Plexiglass Reviews

This is an excerpt from his latest novel "Zero K". The more I read of and about this book, the more I like it. I cannot recommend "Zero K" enough.

In "Zero K", DeLillo seems to have an obsession with death as the final humiliating act of the living. While I hope and trust "Zero K" is not DeLillo's final book, it does have that ring about it.

Rock on, Don DeLillo! May you live to write another day.

This excerpt which appeared originally in Harper's magazine is reminiscent of an earlier novel by DeLillo, Cosmopolis, in that much of it was set in a vehicle coursing through the traffic of New York. Characters echo the weird family setup in White Noise. Didn't leave any impression on me besides the usual DeLillo atmosphere of urban paranoia. And perhaps that is all there is to this excerpt: atmosphere. Even the language is subpar compared to the other books Ive rrad so far by the same author, whom I've long considered a favorite. Here's to hoping Zero K wouldn't change my mind.
