crush on the hot man on campus, Nick Fisher for the longest time. She knows it’s probably not the smartest thing, but she can’t help it. And Nick Fisher doesn’t really know she exists so it’s all good.
Common sense warned me that I shouldn’t want a guy like Nick the way every other girl did, but the rest of me refused to agree. I shouldn’t like him, but I did. I shouldn’t be interested in him at all, but I was. I was a fool for his charms, and I didn’t even care.
But Nick does notice Jess, in a big way. She’s different than all the girls that valley for his attention. Nick dates, but he usually knows after a date or two that the girl is not for him, so he moves on. But there is something special about Jess. After a few dates, it’s apparent he doesn’t want to be away from her. But Nick doesn’t always get what he wants. His life is much more complicated than people realize…
Nick is one of those characters that I wasn’t sure about at first. There are moments at the beginning where he feels a little full of himself and jerky, but I grew to love him as the story went on! I felt like his actions that peeved me were justified and he was easily redeemable for any wrong doing. He truly loves Jess and it’s evident. I loved Jess. I thought she was a great heroine and her friendship with her roomie made me LOL more than once.
Nick and Jess have a beautiful and believable love story. If you love NA books, angsty reads and love conquers all type stories, this is the book for you. Also- I cannot wait to get the two older Fisher brother’s books! Especially Ryan’s! GIMMIE!
“We’ll be a team, you and me, us against the world, and God help anyone who tries to break us apart or stand in our way.”

Overall Opinion: Well...I think I was expecting too much from this one, because I'm honestly disappointed. The sample sucked me it, but I soon realized that it wasn't going to be what I had expected once I bought the rest of it. I didn't feel their connection. It was a little too instalove in the sense that I didn't get their progression into stronger feelings or even understand the supposed depth of their feelings. I also got irritated with one scene that felt way too immature and didn't have any purpose in the big picture except to leave me confused as to why the author even put it in there. . Maybe I'm just getting too old ;). This also had a big pet peeve of mine -- bad communication! Their big conflict could've easily been resolved if they just TALKED TO EACH OTHER! The ending was wrapped up too neatly to my liking, and I also still had some unanswered questions left that weren't even addressed at all. Overall, I was just disappointed.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Jess and Nick's story. They meet on the first day of class. Jess is a sophomore, and Nick is the popular senior. He starts pursuing her and they start dating. There is more to Nick than meets the eye, and Jess soon finds out that he has some struggles that he is facing. They spend more and more time together and fall in love, but certain circumstances has them separate...they do get back together and get a HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Jess and Nick's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I read it quickly, so that tells me that it flowed well. I also never skimmed. It did feel like it was rushed towards the end and everything was fixed way too easily to be believable for me.
Instalove: Kind of. They didn't know each other long before they were having stronger feelings. It might just be that I didn't see the progression -- they started dating then BAM! they're in love!
H rating: 3 stars. Nick. He was ok. I wanted him to communicate better and stop the stupid martyr act.
h rating: 3 stars. Jess. She was ok. I wanted her to make the H work a little harder for her forgiveness at times.
Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Low. They don't have many scenes, and they are pretty mild.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No (see spoiler below)
Separation: Yes
Possible Triggers: Not really
Closure: This had an ok ending, but I still had some unanswered questions. I would call it a HFN ending
How I got it: I paid the $3.99 on Amazon for it (when I went to post my review on Amazon, I noticed that it's now part of KU -- so I got a refund)
Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception depending on personal preferences. -
4-4.5 stars <333
Such a lovely story!!I really liked this one, J. Sterling delivers a refreshing, sweet, beautiful and sexy story. This is my second book by her and I'm impressed with her ability to create original characters!!
What I love more about J Sterling's books are her characters. In No Bad Days you'll find two amazing characters who were realistic and you could easily connect with them!
The chemistry between Nick and Jess was fantastic. They were adorable and sexy.I loved Nick so much and I can't wait for you to meet him and fell in love with him like I did!!
This is up for PREORDER and it's only 99 cents. So if you are looking for a fast paced read check this one.I'm sure you'll fell in love with Nick!!!

I am really want to give this book 4 stars. But i settle with 3 stars. No Bad Days reminds me a lot of Abby Glines books. It is for new adult audience.
The thing that i like about this book is actually nick's family. His brothers and his dad. I can actually symphatize with him how his dad controlls every aspect of Nick's life. Another thing is the writting. The writting is ok and light. Bit cheesy on the romance.
