I’ve never met a woman I wanted to either fuck or strangle so much in my entire life. 
Well, well, Miss Maxwell, you naughty naughty girl. If I knew this new series of yours was THIS hot, I'd have jumped on it way sooner than this. As it is, I'm kicking myself for taking this long to discover it. I've been a huge fan of this author since I first discovered her with
Rules of Entanglement (which I absolutely adored). This series of hers is certainly a lot spicier, and you won't find this girl complaining one bit!
This book checked all of my yaaaassss boxes. And I do mean ALL of them.
1. Hot as sin, tatted up and pierced for your pleasure bad boy stripper by night and all alpha hotshot lawyer by day hero?I know fighting this battle is futile. The man is weaving a spell I’m hesitant to break free of. 
2. A sassy, confident, take charge heroine that's not afraid of going after she wants and makes no excuses for who she is while laughingly referring to herself as a honey badger?
3. A perfect amount of humor thrown in to take it from sexy to fun and back again?His. Cock. Is. Glorious. You know in the movies, when a wide shaft of light pierces through parting clouds like a spotlight from God to illuminate the Magnificently Monumental Thing that everyone should be looking at? That’s what should happen every time Roman Reeves takes his dick out. It’s that amazing. 
4. Enough sizzle to light up 30 city blocks?Our lovemaking isn’t slow and romantic, it’s hurried and feverish. It’s not chick flicks with tissues, it’s office porn with sweat. It’s half-dressed and half-crazy, forceful thrusts and labored breaths. But this is how we started. This is us. This is perfect.

Suffice it to say I enjoyed this book. A lot. The heroine is sassy without being brash, which is not easy to pull off. I loved her easy confidence with an underlay of vulnerability. The banter between her and Roman "Ruthless" was off the charts hot. These two sizzle in and out of the bedroom and I couldn't get enough of them.
He takes over my mind, my ability to reason, leaving me with nothing but my four remaining senses. 
What I loved most of all is that wrapped into all the smoking hot sexy times was a fantastic hot story that only revved up the hotness factor of this book. I seriously loved every page of it and i'm already salivating for the next book. One of the guys happens to have a particular kink that happens to be my catnip. I won't tell you who or what it is but OMG I NEED HIS BOOK!
Ruthless was a one two punch to the ovaries. It was entertaining and downright sizzling. It had everything; humor, steam, fantastic story telling, and a hero that you will lust after from cover to cover. Guaran-damn-teed.

Engaging, fast-paced and very well-written, I enjoyed immensely this seriously hot story that captivated me from the start. Ruthless was a great combination of all the elements that fit my reading preferences - entertaining plot, lovable and interesting characters, humour, romance, passion, emotion, off-the-charts chemistry and the love scenes were without a doubt crazy HOT.
Roman aka Ruthless is a successful attorney AND a sexy as hell male stripper. He has a couple of rules and one of them is not messing around with a friend’s friends. This is a rule he never breaks. On a night out with friends, Roman meets Addison and he’s instantly attracted to her. But Addie is the best friend of his best friend’s girlfriend, which puts her into the forbidden fruit category. Plus, Roman has special sexual needs and everything with him is about control. He’s convinced that Addison can’t be on board to play his kinky games. No matter how much he wants her, Addison is off-limits. What he didn’t count on was the determination of the tempting vixen to have him.

From the moment they were officially introduced, Addie had her eyes set on the sexy stud. A Hero that wears both suits and piercings? Hell to the yes! I loved that Roman was such a contradiction and it made him a really unique character. It's not often that I would say two very different personalities could come together so well but this author did a brilliant job at blending the two. Roman was a perfect mix of suit wearing lawyer who could eat you alive in the Court room and also sexy stripper that you'd beg to eat you alive in the bedroom.
Roman and Addison were a great couple and they both had a really high energy that you could feel throughout the book. I liked that they complimented each other so well. Both were fierce when it came to their work but neither of them were afraid to go out and have fun, which I loved.
I've had the first book in this series, Shameless, on my Kindly for a few weeks and now I want to kick myself for not reading it yet. All of the characters were hot as Hades and I definitely need to go back and read about Jane and her own hot stripper. Ms. Maxwell did a really good job at giving us information about the secondary characters in this story while not letting them take over the story. I'm so curious about the rest of these men so I can't wait to read more of them!

