I enjoyed working through this book, which is stuffed with exercises and "end game principles". I had the impression that the exercises get gradually harder towards the end of the book.
The authors show admiration for the superb end games skills of Anatoly Karpov and the book contains some impressive examples (I like the spectacular win against Ljubojevic in an opposite color bishop end game the most). -
One of my all-time favorite chess books. There's no other endgame book that's so interactive like this. You aren't just reading a book, you feel like you're sitting at the board and playing the game yourself. It forces you to think about the positions in depth. No other endgame book makes it this fun and interesting to study.
