He isn’t out publicly. It shouldn’t be a big deal. But somehow, as Daniel navigates his new life with its new schedule and realizes that Aaron is the only constant in it, Aaron’s interest in men makes Daniel reconsider his own feelings. When they become sexually involved, it’s new in many ways. Daniel doesn’t dare put a label on it because he doesn’t know how Aaron feels and he doesn’t want to jinx it. If this got out, it could end Aaron’s career, and it isn’t worth it if it isn’t serious. But as time goes on, Daniel realizes it’s more than serious. It’s the most serious relationship he’s ever had. Can he overcome his own shortcomings and the scrutiny of the public if it means he and Aaron can be together?
Please This book contains Adult Language & Steamy M/M (Gay) Adult Activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novella, approx. 57,000+ words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger".

Cute, sweet, adorable. Basically, all the fluffy words.
With hot, Olympic swimmers. (Yum.)
Aaron is the best. An incredible book boyfriend, funny and all around great guy.
Daniel is... well, he's a bit of a hetero man whore, until he's not.
I have to be honest and say that his continual feelings of never being a good person, that cheating was an ingrained trait and inevitable, did get a bit grating toward the end.
But the story was mostly light, fun and slow-burn, of which I am definitely a huge fan.
The sex was pretty steamy, and the humor and banter were really on-point, so my interest never waned.
My only niggle, if I had to name one was that The Big Inevitable Confrontation at the end felt a bit forced. Rushed and oddly-timed. Then the story was over very quickly.
Yes, we got an epilogue from 3+ years later and they guys were still going strong, but it still felt like someone was waiting in the wings making that "Wrap it up" hand gesture a tad bit prematurely.
If there had been any cheating in this story, my rating would be vastly different, but as is, I'd rate this story as a solid 4 stars.

Ykno, it was my first Jerry Cole book. And the writing was a bit brisk at times, but honestly the editing was good and the overall story, while nothing new, was fun and the banter was cute and the MCs were sweet. A few eye rolls here and there but A good read for a lazy day. I was entertained and THAT is what I was looking for.

4,5 stars.
Jerry Cole is such a charming author. He writes so simple, like there is only what's absolutely necessary in the story. There could've been a lot of "decorations" but there aren't. And I just love it. I'm a fan of minimalistic, most of the time the less is the better for me. And what needs to be there in his books is there: very on-point characterization, swift progression of the plot, the essence of the relationship. And his stories just speak to me. I like the characters and I care for them and what happens between them.
'Uncharted Waters' is probably going to be one of my favorite friends-to-lovers book. I don't like friends-to-lovers generally, because: they already know each other, they already like each other, where's the drama. Okay, there was not a lot of drama either - or rather, it was a quiet, realistic, understandable one. It was very clear what Daniel and Aaron stood to lose. And they both are such likable characters. Even though the story entirely goes with Daniel as the focal character, it was so easy to understand Aaron, too, and be charmed with him. What he didn't do - didn't push, didn't make scenes - was just as telling as what he did.
I also totally enjoyed sports component of the plot. -
Enjoyed this friends to lovers story
I'm a sucker for any male romance which involves sportsmen so this one set around Olympic swimmers was a peach.
While Cole's habit of mixing up the tenses he's writing in can be frustrating, this book managed to let me get over that irritant and concentrate on Daniel and Aaron's romance.
There was a nice sense of humour to this one as well and a real sense of intimate connection between the two men.
It also has a really sweet epilogue set a couple of years later. -
Most of Jerry Cole's books end up being mediocre to okay for me, but I really liked this one. The relationship dynamics were great, and the dialogue was fantastic. Funny and comfortable together, the MC's actually had me rooting for their HEA.

3.5
I'm having a hard time rating this book. I liked it but didn't love it. I think the bones were fun and I liked the friends to lovers plot. The swimming theme was interesting. It was just that for a lot of the book I felt like I was being dragged along instead of living the story. Daniel, who made it very hard to love him, and Aaron, who should have received an achievement medal for patience. There were missed opportunities I think that I would have liked to have seen some detail about and the epilogue was a jump that the book didn't make me actually believe. The end of the story was, at best a HFN and the epilogue was so much HEA that it didn't feel legitimate. Probably because we didn't get to see or feel the work.
I'm sorry, but as a reader, if you are going to point me in a direction and want me to follow, I need details. I need specifics. I need to live it with the characters.
I really enjoyed them as friends. I think their bromance was awesome, especially their banter and physically they got pretty steamy so I did end up enjoying the book overall. This was my first from the author and I would definitely give another of his works a chance. -
Incredibly Enjoyable Read.
A lovely, fun book which kept me entertained right to the very last page (no filler at the end to bump page numbers) and probably the most amusing phone sex scenes in chapter 3! -
I love friends to lovers stories. Especially straight friend and friends ones. This one hit the mark. I'm not normally a fan of Olympics stories but this one had the perfect balance. At first I wasn't overly fond of Daniel, with the cheating thing, but after reading about his B-hole dad, he grew on me. Aaron is awesome. I would love to read more about Ben though. In fact, I enjoyed all the characters. I liked Daniel's friend Jade. This book is packed with so much for it's size. A must read that you can have time for. As you can tell, while I thought the story was great, it was the characters that were the best part.