I would like to say this book took me by surprise but then I'll be lying. If you are familiar with Gina L. Maxwell's work, you'd probably agree that she writes some of the hottest sexual encounters! I don't know what it is about her stories that manages to hit all the right buttons ... it just does. Her books are fun, full of witty banter, sexy as hell and just pure entertainment!
This story is no exception. It probably won't be for everyone but readers who love their Heroes with a touch of kink and their heroines open minded enough ot let go would fall head over heels with a duo that quickly landed on my 'favourite couples' list. Roman and Addie's chemistry is off the charts. Some of the vulnerabal moments they share will make you fall in love with them even more. The banter between the two will have you laughing out loud one minute then have you fanning yourself the next.
If you read and enjoyed
SHAMELESS, all I have to say is 'BUCKLE UP!' because, if you thought Jane and Chance's sexual escapades were scorching, you just wait till you see what Roman and Addie get up to in 'RUTHLESS' ... I must say, of all the books of Ms. Maxwell's I read to date, this is now my favorite one!

This review is my honest and personal opinion and I know authors can't please everyone and that was the case here. I'm actually sad that this one didn't work for me. Ruthless had a lot of things that I loved and I know others, more adventurous and with less triggers then me, will absolutely love this series. All I can say is it didn't work for me. I can say I honestly gave it a shot and now I know that it's not something I would actively seek out.
I thought I could venture outside my comfort zone with this one, since it surprised me right from the start with this . . .

I want someone who enjoys being shared with another man on occasion.
Yeah . . . no matter how open minded I tried to stay, in the end it just cemented the fact that the sharing kink is not my thing. I was actually hoping this would turn out differently. I'm an optimist like that. But no matter how hot these two were together, as soon as mention of the "plus one" comes in, my lady bits just turned off.
Which sucks because if you take out that whole thing, Roman was pretty fan-freakin-tastic.
"If I were in a relationship, she’d be the only woman ever in my bed. She would be the focus of my every thought, and my greatest pleasure would be drawing hers out in every way imaginable.”.
If he would have stayed sexy AND exclusive with the h I would have loved this read. Their interactions, their banter, it was all great. At times funny, sarcastic, flirty and downright dirty, they were smoking hot and I was rooting for them. But I just can't do their special kind of kink.
. . . it’s still not enough to keep my attention long-term, not without the option of bringing someone else in.
There is nothing sexy about this super possessive, alpha guy standing back and letting another man touch, kiss and please his woman. Not to mention at this point I was insulted on the h’s behave. Like, what, she’s not enough for him?!?
I know that it's explained that this is all about control for Roman ...
I want to control her pleasure in other ways, by dictating what happens to her and what doesn’t. How she receives her orgasms and by whom. Maybe I join in, maybe I just direct; the choice is mine, and mine alone. That’s the ultimate sexual high for me.
Maybe my brain is just wired differently, but no matter how hot these two were together, it was overshadowed by the fact that our H was just biding his time with the h until he would tire of her alone and have to bring someone else in. What really bugged me was the fact that the sharing was 100% Roman.
Wish the blurb would have given at least a hint that the kink leaned towards sharing. I would have passed on requesting the ARC. I've read Gina Maxwell before and loved Seducing Cinderella and Rules of Entanglement but this is in a whole other ball park. Shameless sounds okay but for sure the next one, about Austin is going to be a hard pass .

I've been a fan of Gina Maxwell's since I read her debut novel,
Seducing Cinderella, and she cemented my fandom with
Shameless. I absolutely fell in love with the P4H crew and couldn't wait to find out more about each of them and the ladies that love them.
Roman has intrigued me from the start. Successful attorney by day, sexy and in-hot-demand stripper at night, I had to know more. Imagine my delight when I discovered his kink *wink*. I think I was more shocked than Addison was and equally pleased. I loved seeing how willing she was to explore with him and those scenes with Austin were insanely hot! This author sure knows how to give us readers erotic and sensual lovemaking.
What impressed me the most was that Roman and Addison's relationship wasn't all about sex, as much as they tried to keep it casual. The author led us through the evolution of their friendship and feelings for one another and gave amazing glimpses of each character's introspection. I only wish there was more of an ending, but I'm sure I'll see these characters again as the series progresses. I wonder who'll be next... *fingers crossed* that it's Austin!

