As her reputation as a psychic grows, bartender/medium Billie Culpepper is approached by a young family seeking help with a sinister entity disrupting their home. What she finds upon investigation, however, is much more than a simple haunted house. Complicating matters further is Billie's upcoming 30th birthday, a local preacher who's convinced she is a force of evil and an ambitious reporter determined to publicly discredit Billie as a dangerous fraud. While John Gantry returns to England to face his dark past, and Detective Mockler is tied up at work, Billie confronts these challenges alone. Her only ally is the grisly ghost of a child who eternally watches over her.

This is the 6th book in the series and I can't get enough of these books. They're creepy and spooky and yet fascinating as Billi uncovers more and more of her families histroy. I feel like Billi is just starting to come out of her shell and emerge as what she has always been destined to become. She seems way more confident in this book. Her relationship with the detective is heating up however I wish she would just move in with him already and that his ex would leave them alone but for some reason I believe the ex Christina might be playing a bigger role coming up in the next books...... or I could be reading into it way too much. I must admit when I read these books especially the last one I was like oh snap he's totally going to write something about this in the next book. I see plotting and story lines behind everything in these books. I could be right or I could have a really active imagination lol. Either way read this series it is so great and if you love ghost stories you most definitely will love these books!

Wow I read this one in record time! It was that enjoyable. So far I think this as got to be the best instalment yet. The characters are getting stronger and more of a personality to them. I even love john!

If I hadn't already fallen in love with his writing, this one cinched it. The nursing home, Gantry's sister & niece. Just beautiful to have background on Gantry. Family. Daaaang.

I think timing is just perfect on this one. Several pieces of the puzzle that is Billie Culpepper hit together without feeling forced. Some questions answered, others raised. This was a very satisfying story.

Southend on sea. I used to live in Leigh-on-sea. Back when I was about Billie's age

As a Christian, I like the handling of Pastor Joy. He is strong, yet does not know how to wield his sword. Faith, while a very strong weapon, can't just be thrown out there willy-nilly. Christians have all these weapons available to us, we take for granted that we must instinctively know how to effectively use them. We need to know our enemy and make the effort to learn how to use our weapons properly.

I sincerely hope Mr. McGregor rocks on with this tale. Take it as far as Billie wants to.

I've become a bit of a *Fan Girl* for these books.

At this point, we know who everyone is, and we enjoy the characters.. In this volume, we're getting into the 'why they are', histories, and how certain decisions shape the plot. I loved getting that particular glimpse into Gantry's other (family) life. He's just one of those all around characters, and his 'death' has really reshaped who we thought he was.

I'm liking where Billie's relationship is going. I love how it's not perfect, and we get to live out their mistakes with the multi point if views.

Billie's talents have evolved so much, and the occult is following her like a shadow that continues to scare the pants off of me. Every volume I'm frightened on a whole new level, and this one is no different. An oh so interesting page turning, horror-thriller that I only read in the daylight.

Can't wait to see what happens next!!

    3.5 stars

It was so wonderful to get to dive into Billie's world once again. To see and feel the grit and the gore. This installment was more character driven this time around. It was interesting to see Gantry become slightly more human. Even if he is still an extremely questionable one. It was also good to see Billie coming even more into her own.

However the ghost story left me wanting something a little more, something grander. It felt like it took a back seat this time around. The creep was there, I just wished for a bit more of it. It was understated.

I could see bits and pieces starting to come together for what could be coming further down the road and I can't wait to see what happens next.

truly love this series! You do need to read them in order...well actually, in this order: Book 2, Book 1, Book 3, Book 4, Book 5, and Book 6. (Book 2 tells how it really all started; Book 1 just dives right into it). Anyway although the "spooky" part of the book was interesting with Robin and Noah and Maya, I found myself more fascinated about learning more about Billie's family history. I really liked her new-found relative Earl and hope we see more of him in the future. We even learn more about Gantry's family which was good to see another side of him. All in all, "A Haunting in Crown Point" was a good solid story. Looking forward to the next one!

The fact that I am reviewing this after reading the sixth book should tell you how much I enjoy this series. I love Billie and her group of friends. She has evolved into her curse/gift and being along for the ride is great. I look forward to the next installment!

Another great spook show. Leaving you wanting more and a sense that Gantry is on the trail of Old Scratch and freeing his wife to come at a later date. Well done Tim

Loving every minute of this series. It has none of the teenage l0ve-at-first-sight nonsense. Excellent plot. Lovely mix of characters. Just brilliant

    Hauntingly Addictive

This book like the other's, is like a drug for me. I find myself turning page after page, all the while thinking " God it can't be that close to the end already !?!" You wouldn't be sorry for reading this entire series.

    A slower pace

So the previous books were a bit more fast paced and more action on the go kinda this one was a slow down and get to k ow more about the people in the book pace and it was worth the read.

  • Kailyn Bradshaw

    Still loving the series

    Love Love Love

I have left a review on every book of this series because I LOVE IT! I never leave reviews, but this series is a must read!

  • Brandi ;)

I am completely addicted to this series. Just when I think I have it all figured out, when I think I know all there is to know....I get blown away with something unexpected, something new, something I didn't see coming. I love that about this series.
I adore Billie & Mockler. I have this cant-get-enough/wanna-punch-him-in-the-nads kind of feeling for Gantry. My favorite 'person' in the whole series is a partially legless ghost child, Half-Boy aka Tom. He stole my heart in the beginning & just keeps digging in deeper with each book.
This book allowed Billie to learn to accept her 'gift' a little bit more & to sort of experiment with it in a way. She's been so reluctant to use it, scared of it and scarred by it, so I can't blame her for being hesitant, however I was excited to see her trying it out more, testing it a bit more & using it to help others. I love seeing her moving in that direction with her gift.
The one thing I did not care for, and this is just my personal feelings, was the Preacher calling Billie a witch and turning his congregation against her. It just wasn't my thing or a part of the story that pulled me in. It just wasn't my thing.
I enjoyed this story and I can't wait to see more of Billie opening up to her gift & finding out what all she can do with it. A huge Thank You to the author, Tim McGregor, for gifting me a copy. I loved it, as always!!
If you like ghost stories, give this series a try, I'm a ghost story nut & I can tell you this series doesn't disappoint! So read it & see for yourself. Enjoy! :)

    Another paranormal thrill ride

Love these stories Billie, Mockler and Gantry and their paranormal adventures. Pleased that Billie and Mockler are together and happy. Am hoping the next story is with Ganrty and Billie getting his wife out of shell . Loved every single book hoping there will be more

  • Boneist

I've really gotten into this series- I still don't much like Billie's friends, but they have improved. I like that we're getting to see more of her and Tom's background. A shame this is the last of the currently published books in the series.

I really enjoyed the whole series. The first one actually scared me, but the rest were a bit more low key. I wish there were more.
