  4.5 stars. Second in a series and I enjoyed it almost as much as the first. An very interesting concept and never a dull moment. Sad that I only found book one and two at my second hand store. Need to hunt down the rest

  Silenced starts out with two big bangs and ends with an even bigger one. In between is an impressively convoluted and involving plot that gripped me. Anyone who enjoyed Soon should read this sequel ASAP.

  What a unique topic and not far off track factoring in Communism and people in the U.S. losing more and more rights daily.
  
  In this novel Religion has been banned for 30 yrs and is now under the NPO (National Peace Organization). Paul (a believer) works as a double agent who consults for the NPO but secretly keeps his faith. His wife is NOT a believer. His wife eventually finds out his motive and job to allow religion to be FREE.
  
  In this novel, God stopped all water in LA. Among other critical life-sustaining needs for life.
  
  The climatic ending here was male offspring dying (plague) because of underground prayer.
  
  Love it when unique topics for books pop up rather than the same ole' WHODUNNIT novels.
  
  I may read it again!

  Interesting political thriller - God has been banned for years - Religious members are underground but the non believers want everyone to become non believers and/or silenced - family issues - murder - religious - full of action to the end~

  A great book. I found book 1 free on Kindle a few months back, and was really impressed with it. This one continues in the same vein. Paul is still working undercover in the National Peace Organization, but really trying to help other believers stay alive and spread the message. The only person I have problems with (as far as believability goes) is Jae, Paul's wife. She seems way too flightly and unrealistic to me.

  This novel is the second of the Underground Zealot Series. I became quite invested in the characters in novel #1. However, I must say I was somewhat disappointed in this second installment. The same characters were featured in a continuation of the plot but it seemed to be a forced effort with the story telling aspect. It dragged on heavy laden (very heavy laden) with Scripture. I started feeling like it was there just to stretch the word count. I am certainly not against using Script where appropriate or it enhances the story and its spiritual direction. I do that myself but this was serious Scripture overkill. Most of it did not really enhance it at all but made the story uninteresting and a bit boring after so much of it. However, it picked up nicely near the end and regained the excitement of the first novel so I will definitely read the third one.

  I liked this one better than the first book in the series. I don't know if that is because it included the wife's perspective more or if her slower conversion was more plausible than Paul's sudden one. The tension of exposure rises throughout the book, which kept the plot moving.
  
  Am I the only one who gets confused when there are too many characters without distinctive voices in an audiobook? I think that's less the book's fault than my own, but it happened a few times while listening to this one.

  Great anticipation, edge of the seat, must read next book!! Looking forward to what lies ahead in the next book....Will Jae become a believer? What will happen to their family? Will Ranold go after Paul? What will happen to the underground church believers next?

  I’m only giving this and the first book 4 stars because they are to short and I have to read from my own KJV when ever there are Bible quotes used. Maybe that’s unfair, but I’ve only recently began reading the Bible and was shocked at how many variations there are. “Interpretations” and Bibles that are half opinion. I rejected all those as I decided I needed to form my own opinion by reading and researching what I don’t understand. That led me to many, many YT videos with just as many opinions. So, book two in this series finished today and starting the 3rd tonight. The characters are well formed and so is the picture of a world with one government and NO religion.

  When I picked this book up, I did not realize that it was #2 in a series. There was a brief overview of what came before in book 1, so I was able to follow the story. I think it was just harder to get into because I didn’t know the characters yet. Ultimately though, I ended up liking the book enough that I have already put book 3 on my kindle.

  Double agent Paul follows many leads to get his job done, and, in the wake, sees God continue to do miracles. His NPO status is questioned and challenged on many fronts. At the same time, God leads his wife Jae in her quest for knowledge of the truth.

  I finally finished! This book wasn't as action packed as the first one and moved a lot slower, but it was still good. It took me longer than I'd expected to finish, but the closer i go to the end, i just could put it down! On to book 3.

  I had read this book because I'm a fan of Jerry Jenkins. I enjoyed reading this book because of the action and drama. I loved the story because it was fast paced and gripping. I thought the novel was well written. It is a must read.

  In similar style of the popular Left Behind series I read and enjoyed probably about 30+ years ago, I decided to start this series.
  The 2nd book in this series is an interesting fictional prophecy of what may come as Biblical endtimes progress. I am looking forward to reading the final book next.

  Skip the audio and read the book yourself. the reader for the audio fails on some basic pronunciation. For instance, cadre is pronounced KAY-duhr throughout the book. .