3.5 Better than I expected.
It was hot and cute and funny at times. And it was fast paced, so all these make me a very happy girl.
I wasn't expecting too much and surprises like these are always welcomed.
Why not more start, if it's so good? I didn't really think it's memorable. It's the kind of book you really enjoy and are glad you read it, but at the end of the week, you have to think a bit to remember what happened (though I do have a bad memory, so there's that).
All in all, it's a really good, relaxing, fun read. -
I thought Shameless was okay. Ruthless was so much better. I really enjoyed the story for what it was. Yes, there wasn't any deep plot but I was entertained nonetheless. Addison and Roman were great and their chemistry insanely hot. Holy moly! Roman had his kinky side and Addison embraced it and her own too. Their sex scenes were sizzling, dripping hot like lava.
Now I'm really looking forward to reading Austin's book because his kinky side is somewhat of a taboo. The group dynamics is also what I really enjoy about this series. Both the group as a whole and the ladies separately. Who is going to be Austin's woman is to be seen but I can't wait to find out.

The he in the oh-so-hot equation is the cobra she wants to lure, Roman ‘Ruthless’ Reeves the best friend of her best friend’s boyfriend. Roman looks like a Roman god with his tall and chiseled body made of pure muscle, pierced in the right places, and sky blue eyes with black, and bed-head hair. A laced up law firm owner by day, Roman, and hot, pierced, bad boy at night, Ruthless. This beast doesn’t stand a chance against the ball crusher, honey badger, Addie…or does he?!?

Ruthless sizzles and slays in a seductive story of forbidden love that is PURE PERFECTION. The entertaining and enticing writing along with powerful metaphors were INCREDIBLE. The delicious and dirty talk along with combustible chemistry of the characters were HOT. The banter and angst were ADDICTIVE. The penetrating passion was INTENSE and INTOXICATING.
Ruthless was my anguish…my ache…my addiction. Ruthless was my drug and I could not get a big enough hit. I left this story wanting more…needing more. Ruthless…that it was as you don’t stand a chance not falling in love with this combustible and consuming book that Gina Maxwell penned to perfection and so brilliantly brought to life.

2.5-3 Stars.....Just wasn't my cuppa tea
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!
OK, so before I start my review, I DO enjoy a good menage scene and/or story but for me in this story it just didn't work:( How can I explain, well for me, there are those stories I expect a menage and it works and then there are those stories well I don't mind maybe a once thing BUT then that's it and for me this story was the story I wouldn't have minded a one time thing but that didn't happen. I guess sometimes, depending on the characters, I want my H too be so possessive of his woman that maybe after the one time thing he will hate it and realize that he doesn't want anyone to touch his woman and for me this guy was the one I wanted to be possessive of his woman and he failed:( yes, I get it, his "kink" was what it was...not my thing either, well ok, maybe one time lol BUT I was still not feeling his kink!
I have to say I started out enjoying this story and then the middle, as hot as it was, just wasn't for me and then I found myself speed reading just to get to the end, which btw, I loved. I loved how they were open and honest with their feelings albeit a short separation that for me...ehhhh, c'mon you love the woman realize you made a mistake and yet it takes THAT long to go after her....another big NO for me!
All in all just wasn't for me, I hadn't read the first book nor the last book and honestly I have no desire to do so. Now with that being said I do like this author so just because this series wasn't for me doesn't mean I won't read anything else by her, which btw I have and have LOVED her work! -
I've been looking forward to reading Ruthless ever since I finished reading Shameless and I must say it did not disappoint and was totally worth the wait.
I loved the heroine, Addison, she had me laughing over the ridiculous things she'd say and think. I loved that she was strong, feisty and the prefect match for Roman. I absolutely adored the him, I loved that he was more than what met the eye. I thought they were perfectly matched. The chemistry between them was off the charts and lead to some extremely hot sex scenes that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Ruthless is a quick, funny and sexy read that I'd definitely recommend.