I just loooved the friendship between Daniel and Aaron (before everything else)!
Aaron was just so sweet and even though Daniel could be frustrating at times, those two were perfect together! -
I couldn't make it past the first couple of pages- I really can't with the way this is written.
"Daniel says..."
"Daniel thinks..."
"Daniel feels bad.."
It was basically 3 whole pages of this.
It's so fucking weird, but honestly I feel like this would probably be a good story or at least a little different than other M/M I've read. BUT THE WAY ITS WRITTEN MAN! I just can't. -
What I liked:
Funny - LOL funny
Hot - wanna fan yourself hot
Interesting plot - love Olympic athletes, love competitive swimmers
Feels - all the feels, friends to lovers and GFY, yes! Score. :-)
What I did not enjoy -
Daniel's man-child ass needed to be in therapy for YEARS! He's got a huge relationship problem, he can't fix it no matter how hard he tries, but talking to a professional never occurred to anyone? Oy!
Wanted more details on the swimming, the training, the meets. Lots more. The smell of the chlorine, the slick pool deck, the chilly water, the last second grab for the wall. Not just "Aaron came in first."
Question and complaint - why is the colon and following phrase necessary in the title of this book? Titles like this make it impossible to share my Kindle with anyone and make me worry who can see over my shoulder. Forget ever leaving it unlocked with preteens in the house.
Last quibble. The first few times, there was some descriptive detail in the sex scenes. After that, everything was hints, innuendos, or happened off page. I call foul. Will I read another of this author's books? Sure. I gave it 4 stars! Doesn't mean I can't request a few edits... :-) -
„Uncharted Waters” is M/M Romance by Jerry Cole. It’s a story about ex-swimmer Daniel Barton and his best friend and also a swimmer Aaron Parker. Daniel is having a hard time with commitment and staying faithful to his girlfriends. The only thing that is constant in his life is friendship with Aaron. When he decides to visit him, he discovers that he’s really attracted to Aaron and he really cares about him…
First of all, I really enjoyed this book - no surprise here! I had some issues with connecting to Daniel, because of his views on women and relationships in general. I wanted to shake him and soothe him at the same time - talk about mixed feelings. Aaron, I really, really loved. Hes such a sweet and funny guy!
What I liked the most were dialogs - great written banter between friends. I think Jerry’s writing gets better with every book.
My favorite scene? Phone Sex! Very hot and super funny!
Recommended!

3.5 stars.
This book was entertaining and had some humor in it, except it kind of read like a teenage romance rather than men approaching their thirties.
The author gives fair warning that there is infidelity in the book, but I still got annoyed by how Daniel would explain it away by claiming he couldn't help it, making it sound like he had no control over it, which is very juvenile for someone his age. There's also a lot of "I did this all the time and thought it was innocent, but now I realize maybe it wasn't", and of course that one gay crush in your life you forgot about until just now. No one's buying that.
It's not an earth shattering romance, but it is an interesting read. The sex scenes are well written and they're cute and goofy together -
Good Story
I really enjoyed this story. Two Olympians top of their sport, both longtime friends and competitive swimmers. I loved how their friendship grew slowly into romance. The best part for me was Daniel's discovery of long unexplored feelings he had for Aaron, and the long sometimes frustrating journey it took for them to get there. The fears of Daniel and the uncertainty of Aaron brought a nice angst to the story. Well done ready for more. -
Nice writing style, pretty witty and interesting dialogues, and lovely characters.
Didn't like so much:
Daniel.
This guy is a cheater. And it’s described in the book as if this were something he just couldn’t help himself with. Yeah, awesome...
The ending.
It all felt a bit rushed. That's not necessarily bad but in that case I felt as if something were missing.
Loved
Aaron. What an amazing best friend and understanding boyfriend. -
I absolutely adored this book. Loved the strong friendship between Aaron and Daniel and that it only got better. Poor Daniel had so much to figure out about himself, luckily he had the right mom and friends to help him along the way. Loved how they were able to talk to each other and get things straight between them.

Entertaining
This was an okay story. I really do not like reading books from a single person's point of view. I like to hear and know what all parties involved are thinking. But overall this was OK, we were able to see the Daniel's internal struggle with his insecurities and inner demons. I received an advanced copy for an honest review. -
A feel good story
I adore Jerry's stories and like the others this did not disappoint. DB and Aaron are a hoot. Aaron is crazy funny and gives DB the balance he needs. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with this one and found myself laughing out loud more than once. A true feel good story. -
Very Romantic Read
Daniel and Aaron are two close friends who have an intimate evening. Daniel didn't know that he was bisexual until that evening. Daniel was a Olympiad while Aaron was still competing. It covered the ups and downs of their long distant relationship. It was a very romantic read. -
Slow, easy, relaxed loved story and read. Not to say it was boring. It was just nice to go at a different pace than 'hi-hump-HEA'. It's always a pleasure to read this author's work. The characters are are well formed, the story always at least your heart or your mind and the sex scenes are usually realistic. Cute and funny!
I liked this book. The story was cute, funny and sexy. It has the basics of BFFs to lovers but some twists with super Olympians. The only con for me is the fast forwarding to the next segment of their relationship. Great story; read it. -
I really enjoyed the dialogue and pacing of the book. Maybe not the most realistic piece (but then, do we really expect realism from straight-to-gay romance novels?) but it was still funny and almost relatable. A nice, quick, light summer vacation read. Delivered more than I expected.
