Just a Kiss in the Moonlight (Georgia Moon Romance #2) Reviews
-
I am really loving this series. Lots of great characters and the chemistry between them is perfect. Taylin is the younger twin sister of Chase, who was the MC from
Under a Georgia Moon. Taylin has recently finished her nursing degree and moved home. She works at the hospital with the babies in Labor and Delivery and the Nursery. She loves her job. But her social life is a little lackluster right now. Her current boyfriend thinks of her more as a maid and cook than as a girlfriend. Her family is all doing great things and moving on with their lives, while hers feels static. She volunteers at her church, helping with the youth programs and feels great satisfaction in that and loves the youth. But, she just feels stuck. Until one day, she walks into him. Oh goodness, do the sparks ever fly. Except he's cold and rude. Sheesh! It's not like she's going to fall at his feet and beg him to marry her...well maybe in her dreams. She has a lot more class than that. Don't worry, Luke, she's gonna steer clear of you. That is, until she has to interview you and continue to find herself in your presence. But she didn't orchestrate it, she promises.
Luke has recently moved from Montana to Georgia. He needed to get away. His ex-wife has wreaked enough havoc on his life. He's forgiven her and taken her back more than enough times to know that she isn't going to change. Now that she's had another man's baby, the baby that Luke wished they could have had together and been a family, he can't keep running into her. So he transfers, buys a house and is happy to live his days out working, and fishing on his lake from his boat. His good friends, the youth pastor and his wife, understand his need for healing and have helped him with the transition. If only all the women at work would just stop flirting with him and let him get on with healing. His aloof demeanor is working great, until he runs into her. Repeatedly. She's beautiful and sweet and kind and everything that he wants but she'll break his heart too. Better to just hide away from women than have his heart torn to pieces again and again and again.
Well, of course they can't stay away from each other. They start to build a sweet friendship, with plenty of ups and downs. Until the biggest downer comes...his ex-wife. Now what havoc does she want to inflict upon Luke. Can he and Taylin keep their relationship moving forward and finally admit that they love each other? Or will they be pulled apart after all the hard work it took to admit their growing feelings towards each other?
This series (yes I read the third one right after reading this one and now finally writing my review) is great because all the characters have been mentioned in the first book and continue to show up throughout. I love that! I love seeing where characters from previous books are at in life and feeling like they're still thriving in their happily ever after-ing. This one has plenty of sparks, tension, crazy moments, tender moments, and yes a sweet happy ever after for everyone! Go read this series now!
Content: Clean. Kissing. Some emotional issues resulting after a divorce and not the healthiest of marriage relationship but not anything too sensitive.
Kindle freebie many months ago, that I dug out of the depths (finally)!
Happy Reading!!! -
This is two-thirds of a great romance. Which is to say that I deeply enjoyed the first two-thirds of this story. The leads are fantastic and I loved how they got along. I could have done with Luke being less of a grumpypants but he gets over himself enough for me to be content with Taylin falling for the guy. I was almost right there with her when the story kersploded.
No spoilers, but I knew we were in for trouble when the I love yous had been expressed with real depth behind them and I still had so much of the story left to go. That never bodes well and this is no exception.
So yeah, we have a sweet, charming romance and some people I really liked and I really wanted them to be happily ever after. Seriously, you could do worse than to simply stop reading at about the two-thirds mark when they exchange the heartfelt I love yous.
A note about the series: While related to
Under a Georgia Moon, you really don't need it to enjoy this book. Anderson even slips an extra six years or so in there so Taylin is old enough to take seriously as a romantic (adult) read. Which means enough time has passed that getting to know her in that novel doesn't really enhance this one at all.
A note about religion: Anderson's characters are strongly religious, but in a denomination that feels mostly protestant (could be Presbyterian as many of the trappings felt a lot like Melissa's grandfather's congregation). So it's really strange that all these main characters don't drink alcohol. They don't make a big deal about it, but in both this and the previous novel the main characters have an opportunity to drink and say "I don't drink alcohol". This feels weird to me and a lot like Anderson is hiding Mormons in her books. It's not religious because the characters aren't Mormon or Muslim. Yeah, it happens, sure. But usually with an obvious or explicit reason (like recovering from alcoholism or in training for sports). And then having Luke be all "I don't like coffee" at random just drove that nail deeper. I don't know if Anderson is LDS or not, but it certainly feels like she's got LDS ninjas taking over her characters. If she is LDS, then I recommend that she get over this odd cultural tick (or make her characters LDS and be done with it).
Oooooh. LDS ninjas! We totally need to order us some of those! -
5+++ Stars!! Taylin is a new baby nurse. Short and sweet, with an adorable personality and good looks, she is very competent at her job and a good, selfless person. After a bad breakup, she's content to just float in her personal life--until a new anesthesiologist, Luke, shows up. Sparks fly and the chemistry sizzles right off the pages like a hot summer day in Georgia. Luke is gorgeous and chivalrous, but he's been burned big-time in the relationship department and just wants to fish and forget about women. But who can resist that magnetic pull that keeps tugging at the two of them?
This author does a fantastic job at showing the struggles of emotion that both Taylin and Luke face. The push and pull is realistic and understandable. There are conflicts that arise in both relationships and experiences that really connected me with the story and characters. I honestly felt that I was living within these pages--these people are real friends and I didn't want the book to end. It was really hard to pull myself away. I'm very hopeful that I'll get to experience more of Georgia and invest more of my time with these people in the future.
As always, the romance is my favorite part and some of these scenes fairly ignited the pages (in a clean way, of course). The emotions and chemistry are both palpable and completely swoon-worthy, but I really enjoyed that there is more to the story than just the romance. There is depth all the way around-- this story is just brilliant and another one to add to my favorites list!
I highly recommend this one for those readers who love a good, clean, contemporary romance.
Content: mild romance (kissing, swoony and a little steamy, but clean).