Be prepared to enter the world of delicious alpha men with their own kink when you open the cover of the Playboys in Love series. This erotic world that Gina L. Maxwell is perfect blend of licentious deeds and romance, creating a story that will pull at your heartstrings and keep things hot in the sheets.
From the very first chapter, I was drawn into this story, ad mainly because of the voice of the female lead. Her dominance, her intelligence, her assertiveness and her ownership of her sexual prowess will have readers in complete awe of her. Even with all these female alpha-type behavior, Addie still allows her vulnerable and softer side show through, only making her that much more endearing. She is never more vulnerable though when she is with Roman. He seems to be able to flay her open and serve her up, but she allows it because she trusts him.
Roman as a hero is gahh!! Unreal. Completely dominate, utterly attractive, smart, and loyal to boot. His kink though leaves him wandering around looking for more, and he never thought he would find it in Addie. What will make readers absolutely become enamored with Roman is his care of Allie. Once she agrees to participate in his fantasies, he takes unbelievable care of her, taking things slowly and constantly assessing her comfort. My favorite moments with Roman though are when he lets his guard down, when he is just with Allie as a “couple” without getting down and dirty. These little glimpses not only serve to make Roman than a man with darker pleasures, but a hero readers can fall in love with.
This story is so delectable! The heat picks up from the very beginning, and it doesn’t let up ever! Even when Allie and Roman are hooking up, the sexual tension is enough to set readers blood on fire. Each look, innuendo, comment is laced with desire, and readers feel every hit, but this story is more than just sex. It is about Allie opening up her physical limits, while Roman is pushed to open up emotionally. Of course with both of the characters open and raw, there is bound to be issues, and when these issues come to a head, Roman should just grab readers’ hearts and crush it in his palm. It was painful to see him self-destruct and take the people he loves with him. His redemption, though, his desire to fix what he has done is just as filled with emotion and love. He took the pieces of my crumbled heart and pieced it back together with every sweet word that came from his mouth.
Gina L. Maxwell has effectively sucked me into the P4H club. Gah!! I freaking love every single one of these men and the woman they meet, and the writing is fantastic. This erotic world has effectively seduced me, and I don’t ever want to leave.

With its stripper by night/lawyer by day main hero who likes to have sex with his stripper clients while his fellow male stripper friends often watch/participate, this book goes down a path I do not travel. Until that big reveal at the beginning, I was looking forward to reading this one. Though stunned, because I seriously was not expecting that, I kept reading thinking the heroine will likely lead this bad boy down a new path of his own...redemption. Problem was the heroine's equally crass/crude behavior left me leary of her, as well. Sure, these two may be perfect for each other. They likely take turns trying to out do one another with crass/crude antics. I do, however, need to like and respect my main couple. The early signs here were that wasn't going to happen. It's just not my idea of a good romantic read.
Perhaps in the future, I'll give this book another attempt to make sure I didn't rush to an unfair judgement. If I do change my opinion, I'll edit these comments accordingly.

YES, YES, YES! Think Meg Ryan orgasmic bliss... We wanted a hot, soaking panties kind of read and we got that and so much MORE! We are suckers for stripper books. Like we can't get enough and stalk lists looking for them. Well... we hit the motherload. Gina L. Maxwell had us wanting to hire these guys to "come" to our next event!! We picked up Shameless recently which is book 1 in the Playboys in Love series by Gina L Maxwell. We swear to you guys we couldn't get enough!! The plot, the heat factor, the writing, the chemistry, ALL OF IT just one giant ball of perfection!!! So we quickly begged Gia for Ruthless and boy we were not disappointed!!!!
It was different than book 1 in many ways. Exploring a different kind of sexual kink but still keeping the great plot/writing/chemistry ratio. Maybe even kicking it up a notch if that's even possible!!!
Roman is so freaking hot, seriously we wanted to climb into the book and lick him to death. He is almost like two different person a cool, collected and successful lawyer by day and panty melting hot pierced tattooed stripper bad boy at night. He is not looking for long term relationship, one night with a side of kink is his specialty till Addison steps into his life.“Addison, have you heard a word I said? What starts as a one night fuck against a bar wall turns into more quickly as these two explore and get to know each other. The off the charts hot sexual chemistry will melt your panties of during their encounters. But there is so much more to the story than just heat. These characters have a complexity that will keep you going till the very last page. Their vulnerability will give you the little heartache that compliments the sexy side of the story seamlessly making it into a captivating story from start to end."... Addie is different. The way these stories are intertwined is an added bonus as we see returning characters enhance the plot.

