Nobody asked Ko if she wanted to become one of North Korea’s most elite spies.

As part of her training with the Academy, Ko embarks on her first off-campus mission. When she arrives at the Wasteland, she finds herself confronted with a dilemma more grotesque than anything she’s had to navigate so far. Creepier than one of the Agency’s random loyalty tests, this simulation hits much closer to home.

Back on campus, Ko is thrown into yet another one of the Academy’s tyrannical tests of allegiance when she stumbles across evidence that could incriminate more than one of her fellow recruits. If she keeps her mouth shut, she risks losing her standing with the Party. If she turns her friends in, she risks losing her very humanity.

An engrossing new spy thriller series from A. J. Terry, who has won awards from IndieFab, Readers’ Favorite, The Book Club Network, and more.

Simulation (Agent Ko #2) Reviews

Simulation is the second in the Agent Ko Spy Thriller series. The first in this series rocked my world. I didn't think that Simulation could compare. I was wrong! This Agent Ko story is filled with deception, betrayal and brutality. Written with true grit and honesty, Ms. Terry doesn't gloss over the reality of activities in North Korea.

Ko suddenly realized that recreation days were scheduled randomly but rarely. She looked forward to a day of relief from the intensity of her daily training, only to discover the day was planned for an altogether "different" type of activity. Ko's training at the Academy became more sinister and terrifying as the days wore on. Life only became more of a nightmare.

Ko and other main characters in Simulation are very well defined, and the descriptive elements of location and often gruesome activities is shocking but told in an impressive manner. Although this series is difficult to read because of the atrocities played out, this is a book that everyone should read to obtain a better understanding of what happens in areas like North Korea.

I highly recommend this book for its truth, honesty and education. It is a very painful book to absorb, but well worth the read. I am already looking forward to the third book in this series. This book is not for the weak at heart.

The choice for death is on all sides...

I've never really read a spy thriller before, at least to the best of my recall, but when one of my favorite authors, A.J. Terry, came out with the Agent Ko Spy Thriller series I, of course, gave the genre a try. There is just something about Ko that keeps me coming back, even though I know at least some of where she ends up. I can't help but root for her and want things to work out well for her even though the things she faces and detestable choices that she must make, or die, would normally make her a villain in my book. But I just can't help being sympathetic to her plight! That should tell you right there just how amazingly talented A.J. Terry is as a writer.

In Simulation readers go with Ko as she faces unimaginable circumstances and tests in the effort to reach Zenith at the academy. While not a strictly a Christian fiction book seeds of Christianity are planted in Ko's life, seeds that readers will wonder if it is even possible to grow. Simulation is a quick intense read that left me, and will leave you, gasping and anxiously looking for the next book.

Terrifying, yes! Gutsy, Gritty, Gruesome, Great, yes! I found it hard to read because in my mind I felt that it was really happening - in our world, in some countries, right now, this horror, this testing, this training, this intimidation, this cruelty, is really happening. Sometimes it is very difficult to separate Simulation from Reality. I know, I have been involved in various forms of Simulation and I have also been prepared for Reality. If Simulation is not done well, no one is ever prepared for Reality.

The author, A.J. Terry, has done an amazing job of telling us about the training of Agent Ko, along with a number of other recruits. I loved the story but was disappointed at the ending as I found it rather abrupt. I am looking forward to the next one. Was this really Simulation? Read and judge for yourself.

This type of fiction is not my normal reading, and I found it pushing the boundaries a bit for me so if you are a bit queasy, perhaps go on to something lighter, but if you can handle the TV shows CSI or Criminal Minds, you can handle this.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.

This is an engrossing story not for the faint of heart.
It continues Ko's story in the Academy .
The nitty, gritty portrayed in this book keeps your heart in your throat.
The characters are vivid, even though you hate most of them.
I admit I feel sorry for Ko and the choices she makes.
I look forward to the next book.