Things that i dont like:
1. The story is poorly develop. The twist, the drama, the angst is very very shallow and badly develop.
2. There is that much insta love. I do not get what is the attraction between Jess and Nick. So when they fall for each other, i can not feel it. I feel they are forced to be together by the author.
3. The lame background story and suporting characters like Nick's dad, Carla, is also badly executed.
I do still enjoy reading it as a light reading. Hence 3 stars -
This was is the first book in the Fisher Brothers series. This one is coming of age story focusing on Nick and Jess, who meet in college.
Nick is very well known and popular but that also coms with a healthy dose of cockiness and arrogance.
When Nick sets his sights on Jess he has his work cut out for him. Jess is not the sort of girl you mess around with, she is a girl you have a relationship with i.e. girlfriend material. This is not normal behaviour for Nick so everyone is fascinated with this new development in his life.
Jess falls hard for Nick and has never felt so settle and happy. His brothers are fantastic and she is basking in the love and happiness she feels with Nick.
Nick has issues with his dad that potentially could impact his entire future and being able to share the weight of those with Jess is a relief really. Having someone special to share his fears and hopes with is not something he has had before.
When Jess gets news that will impact her education and career, Nick does not take well. At all.
This is when Nick turns into a total douche. In fairness he is feeling hurt and conflicted about what he is feeling for Jess but still.... And then he does something truly silly and I was like WTF?!
So yep, another great read from Jenn and I am looking forward to getting to know the rest of the Fisher boys better. -
Finally. It's over.
Whew. Man. This book sucked. The beginning wasn't too bad, but it took everything I had to finish this book. I stopped and started so many times. Then when I got to 70% I put it down for a while. But it was clogging up my library so I toughed it out to finish. I'm not gonna lie. I skimmed the last 90%. It was way longer than it should of been. The characters were both annoying. I honestly didn't even care that he was going to marry Carla and ruin his life. I just wished Jess would shut up and move on. All her moping was enough to make me want to throw my phone. All of their problems were drawn out and resolved quickly at the end. The book probably would have been better without all of the other unnecessary whining. This should of been a novella or something. It's like when someone takes forever to make their point. I feel bad for this review, but this book just wasn't good to me. -
DNF...got about 45% done and I COULD NOT go any further. I don't understand why the "Latin" roommate kept calling other girls who weren't her roommate a "puta". what's up with that?

No Bad Days (Fisher Brothers #1) by J Sterling
4 stars!!!
“…it was us against the world, and God help anyone who got in our way or tried to break us apart…”
J Sterling is one of my “I must read authors,” she never fails to deliver an angsty, swoon worthy story and always nails that character connection. While No Bad Days is not as angsty as her norm, there were a few tears shed from this over emotional reader, so once again, J Sterling got me again and even though I am over forty, I still love my college romances and this one ticks all those boxes. This was a book I picked up and didn’t put down till I had finished.
Nick Fisher is the guy that all the other guys want to be and all the girls want to be with. He is the President of his fraternity, is extremely popular with both sexes, of course, drop dead gorgeous but unlike most frat boys is picky with his hook-ups and relationships. While on the outside he is an egotistical rich kid he only lets people see what he wants them to see. Nick keeps his cards close to his chest, especially when it comes to family and his life in general.
Jess Michaelson is your average student, she doesn’t come from wealth, she doesn’t draw attention to herself, she is clever, motivated and knows what she wants from college life. She is not oblivious to Nick Fisher, the whole college lets you know when he is in the vicinity, but he was someone she had watched from afar, knowing that there wasn’t a chance he would notice her…until he did.
“I’m already stupidly crushing on him, no thanks to you. But if I go out with him, he’s going to break me. I’m sensitive, Rach. I want the guy I go out with to actually like me back.”
Frat Nick and Jess Nick were two totally different people and I loved the fact that Nick held the real him back for the people that mattered. While it takes a little time for these two to really connect, that getting to know you faze was adorable with a capital A. The openness between them, the sharing of vulnerabilities and the not so savoury parts of their lives went a long way to show from the start how in tune with each other they were. The chemistry was apparent in spades and as always with a J Sterling read, intense character connection.
“There were no words for kisses like those; they were intimate, conveying a depth of emotion that forged bonds between us.”