I've FINALLY done it! I've finally read a book by Gina Maxwell! I met her at the RT Convention a few years ago and she was so fun and hilarious and cool that I couldn't wait to start reading her! All of my blogmates loved her and I knew she was going to write one hell of a book. Fast forward a few years and here I am, just NOW getting to it! Better late than never!!!
Addison was awesome! I wasn't sure I was going to like her at first though. She called herself the honey badger because the honey badger don't give a shit, etc. I was like, "Uhhh that's a little TOO aware of pop culture" but after a few more pages, I was totally on board. Addison is a lawyer so she's frigging brilliant. But she's sexy and fun and funny and she was never afraid to tell it like it is. I felt like she knew herself pretty well and was confident without being a jerk.
Ruthless was also pretty awesome! After reading the blurb, he sort of sounded like your average alpha male...and he's definitely an alpha male but he's more than that too. I liked that I was able to see into his past a little because it made it easier for me to NOT be angry about his life choices. I mean, I could understand his attitudes about marriage and long-term relationships. This is going to sound totally stupid but I really loved Roman's relationship with his dad, who was also a high-powered attorney. I thought for sure they would hate each other but it really was a good, if slightly competitive, relationship. It seemed like they got along well and that his dad was proud of him. It made Roman that much more relatable and likable.
The Sexy Time was ca-razy hot! It was WAY more risque than I thought it would be. There was a bit of voyeurism and some threesomes which really surprised me. I think this would be a PERFECT book for readers who aren't sure if they're into the kinkier stuff but still want to try it out. Addison and Roman were a great couple though. They had a similar sense of humor and really challenged each other in a way that I thought was fun and healthy.
I would totally recommend this book! Sure, it's Book 2 in a series but I hadn't read Book 1 and was able to jump right in. There's a little drama at the end but the book is so much fun to read overall. The characters are a lot of fun and I laughed a lot throughout the story. I think I might have gotten a teensy bit teary-eyed at the end but no one witnessed it so it can't be proven. The only regret I felt while reading this book is that I didn't read this author much, much sooner! -
I thought Shameless was off the charts sexy but with Ruthless, I'd say Gina Maxwell has clearly let her inner freak flag wave tall and proud! Phew, this one truly set my Kindle on fire and I have to say I am really happy that the author has written these Playboys in Love books with such passion. You can feel the absolute lust dripping from both Addie and Roman's eyes whenever they look at each other. She's a bonafide maneater with a beautiful heart and he is the confirmed bachelor with a penchant for threesomes who may just be afraid of feeling more than pure want.
From the time they have their first dalliance outside a club, I just knew this latest installment in the series would be uber hot. And I wasn't disappointed. With every new way to have Addie be sexually satisfied, Roman unwittingly became a bit more attached to her. Their love affair began wildly and it was only a matter of time before their hearts would calm down and be forever tamed by one another.
I loved Addie and her strength. I adored Roman and the way he could turn from the put together, sharp-dressed attorney into the Ruthless playboy with piercings and mussed hair and Kohl eyeliner (!) on a dime. They are simply a force to be reckoned with when together.
There is great humor throughout and a whole lot of heart. As much as I loved Chance, I do believe Roman has swept me off my feet alongside Addie.
Austin's story is next and I can only imagine how intoxicating his story will be.

RUTHLESS is a MUST READ…. the SENSUALITY in this book is off the charts. It will leave you SPELL-BOUND.
The book is well written. A little, No a lot on the RISKY side but done exceptionally well. Ruthless is smart, educated, and SEXY as HELL. I like his devotion that he has to his friends and family. The thing that he can do with his body. Sorry can’t go into much detail. You just have to find out for yourself.
I loved Addision!!!! I enjoyed that she wasn’t a weak female. Her character is strong, she doesn’t take no for an answer and anything she wants she is not afraid to go after it. That includes Ruthless.. The chemistry between Addison and Ruthless is FIRE!!! The dialogue and sex scenes (have I mentioned the sex scenes yet HOT!!!! STEAMY HOT!!!) was captivating which made the book a page-turner. It made me anxious to find out what happened next. I also liked that the story line wasn’t predictable.