This book review can only start with one word. Love. (and isn't the cover SOOO cute?!)
It's no secret that my favorite genre is clean romance. While I enjoy many books and many genres, clean romance is the one genre that can always make my heart happy. This book hit my very happy, butterflies in the tummy, heart sighing place. I really loved it.
Loving this book came as no surprise to me though. Cindy Roland Anderson is a queen in the clean romance genre. She is absolutely one of my favorites and I am always on the lookout for her latest, greatest book. Cindy has a way of writing that just resonates with my mind and my heart.
Taylin and Luke will steal your heart. They are both characters that you can relate to and feel. I loved the chemistry between them- it was there from the beginning and it never let up. The struggles were real for Taylin and Luke so it definitely wasn't all sunshine and lollipops but it is the struggles that endear you even more to these characters.
This book made me happy. I loved it and I cannot wait for the next book. The seeds that were planted for it in this book have me so anxious!
Content: Clean- some kissing

Completely cute! I loved going back to the story setting of Under a Georgia Moon. Taylin is a nurse who falls for the new guy at work, Luke. Luke's moved to Georgia to get some distance from his ex-wife. He likes Taylin, but isn't ready for a relationship. The characters are great and the obstacles increase. It's a nice contemporary romance with a strong family and community.
The teeny tiny misuse of "fixin' to" pulled me out of the Southern charm.
I cringed - mightily - when Luke, who is in the middle of ogling Taylin (Ah, so cute!), gets a response from a teenager, "Are you fixin' to stare at Taylin all evening?"
(Nails on a chalkboard, screeching brakes before a crash, a test from the emergency broadcasting system at full volume, walking into a clingy spiderweb -- that's "fixin' to" misused.)
Luke is fixin' to stop staring. He's fixin' to get out of a fishing boat. He may even be fixin' to ask Taylin on a date. But he cannot be fixin' to stare - because he's already staring. Fixin' to does not equal "planning on," it means, "When I finish this, then I'll get to that... next... like in a minute."
Besides these personal pet peeves, the story is sweet and a fun read. :) Really. ;) -
Loved this sweet story!
This book was such a great escape for me to slip into. The setting and characters really drew me in, and the romance was swoon-worthy and clean. I really loved Taylin's approach to problems she faces- head on, without being too shy or awkward to say what she feels or find a solution. Both her and Luke were such likeable protagonists. I can't wait to read more by this author! -
Cute book. I felt so bad for her. I don't think I could put up with as much as she had! And Luke was wayyyyy too much of a pushover! Be let his ex walk all over him. A little annoying. Oh and I wish there was an epilogue! What happens to them?

Great book! Hooke me and I stayed up until 2 am finishing this one.
Content: Clean

Another great book in this series Taylin & Luke's book was super sweet and the chemistry was great. I loved to see old character from the prior book and got to meet some great new ones. Definitely looking forward to reading the next book on Taylin's twin sister Ashley.