As with any college romance there are highs and lows, jealousy and gossip is rife, but when these two were together, they were all that mattered, they were all the other one saw. They have mountains to climb, they have their problems to overcome but are they insurmountable?
“She’d leave thinking I didn’t want her anymore. She’d leave thinking I was perfectly intact, when the truth was I would never be whole again.”
I cannot wait for the rest of the Fisher boys; Nick’s brothers are introduced in this book and with them being a fair bit older than Nick their stories are going to be “adult.” What the hell could two handsome, bar owners get up to? A lot!! Cannot wait, bring it on Jen.

The first half of the book was great. The other half, not so much. I got bored and got annoyed.
-
DNF
He is a spineless idiot nothing to add
She forgive him as a doormat
Well no !! -
I think I’m just too old for this shit. I didn’t feel the feels, they spent more of the book separated (for daft reasons) than together and I hated the bitchy girls and the PDAs. I’m glad it was a freebie that’s all I can say.
Complete story. I’d be more interested in reading his older brothers’ stories, this boy was too wet behind the ears and gullible for me. -
DNF @ 20%.
Um, so I was honestly expecting something different than what I got here. The blurb sounded great and I wish the book was the same. Everything just felt too easy if that makes sense and I was not hooked. I've read many books in contemporary romance, hell that's all I read, that take place in college, so I was hoping - and praying - this would have something unique about it because than it would have been boring. I do love J. Sterling's books and this isn't going to stop me from reading her books in the future.
An arc was provided in exchange for an honest review. -
I was hooked from the first chapter and literally couldn't put my kindle down. I loved Nick and the fact that Jess didn't take any nonsense from him was great! She called him out on his shit and it was also great seeing things from his POV.
His brothers and Jess's friends made great secondary characters. Can't wait for the next books! -
I’m coming. I miss you so damn much. I can’t do this without you anymore. You need to come home. I need you. I love you.
Now while this might not be my favorite story of J. Sterling it was definitely one that I enjoyed. It is sweet and full of angst with so many lines that I loved for the love it portrayed or simply for making me laugh. What I love about Sterling's writing is her ability to create characters that are so easily lovable even when they are doing things that could have been avoided. But being pro angst in books, who am I to complain. Lol!
If you love a good New Adult Romance with a bucket full of angst and a constant back and forth between the characters and side characters then this book will definitely do the job for you. For fans of new adult romances with a lot of angst and back & forth are going to eat this book up.
But like with any book, this too had its flaws, such as I would have liked Nick to have more of a backbone and be able to stand up for himself. Another thing that I wanted to see was Nick's interaction with his dad.
I loved Jess. She was strong and firm in her decisions even when her heart was breaking into a million pieces.
With clean topics and clear cut story, No Bad Days is suitable for the younger readers. Now, what I want to read is Frank and Ryan Fisher's story. Them having ten years over Nick gives them more maturity and advantage and I would love to see how Sterling goes through with their story.
4 Stars!

J. Sterling has a new series featuring three sexy brothers. No Bad Days is the first in the series and features the youngest brother, Nick Fisher. Nick is a senior in college. On the surface it appears that Nick has led the enchanted life. He has a reputation of being a ladies man. He's the president of his fraternity. It's very clear he's extremely intelligent and has a very bright future ahead. Beneath the surface is a very troubled young man. A young man that is being controlled by his father. His dreams for the future are being crushed. He can't even tell his older brothers because the father they grew up with was a different kind of man. He's hanging onto his college days and freedom for dear life. When he meets a girl that could make a difference in his future, his life begins to spiral out of control once again.
Jess Michaelson has secretly crushed on Nick Fisher. When their paths finally cross she meets a different Nick Fisher than most people know. Jess and Nick click on every level. Their relationship is going full speed ahead until life rears it's ugly head. Jess is being forced to switch schools because of her major. Nick can't handle long distance relationships. A vicious woman is waiting on the sidelines to swoop in and grab Nick by the balls.
What happens next? Some very bad decisions that destroy everything Nick and Jess had.
For fans of new adult romances with a lot of angst and back & forth are going to eat this book up. For me it was a bit predictable and immature. I wanted Nick to have more substance and backbone. I loved Jess and the strength she was able to muster in a bad situation. Overall I think this book is for a younger reader base.