Yes, there was instalust, yes there was some push/pull, and yes there was miscommunication/assumptions made, but Ruthless was an awesome alpha hero without being over the top and too asshole-ish (with a little oh so sexy kink thrown in), and our heroine was sassy, sexy, confident, smart and independent. -

I could kick myself for never reading this author before now. Well in my own defense, there are so many great authors around, I don't always come across many of them unless I'm browsing. So Thank you social media for that. Especially Instagram! But in this instance the book found me. Yea!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. If you don't yet have it on your TBR, you need to check it out!
Just wow! This book will get your blood heating. I loved it from the first page to the last. Ruthless was sexy and sinful, with smoking hot intimacy. The characters were sexy and lovable. Roman was arrogant while Addie was sassy and independent. The dialogue was witty and
dirty. The monologue gave us the perfect images of the complexity of these characters. I loved it so much that I put the rest of the series on my TBR. Having started the series with book two, I have some catching up to do.
Roman and Addie.....
Roman is an attorney by day. But when it's playtime, he dances, he strips, he makes women all around him wet their panties. And when Roman picks one to 'play' with? Damn what a lucky girl! Roman gets what and who he wants. Except for one woman. Oh he wants her alright but he can't have her. What makes the situation more difficult is that she wants him too. Unfortunately, she falls under one of Roman's 'do not touch' rules. Addie is a friend of a good friend. No can do.
Addie...from the moment she sets her eyes on Roman, Addie is determined to have him. The hell with his stupid moral rules of 'friend code.' Addie is not deterred by Roman's rule. In fact she is more determined than ever to have him. Addie loves a challenge. She will change his mind.
Addie is way too sexy and Roaman finds his resolve obliterated. But it's just a one-and-done, right? So it shouldn't be a big deal as long as they are on the same page. They will have their one night and move on. They don't ever have to see each other again. Right?
When it turns out that Addie will be working for Roman they are both surprised. Unfortunately neither can seem to remember their promise to each other of one night. Things get complicated real fast. Roman likes a structured world and having Addie so close turns that world on its axis. Roman loses his resolve a second time. And many more times after that.
Roman and Addie are so good together; they have scorching hot chemistry. There is always sexual tension when they are in the same room together. Roman has very particular kinks which is why he has never stayed with any woman. Addie surprises and excites him when she voices her acceptance of his tastes. She wants to keep him so she is willing to try whatever he likes. And just wow! She was a lucky, lucky girl.
Addie and Roman are perfect for each other. The sex and intimacy between them was off the charts. I was so engrossed in every moment having read it in one sitting. They were so perfect as a couple that I just knew something was going to happen to ruin it.
Roman, Roman, Roman.
Roman ended up hurting Addie all because of a misunderstanding. But he hurt himself just as badly.
I just loved how it all turned out. The ending was amazing. I can't wait to read the rest of this series, especially Austin's book. I looooooved him!!!! -
So after reading Shameless in one day I didn't know how I was going to make it until Ruthless came out. So I went on NetGalley, requested the book and the next day this baby was on my Kindle. Talk about happy girl!!! This book did not disappoint!!
We are first introduced to Roman and Addison in Shameless. Roman aka Ruthless is Chance's best friend. Addison is Jane's best friend. So with that being said Roman has decided that Addison is off limits because he doesn't want to ruin the groups friendship. Isn't that noble? *insert sarcasm* Eventually Addison ends up working for Roman and that's when the real fun begins!!
Roman and Addison are both headstrong and opinionated. Addison has a mouth on her and knew how to push Romans buttons which I loved. They fought, clawed and loved hard. I love book couples like them. The sexual tension was oozing off the pages as you read. In this series each couple has a secret sexual fantasy. In this book we explore having a third person in the bedroom. We have a ménage scene that was off the charts hot and steamy. I mean several parts of the story were hot but this was my favorite part. What I loved about the ménage was that Addison's needs were put first and she was treated with respect before, during and after. Make sure to read this book in the a/c or stick your head in the freezer. I had to crack open a window because of how hot I got!!
As the relationship progresses insecurity issues and doubts start to rear it's ugly head. Neither Roman or Addison wanted anything major but things happen when you least expect it. So when we reach that critical point will Roman and Addison be able to move forward? Or will their agreement end? Only one way to find out and that's by reading the book. I know, I know but if I told you where's the fun in that?? Trust me it's worth it!
Maxwell is a new to me author and I just love her writing style. I devoured both books in two days. Fans of Shameless will definitely enjoy Ruthless. Well done again Maxwell!

Roman and Addison know each other through friends. Her BFF and his BFF are together. So for Roman, Addison is off limits. This makes Addison want him more and Roman tries to fight it but can't. Their attraction is too powerful.
Then Addison is hired to work for Roman at his law firm.
This book was HOT but there was some things that bothered me... like how is a well known lawyer also a stripper at night???!!! I mean, am I the only person who doesn't understand this??? -
What a great story. Seriously hot, and had me flipping pages because I didn't want to miss a single thing.
Roman... have mercy on me. I could only picture those words coming out of his mouth, me with a strangle hold on my kindle.
Addie, I loved this honey badger of a girl. Tough, bright and sexy and knows how to play it.
What a wicked ride this book was and Gina did such a brilliant job with these two.
This book gets 4.5 stars from me. Yes it's a must read!!!

