Now I'm being taunted by a madman who knows more about me than I do.
He's kidnapped the closest person in my life, and he is using it to get my attention.
Trust me... he has it. Now I just need to figure out where he is and when he'll strike again.
Things were easier when I was only kidnapping children.

The Jersey wise guy mobsters are hysterical and were the perfect compliment to James, Marissa, etcetera. The character development is excellent and love, love, the narration.

Great, sometimes funny read.
Man who kidnapped kids being abused for a living, had all of his assets taken away. This was done by one of the kids, who was now grown up.
The man, had his assistant, kidnapped by the grown up kid.
Add in some Mafia people, an FBI agent, and food , into the mix.
Trying to get his assistant back, and his assets. -
Changing the norm from the first book was extremely interesting, setting up the sequels for how the main character has to work his empire back up. And though the main character is maybe the least interesting character, all of the others really add to the great world that Rosamilia has built up in this crime thriller. Just a solid, quick read!

The premise of this book is very intriguing, and the first one was very clever. But it doesn't really hold up, and has devolved to snarky bickering. Note that it is still well written, I'm just no longer intrigued.
I won't be reading the next one. -
The brute fact is that these stories are easy readers, fun, and amusing. It is easy to follow the characters around, easy to suspend disbelief over the storyline or plot elements. The stories require nothing of the reader except a willingness to chuckle at stupid, but clean, humor.
This is two hundred pages of easy font reading. Marisa has been kidnapped. A handful of characters converge during the main character’s efforts to find and rescue Marisa. Every element is superficial and maybe a touch stereotyped. Remember, this is to be read on hazy springtime days when the pollen has fallen two-inches thick and the chalky stuff is coating your eyebrows. No one is reading this to compare it to Graham Greene. As a reader, I do not want to plod through descriptions and backgrounds and esoteric theories. Just get in the car, stop at Taco Bell, and answer the phone when it rings. Stake out the hotel, have another coffee, argue with the FBI agent. See? Nothing needs to be overwrought or wrung out. No problem. -
I honestly can't figure out why I am compelled to keep up with this series but I am. I like the premise of the stories and how they play out but they still aren't anything special to me. I thought the fisticuffs fight was stupid between the men but other than that I liked it. It royally pisses me off that he leaves them open ended but he's clearly clever in that sense because it keeps people reading his books. There are so many other things left to learn about the characters as well which, I do admit keeps me curious and reading.

We start where we left off with Melissa being kidnapped. So starts a frantic journey for James with no Melissa, no money and no homes as he tries to rescue Melissa and not get killed while also having an FBI agent on his trail. Having read Belford stories then are links to that series and mentions of the actual author that made me laugh. Well written and there is book three that I can't wait to start.

Dirty Deeds 2 throws us in right where book 1 ended and really doesn’t let up throughout the whole book.
It continues with the charm, humour, depth and tone of the first book while moving the story along at a pace which in lesser hands would have been a mess.
I’m two books into this series now and fully sold. Next one please! -
Audible:As good as book 1!James removes kids from bad situations and moves them to good homes. This is what he believes. So why is one,now an adult, trying to kill him? Jack de Golla was the perfect narrator.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

The Saga continues.... I can't read fast enough!
I am enjoying this book and the author's style of writing. The storyline is so different from any book I've read....and I read a lot.
It took me five years to find this author's work and I am glad I did. Definitely recommend. -
Dirty Deeds book 2
This wasn't quite as good as the first book but it was still a good read. This is a fun series that I will continue. This also ends with a cliffhanger. It's fine since I happen to be a series reader and I don't have to wait for book 3 to come out. -
I finished listening to this on Audible, while cursing Armand. Lol. Really great as usual, but what a way to make me want to immediately start book 3. I love this mobster books. Great series.

Entertaining, fast-paced, and throws in a good laugh once in a while. Armand has found his flow with this sequel and I'm anxious to see what happens next!