I am looking forward to Nick's older brothers stories. These guys have ten years on Nick and a lot more life experiences. I think I will be able to relate to their stories a little more. -
My first book by this author, I really liked it.
The plot was enjoyable, a high school romance were the player falls for his forever girl and goes from douch to bbf.
Nick Fisher is the hottie in school, lives in a frat house and president of his fraternity chapter, he's a serial dater but when he meets Jess his playdays are over.
I like this kind of story where a douche becomes an adorable bbbf, Nick was tired of keeping up appearances dating the spoiled princess kind of girls and Jess was the only girl not falling all over him and that made her stand out.
Jess I thought was a little to easy though, she wasn't like other girls wanting to be with Nick for popularity but at the same time Nick didn't have to chase her, she was head over heels and gave in to easily, forgave to easily and I do prefer a stronger character.
No bad days focuses on Nick and Jess's relationship, the pressures Nick faces from his dad about taking over the business, wanting to control him even down to choosing the daughter of a business partner for him to date and then added pressures of Jess moving away to another school.
The whole plot was interesting and kept me turning the pages, I really liked the other characters too, Jess's friend Rachel, now she was a girl with backbone, I liked her and Nicks brothers who I would also love to read about in their own books, the guys had banter and a dynamic that I liked.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea
No cheating very little drama or angst, one sex scene, a safe enjoyable read.

Disappointment. I expected better and more from an author like J. Sterling.
This is my opinion. You may love it. Reading is subjective.
This story just felt off.
The heroine has had a crush on the hero like every other girl on campus. The hero knows he is wanted, but the minute he walks into class and sees the heroine, he wants her?!?!?
The way the heroine was dressed for class sounded like what every other girl would be wearing to get a guy's attention. (Loc Page 9) It was just all cheesy. It would have been more believable to me if the girl did not want the hero as much as every other girl on campus.
The hero has some baggage. His father wants him to marry some Carla Crawford, So predictable and the heroine is so weak to forgive so quickly. The angst was weak or maybe I just did not care about this couple enough to feel anything. -
Sometimes you like a book more because the setting is where you live, and other times things bother you about the book more because the setting is where you live.....
For this book it was the later; at a big public university in California, I seriously doubt there is any sort of popular guy on campus, with 45,000 students....not to mention these were fictitious colleges, and the entire reason for Jes leaving school, would have never happened that way,or even at all, but I digress.... I really like Nick, and I think I will like his brothers even more..... and really besides the fact that he was letting his father dictate his life, he really was a good guy, who made a few Bad choices....Jess was likable, but however like A lot of girls her age she was very conflicted as to what she really wanted; sometimes it is hard to be strong and not stupid.... good story, just missing just a little something, but I can see some good things coming from these Fisher Brothers! -
Iffy feelings about this one.
I liked the first half of this story, so much. The romance seemed cute, and I liked Nick. He was a bit cocky, but I liked it because Jess liked it.
Then, I just couldn't take it. The main angst was so irritating. Like GROW A PAIR NICK! How was he so confident in every aspect of life, except that one. I don't want to spoil it.
I really liked the side plot about the Brothers and the bar. It seems like it could move on to be a good story line. I'll continue with the series for sure, but I'm still mad at Nick for being a weakling. Like what in the world?
Sigh. -
First part of the book was a solid 4 star for me. And then all the angst happened and over the top events happened so that took it to more like a 2.5. I know there has to be a problem happen or something that causes problems in a contemporary romance, but sometimes it's just too much. Narration was excellent as always with these narrators and I gave it 4.5 stars. So 3 stars seems to be about right. I hate that too because I really did enjoy a big part of the listen. I really loved the heroine but the hero needed to grow a spine! I also loved the heroine's best friend and her roommate. The hero's brothers were good characters too. The bad guy(girl)was suitably horrible and I wanted to tell her off myself. I really hope people like her do not actually exist! So yes, there's a lot of good here if you forget about the last half of the book and all the "events" that made me yell out loud at the story as I listened.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I liked it. It was a good book that had an enjoyable storyline. The characters were likeable and had good chemistry. I thought it was well-written and I would happily read more of this authors work. I would now like to read books about some of the other characters that were featured in this story.