Ruthless is the second story in the Playboys in Love series by Gina Maxwell. It’s part of Entangled Publishing’s Scorched line, which definitely is a good description for this imprint. The series revolves around a group of guys who work as strippers in their off hours, when they aren’t at their regular day jobs or studying at college. For most of them, working for Playboys 4 Hire is a secret second job, either for the money, or the fun and attention they get from the ladies. In Shameless, book one of the series, Chance, a construction worker and co-owner of Playboys 4 Hire meets Jane and they explore some mutual kinks together. Jane’s friend Addison and Chance’s friend and co-worker Roman are secondary characters there and it was clear that something was going to happen with them – I’m happy to say that this time it’s their turn for a happy ending.
Roman is a high powered attorney and enjoys his job and being in the courthouse. But on his off hours, it's his chance to let loose as tattooed and pierced bad boy stripper Ruthless. When he met Addison, he knew immediately she was off limits. And when she gets a job as a junior attorney at the same law firm as him, even more so. But it's not long before lines are crossed and a forbidden workplace romance takes them into new and very steamy territory. Sharing kinks is one thing – will it lead to something even better?
This story hits all the right notes with steamy sex, laugh out loud scenes (including great banter between Roman and Addison), and a satisfying romance. I really liked Roman's character, how he's able to let loose as Ruthless and own his desires. Sharing is his thing, and we get plenty of steamy scenes starting with voyeurism and working up to introducing a third person, Roman's friend Austin, into their relationship. Nothing permanent, just some fun sexy times. But it also makes Roman acknowledge that maybe he'd like to keep Addison all to himself, a scary thought for a guy who avoids commitment.
Addison is a great female character – smart, funny, feisty, and willing to try new things with Roman. She makes it clear that her job is important to her and she's not going to risk it by making their relationship public knowledge. She has a tough shell on the outside, but is still vulnerable enough to make her aware that she could easily fall for Roman if she's not careful.
Of course, while the sex is hot, it's not enough to take the relationship to the next level. Trust and communication are required for that, and here's where things get dicey for this couple as they each make some decisions that have unintended consequences. I really enjoyed how the story moved along and once the conflict is resolved we get a great happy ending. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for the next book in the series!

The second book in Gina L. Maxwell’s Playboys in Love series is even better than the first book. Ruthless is every bit as raw and sexy as Shameless, but this hero has two very different sides and the heroine finds out she does as well. Ms. Maxwell has really turned up the heat in her writing with this series giving her readers some of the charts smoldering sexy reading.
Addison wants a night with her best friend’s boyfriend’s friend Roman (aka Ruthless, his stripper name), but Roman has a strict policy of not getting involved with friends or even friends of friends. Addison decides she’s going to be the one to make him break that rule and to be honest she does it with flair, but Roman makes her understand that he’s the one that is in charge and despite the fact she manipulated him into breaking his rule. So begins the story of Addison and Roman and a deliciously sexy story it is.
Let me be clear this really isn’t a romance although it does have a HFN ending, but their relationship is combative at the start and based on sex and fun throughout most of the story. That’s not a bad thing; in fact it is exciting, sexy, and even wicked. Roman has certain sexual proclivities and he is convinced that in sharing those with Addison it will run her off, what he doesn’t realize is that under her somewhat buttoned up exterior is a wildcat underneath.
I loved watching these two explore the sexual sides together and Roman introducing Addison to all kinds of new things which she enjoyed fully and completely, but what I enjoyed most of all was watching them both fall in deep with one another without fully realizing it. They were both so set on it just being fun, just being sexy, but with each day, each encounter it became so much more throwing them both for a loop.
Just as Addison’s career is taking off and she’s proving to be a very capable attorney and their relationship is heading towards being more for them both, Roman makes a big assumption that send them both spinning. I was a bit disappointed in this part of the book and it actually felt very contrived to create drama that in my opinion wasn’t needed.
There is nothing better than watching two smart, headstrong, opinionated, passionate people find their match and that is exactly what Ms. Maxwell offers up in Ruthless and the result is fantastic!

