Four friends, a failed detective agency, and a haunted house. At least they remembered to bring the vodka.
Victoria Morgan and Julie Thompson were the proud owners of a private investigation firm until it hit the skids. Was it their unconventional detective skills? Their lack of experience? Or was it the complete absence of feng shui in their business space?
Whatever the case, they aren’t going down without a fight. Which is why they take on a job—a job no one else will touch—spend the night in a haunted mansion and capture a ghost on video.
First order of business: conduct a séance. Long-time friend and part-time psychic, Laini, agrees to officiate in the ghost hunt. Beautiful socialite, Amanda, comes along for the amusement and cocktails. But when one of the team disappears without a trace, the unearthly quest turns deadly.
What’s Wrong With What’s-Her-Name? is author Valerie Clay’s second novel in a laugh-out-loud mystery series featuring nail-biting suspense, loyal friendships, sizzling romance, and a touch of the supernatural.

The Stooges (the female version) are back with a vengence!
An absolute delight. Delightful banter, humour, mystery and characters that are quirky, zany and very much one of a kind all wrapped up in a delightful plot that will have you racing through the book. A haunted house, Halloween, a seance, a ghost and terrorists - what more could you wish for? Can they follow the clues and end the attack planned? An absolute must read!! -
Book 2 was another enjoyable book in the series about four former sorority sisters who are still friends and living in Seattle. Since the first book, two of them have opened a private investigator firm.
This book opens with a seance to be held in a “murder house” on Halloween, with the assignment being to prove that the house is really haunted. The plot quickly changes to an edge of your seat adventure.
The real star of the book, as with the first one, is Carl the dachshund. -
Very entertaining!