Dirty Deeds 2 by Armand Rosamilia.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive.
We see James Gaffney searching for his kidnapped assistant Marisa, his right-hand gal ,computer hacker extraordinaire, his friend and apprentice.
She was taken by one of the kids that he saved in the past, but which one? The kidnapper goes by the name Harry, but James knew that is not his real name. Nor can he understand why Harry would do this sort of thing to punish James after he gave him the life he deserved and got him out of a bad situation. He should be thanking James.
Time is running out and James has to figure out where Harry has taken Marisa. but without her hacking skills he is at a lost.
He turns to Marco a mob hacker he had worked with in the past … just one problem, Marco is on the run from “The family”, and no one knows where he is. The clock is ticking on Marisa’s life so James turns to the last person he cares to ask about Marcos whereabouts, that would be the head of “The Family” Chinso. Chinso send Chazz to help James look for Marco, Chazz & Marco had been close childhood friends, if anyone had a clue where Marco may be held up, it would be the Chazz.
Neither James nor Chazz is thrilled with this team up, James views Chazz as a typical ‘meathead” not very bright and who seems to be trying to eat his way across the country. James is unaware at the time Chinso had a hidden agenda for why he wanted Chazz to help him find Marco. That reason would become apparent soon enough.
James tried to not let the cracks in his armor show, he matched the big man’s intimidation with his own.
He couldn’t allow Chazz to see any weakness or the shark would take advantage of it. Truth be told Harry had done more than just take Marisa, he had taken everything James had worked for his entire life, including his identity while selling off all James assets for pennies on the dollar. All that was left of James money was what he had in his pocket.
While in Florida, James stumbles across the FBI agent Reggie Keane, the man that has tried so many times to put James behind bars for what he thinks James has done. So that was another wrinkle in James plan to get Marisa back. You see Keane was working outside of his official capacity and therefore was a free agent with no backup or assistance in any way from his co-workers at the FBI.
This team of misfit toys, were a better match than any of them wanted to admit, and quite comical at times. Will they find Marisa in time? Would James be able to start over from scratch at this point in his life?
The Multi-talented Armand Rosimila did it again! I was first introduced to his work through his zombie series Dying Days, then he started writing crime novels and who doesn’t love a well thought out crime novel?I love his charters in this series and how things are not what they seem. The invention of James Gaffney was brilliant. He is an interesting character with the "most unique" job. Where appearing to be a killer and thug helps to further his career and being on the wrong side of the law is a definite perk. -
This second book of the series picks up right where the first ended. James is on the hunt to find his kidnapped assistant Marisa with the help from a trio of unlikely partners. We have FBI agent Keane who is a somewhat friendly adversary, Chazz a wannabe made man and Marco, who has left the mob so Chazz has been sent to kill him. This foursome together makes for some great humour even during such a serious search and rescue. If you loved Dirty Deeds then you'll love this one even more. Armand Rosamilia I just have to say "Damn you for another cliffhanger." For any fan of the crime/mob genres. I can hardly wait for book 3.
-
great follow up to dirty deeds
full of humour violence and a great sub plot between 2 ex best friends
waiting for part 3 now :) -
Continued fun and games following James (although who knows if that is really his name) and his adventures in the mess he got himself into in Book 1. A fun fast read

I was wondering if the author could match the magic in the first book in his series, and he did, keeping vital elements while adding a lot of character depth.
Part 2 began appropriately with the main character in a confused funk he forces himself through. From there the story regains the first book's drive and wry wit. Steadily, former first book characters are reintroduced. Equally satisfying, new characters join in.
I particularly liked how each character is given verbal nuances that instantly characterizes and identifies them in future exchanges.
I'm not a huge fan of cliffhanger endings in books (vs action thrillers on TV) but was ready for it this time, even if I guessed wrong what it would be (smiles). There was also a fuller sense, this not being the first book, of an "episode" that finished - thus producing a satsfying ending within a larger continuing arc.
I'm definitely looking forward to #3!!!