You can’t get a nickname like “Ruthless” from just being an attorney… or can you? He has rules that he will never take a friend to bed or even a friend of a friend, but that changes when he meets Addison Paige.
Honey Badger is what she describes herself. Claws on the outside but sweet honey on the inside. Addison strives to be perfect and be the best as a junior attorney. I absolutely loved this book! I will be going back to read the first in this series, Shameless. I love Addison’s demeanor, she rocks on her personality! She is a woman who is determined to get what she wants out of life, fierce and strong. The way that Ms. Maxwell describes Roman and his attributes.. Well, I won’t spoil it but it’s fantastic!

Holy Hotness Batman! Roman will make you fanning yourself in the fridge to help keep the blush at bay when reading.
Addison is on a mission... to bed the hotter than hell Roman. The only problem is that Roman has a steadfast rule... No sleeping with friends or friends of friends. And since Addie is Janey's best friend who just so happens to be dating his best friend Chance, she is SO OFF LIMITS.
So what does Addie do you ask? Well she learns to push the right buttons and has Roman following her within minutes. Before you know it the two are going at it in the alley and the score is now 1- Addie, ZERO - Roman.
Months later, Roman, along with his business partner John are ready to move forward with their private law practice. It took some time but they are ready to hire on two new jr. lawyers to help them grow the practice and make their dreams a reality. The only thing is Roman never expected come face to face with his as his new employee... The one woman who has been staring in every one of his fantasies for the past three months. Addison.
Both are shocked to see each other and the spark is still there, if not hotter than ever. Although off to a rocky start the two are grownups and can act professional right? Well, the only reason Roman never pursued Addie was because of his own little fetish that he just knew Addie wouldn't be down with, right?

Holy cow this book was awesome! I just loved Addison Paige and Roman Reeves. These two were off the charts hot and fun! Did I mention hot? I knew Addison was going to be fun based on what she did to Jane in the first book by sending her a stripper from Playboys 4 Hire, but I didn't have a feel yet for Ruthless Roman, lawyer by day, stripper by night!
Addison is attracted to Roman right away when they meet at a friends get-together, but Roman has a rule...don't mess around with a friend's friend. Since Janey started dating Chance, she has become a good friend to Roman so that makes Addie off limits. Too bad Addie has other plans...she didn't earn the nickname Honey Badger for nothing! Addie pursues Roman and does get her man! Talk about explosive! Problem is that neither one of them expected it to be so explosive! Then two months later....BANG!...guess who is the new junior lawyer working for Roman????...Addie!
The sexual frustration these two go through because she is now his employee is comical! I really enjoyed their banter back and forth. You knew it wouldn't take long for these two to hook back up. Problem is that Roman has a certain preference when it comes to sex and he wasn't sure Addie would be agreeable to that. Imagine his surprise when she is! As these two spend more and more time together their relationship quickly changes. Even thought they both have issues from their past, they are able to find their happy ending.
Overall, this was a wonderful story, with such great, fun characters who set the pages on fire! -

Another scorcher by Gina!
The 2nd book in the series, this standalone is now about Jane’s friend, Addison (Addie), and Chance’s friend, Roman. If you’ve read the first book, you know what Roman does as a side gig, along with his 3 other close friends. Outside of that gig, Roman is a lawyer. So is Addison, a budding one, anyway.
Roman broke his own law of not messing with friends of friends. Addison just wants her hands on the deliciousness that is Roman. After a one-night stand, well, what do you know, their paths will cross again.
Roman has a very specific kink. Addie was open-minded enough to go for it.
Roman, in the words of Addie, is “…Refined with an edge. Safe with hints of danger. A good man and a bad boy…” in a nutshell. How scrumptious is that! Roman may have pulled that cliché jumping-the-gun-too-fast, but I get it… Addie, in turn, has so much sass to her, I love it. It’s the kind of feistiness that doesn’t grate; it was just the right balance to her soft vulnerable side.
As much as it started out as supposed one-night stand with that insta-lust, you can see how it developed into so much more, from their daily work interactions that moved outside work. Roman went thru what I really enjoy in my H, that of being unsettled by all the emotions that a h evokes out of him. And Addie, like I said, for all her doubts, showed confidence in herself which I really enjoyed.
These 2 together, boy did they sizzle!!! I’ll leave it at that *g*
