With more than 100 mouthwatering recipes, menus, and gorgeous color photographs, SugarDetox.Me is on a mission to help readers shake their addiction to the sweet stuff. It not only arms you with scientific knowledge about the harmful effects of sugar, it offers an achievable strategy for detoxing safely and effectively—including 10 Meal Maps. These maps explain how to create multiple meals, maximize each ingredient, minimize waste, and save money. There’s no economizing when it comes to flavor, though— each recipe delivers healthy, delicious food. Enjoy a breakfast of an egg, sunny side up, over cauliflower and bacon with potato hash; a light lunch of mixed salad greens with chili and sage-roasted acorn squash; and a memorable dinner of savory seared scallops over marinated mushrooms, corn mash, and red sorrel. And, to satisfy your sweet tooth without sugar, there’s even a chilled bowl of banana-almond butter “ice cream.”

This is basically full of poached eggs and kale recipes. I need a little more than that...

This book has recipes for a wide variety of foods with the ultimate goal of helping you decrease your sugar intake. The recipes seem exotic, but the ingredients are readily available and good results are easy to achieve. Every recipe I tried turned out perfectly and deliciously. Sugar? Just make those kale chips again!

This book is gorgeous! High quality print, beautiful pictures, nice paper, nice illustrations and design overall. My favorite are the meal maps Summer created! I go to the store and buy everything on the list in amounts specified and then I cook everything on the plan in the prescribed order. It’s so simple!!! The foods are delicious. I have learned so much about how to handle certain ingredients! I have never used shallots before, or portobello caps, but now I know exactly how to take advantage of these amazing ingredients! Summer offers 10 meal maps at the end of the book. That’s basically 10 weeks worth of recipes for healthy eating!! Shopping was so much fun, and cooking is all the more fun. The recipes are easy (except I’m confused about cooking artichokes in ice water 🤨). The food is delicious!! 😋 I serve everything on a bed of greens to make it more substantial and more filling. One of the hardest things when quitting no sugar is convincing your body you’re full.
As for everyone complaining about eggs... this book calls for a lot fewer eggs than I normally eat. Eggs are good for you, people. -
I like Summer Rayne Oakes a lot, which I think may skew my rating of this book a bit. It's beautiful and helpful, but there are an awful lot of kale and egg recipes. However, I like the multiple variations of meals containing a finite number of ingredients. This feels practical to me. I'm not going to use recipes with strange, expensive, one-use ingredients. What I need more is a formula for how to cook with the basics in ways that are healthy and won't bore me to death. Oakes delivers.

Wow that was a lot of kale...but there were some good recipes!

This is a good starter book. I have read several sugar detox books, so she didn't tell me anything new. Only about four recipes really stand out from the typical canon of sugar detox recipe books.

A beautiful book, nice lay-out. Unfortunately, the recipes didn't do much for me.

Ok read if you are looking to detox sugar from your life. I thought it was just an ok book. I didn't love some of the recipes - didn't really catch my attention. But the advice isn't bad.