I started out liking this book. While it wasn't anything new: H burned by a bad marriage, sweet girl looking for something real, the angst of the situation didn't bother me. Maybe it's because the H wasn't sleeping with lots of women to try and get over what his ex did to him, all the while falling in love with the h. I don't like stories like that. They're just not for me. So, I found the premise of it refreshing. The MCs were two real people, acting like adults and trying to live the best life they could.
But then, it all fell apart. Seriously, it was like I entered drama llama land and it was too crazy for me. It's like I was almost finished knitting a nice scarf and a mean, crazy, feral cat came long and started clawing it into yarn ramen. A star for realistic MCs who act like adults should, half a star for an H who isn't a tomcat, and half a star for a story that was engaging. I would probably have skipped this book had I known it would be such a drama fest at the end.
ETA: I totally forgot to include this in my original review, but I feel that it must be mentioned. Get ready for it.....The h moistens her lips a lot. I mean, really. It seems like she does it in every scene. While that might not bother some readers, it became annoying after a while. -
Sweet romance
I love Taylin and Luke. I love Luke's neighbors and Taylin's family. I do not like drama and Vivian (Luke's ex-wife). She's a jerk. I was so very happy how things worked out, but the drama lasted soooo long! Otherwise, it's a clean romance with no swearing. Great! -
This was another great read by Cindy Roland Anderson. I just lover her books and this one didn't disappoint. Plenty of sizzle without the sex. Towards the end I was ready to throw my kindle, but it all ended nicely, even if it wasn't the way I had wanted...
Moral Note: Talk of infidelity in marriage, some passionate kisses, no language. -
Just a Kiss in the Moonlight is the twelfth Cindy Roland Anderson book I have read, and this is the first time I have awarded less than four-stars. I have a problem with Luke McKay as a hero without a backbone. As I contrast Luke with Taylin Nichols, the heroine, he came across as weak and unworthy of such a pairing. One of the high points of the novel was the manner in which Luke took responsibility for a child he did not even know was his own. But that highlight was more than offset by his significant weakness in allowing his ex-wife to manipulate and control him, even to the extent that he allows her to move into his home. He demonstrated no loyalty at all to his relationship with Taylin, a woman he supposedly loved. I rate Taylin’s character as five-stars and Luke’s as a little less than two.

I really wanted to fall in love with this book like I did with the first of the series. However, I feel like the ending left a lot unresolved. It almost felt like the author had gotten too deep into the dilemma and didn’t know how to get out of it. So, in typical movie fashion, the scene cuts away when things get tough, and you’re left wondering how the characters got from point A to point B.
That being said, the first half or 2/3 of the book is beautiful! Unfortunately, I feel like the conflict flipped the novel on its head. The tone changed, and much of the tension was left unaddressed. -
Loved seeing Chase’s sister grown up and finding their own happily ever afters. But I didn’t like how this one ended. I know Taylor made the choice on her own but it felt like she was settling just so she could be with Luke. And after everything that she has been out through she deserves better than asking him that important question.

Loved it!
I loved this book! I typically don’t enjoy books where the main guy has been married before but it worked super well. The characters were great and it was a sweet romance with the perfect amount of drama. Will definitely read again! -
Just a Kiss in the Moonlight (Georgia Moon Romance #2) - PG13
Violence: none
Language: none
Sex: none, but there were some delicious kisses!
As a dyed-in-the-wool romance book lover, I MUST have an HEA and ooh, I was sweatin' bullets with this one! Way to go, Ms. Anderson! -
I admit i didn't love it as much as the first one, mainly because it felt wrapped up too quick, they had all this stuff thrown at them just for it to be thrown out the window. I did however enjoy the little insights into what was happening with the characters from book 1.
-
Like the first book, very sweet with great swoony kisses! Very likeable H & h Great supporting characters, you would love to have as friends.
Sadly as I can't stand a 10-years age difference between the H & h ,I won't be reading the 3rd. book in this trilogy. :( -
This was soooooooooo good! Now I need Ashley's book like now! Longer review to come.

If you're looking for an easy read, chick flick kinda book this is it. I was disappointed that it did not include an epilogue, but otherwise no complaints.
4.5 stars -
Love, Love, LOVE!!
Wonderful book, no f words or any other crusty words. 😀 Enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. I would recommend it to anyone!! -
Couldn't put this book down. Cute, clean, sweet, romance.

It just takes 1!
It just takes 1 kiss with the right person. The book is about love, the ups and the downs. Good story!