I love J Sterlings books and this one didn't disappoint. I love the intensity she manages to build in her books and how you feel as if your right in the book with them. Another great read
-
I’m only reviewing this book to explain my one star rating, which might seem a little unfair. Because I’m usually of the mind NOTHING could really merit one star just as nothing could really merit a perfect rating either. Nobody sets out to fail. Even bad work has something to admire in it just as masterpieces have weaknesses (after all, the creative process often is all about getting to the point in your work where you’re comfortable resigning to your mistakes).
The unfair part of my one star review is I’m generally not a fan of Romance. With few exceptions (Stylo Fantima being a recent one), I just can’t relate to it. I love LOVE and I dig the occasional romantic comedy (in honesty even that’s kinda pushing things...I like some of Gary Marshall and Nora Ephron’s films). It might not qualify as a romance story, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rust and Bone. One of my favorite books and movies.
(Sorry for the self indulgent prelude here.)
I thought No Bad Days might be along the lines of something more FRANK or with a little more, I guess, dirt under the fingernails, if you will. I couldn’t believe Sterling put these two meatheads on offer as people who have “more to them than your average person.” That’s comical. The dude is considered complicated because he has a role about not taking his friends’ sloppy seconds -- which is HUGE, I guess, because he is something of a meatstick, right? What a guy.
The girl we are lead to believe doesn’t have a self esteem issue for getting with the guy. I get it. College kids are all about sex. It’s probably a sorta realistic characterization because shallow, dim people never see themselves that way. Of course they’d think they had something special because we are all the stars of our own lives.
I don’t engage with ANYTHING hoping dislike it. I am discerning, but by no means elitist. I want to love everything I read. Sadly there were no sparks for me.
Avoid this book. Kill it with fire!
Unless you like this sort of thing. Then maybe you’d like it. -
I wanted to like this book but just couldn't. I didn't feel any connection with the characters or get any real sense of chemistry. Nick's relationship with his dad was the weirdest I've ever read. We're constantly told what an awful father he's been to Nick while being a completely different person with his brothers. Nick never stands up to him and just goes along with everything he says but we are never told why. What would the repercussions have been if he did? We never find out because he never did it. We're told he wasn't violent or abusive and it doesn't sound like he would have had any major punishment in mind for Nick if he had stood up to him but still Nick never did. Why? And then when it all finally comes to a head the father just rolls over and says "ok". If that was it why the hell didn't Nick do it years ago? I don't get it. it made no sense to me.
-
If you loved The Perfect Game, you are going to adore No Bad Days. Jenn writes books that have the perfect blend of love, angst and humor – I just don’t know how she does it. No Bad Days pulled my heart in so many different directions. I honestly could not put the book down once I started.
Jess and Nick’s story pulled at my heartstrings. The ladies man meets the nice girl and proceeds to have a relationship that crushed me but also made me fall in desperately in love with both characters. I had forgotten how amazing Jenn’s college romances could be; a ride of up and down emotions that keeps you hanging on and gasping for your next breath.
On a side note, I think Rachel needs her own book. -
Luckily I got this book for free through Amazon prime reading. Nick is a spineless jerk. He does stupid things, then apologizes and Jess immediately forgives him. I guess it is OK for a guy to treat you like crap over and over, as long as he is hot. That is all Jess had to say about Nick, is how hot he was. He really didn't have any other redeeming qualities. They spend more time apart then they do together. I really liked the beginning of this book, but it went downhill fast. I ended up skimming a lot towards the end, because I just wanted it to be over. There is a lot of repetitive writing and some grammatical errors.
-
Well, Wow is all I can say J. Sterling has done it again . This book has become one of my favourites of her's. You can tell she puts her Heart and Soul into her writing and this book was no exception. I was laughing and Crying so had at times I couldn't see the words I was reading. The chemistry between Nick and Jess was fantastic, and at times I wanted to punch both characters in the face and tell them to trust their hearts lol. I can't wait to read Frank's and Ryan's stories I'm so excited for them. I love the detailed scene she paints the pictures of just fantastic xx
-
Awesome
This is one of those books that has been on my kindle for a while unread. What was I thinking!! It's a great NA book that is wonderfully written with some amazing characters, both main and secondary. I did want to smack Nick up side the head at times but he's just so cute and sweet you can't help but love him. Can't wait to read more about these Fisher brothers. I highly recommend this one. -
This was just meh for me. I have a thing against guys that can't stand up against their parents. Yuck. I also didn't really believe the resolution of the story line with his dad (well isn't that a pretty little bow). I am looking forward to the brothers' books.
