  Another pleasant and informative book by this Author.
  
  The author reveals some very interesting points about the two Lives Of Cuthbert that we know about, and that is they use the psalm and bible quotes to give insight into Cuthbert as a person rather than dealing with reported facts about his activities. The writers of the books were so steeped in the psalms and literature of the bible, having nothing else to read at the time and place they loved, that it was only natural they would see things through the lease of these texts.
  
  You won’t come away with any solid hard facts about Cuthbert growing up and coming of age, etc, but you will find yourself having a greater appreciation for him and his time and the inner lives of the monks.
  
  Like other books by this author, reading it is like experiencing the scent of perfume or incense.
