8 [Boku No Hero Academia 8] (My Hero Academia, #8) Reviews

This volume felt kind of all over the place, but I know that it was being used as a bridge into a new story arc. For the most part I enjoyed this, but I'm kind of over the over-the-top sexulization of the characters. Can Mineta just go away? I'd be okay if he left and never came back.
-
Eh... definitely the weakest volume so far. Not much in terms of story or character development, a lot of filler and too much Mineta. That creepy little perv is my least favorite thing about this entire series, and he took up so much space in this volume with his egregious behavior. Yeah, yeah, I get it, the guy has a perpetual boner, let’s move on already...

It was great to see Bakugo listen and actually work with Midoriya!
I like that it was hinted it was up to the individual teacher’s discretion if they felt their students had a sound enough plan to allow them to pass.
After final exams and the end of the first semester, the students are off to summer camp!
Before they head off though, Midoriya has a terrifying run-in with Shigaraki.
I like that we get more than just the students' perspectives.
I also can’t wait to see more of the League of Villains! I know they have a major story arc later though I’m quite a ways from that.
Anyway, before they even get to their destination, Class 1-A is tested by… the Wild, Wild Pussycats!
The new characters seem like fun. I especially liked the introduction of Kota and his negative opinion of heroes. Sounds weird but it makes sense not everyone is a fan. -
This is the 8th Arc of the story (The School Trip Arc )
It includes chapters #70-83
This picks up the story from where the TV show ended
As usual, fast pacing, new characters, awesome quirks and many plans and twists
This Arc just proves that the story has much to offer and the action was top notch ^-^ -
final exams arc continuation + the beginning of forest training camp arc
HIGHLIGHTS:
- shoto+momo=an amazing team
- I really love shota man
- kacchan+deku vs all might is SO IMPORTANT AND INSIGHTFUL. we finally learn why katsuki wants to become the number one hero so badly
- fumikage and tsuyu are so smart, I’m a proud mother
- koji’s power to control animals!! where has he been all this time? AND he can speak, too??
- ochaco‘s internal struggle begins (thanks to yuga)
- midnight is so inappropriate I LOVE HER
- minoru is. annoying. what a creep
- that little boy at the training camp is literally me (he likes: being alone) I wanna learn more about him
- NEW ADVENTURES BEGIN
overall this series is just oh so satisfying, it’s like a video game with multiple levels. -
Following the same vein as the last volume, this was kind of meh. It also is cementing my hatred of Mineta. High notes were Shigaraki showing up and the new villains introduced.
Here's hoping the summer camp stuff is more fun. -
I enjoyed the first part of this book but the rest of it just didn't hold my attention all that well. I liked that the girls were instrumental in a lot of the practicals where the faced off against their teachers. I enjoyed the resolution of Bakugo and Deku's team up. That was about it, honestly.
Again, Mineta is the absolute worst. Peeking in on the girls in the hot tub was gross and his constant talking about how he only wanted to be a hero so he'd get a girl was so annoying. I don't know if I'm meant to like this character at all? Yeah, I get it, this book is mostly targeted to young boys but... I'd hope young boys don't read this series and want to be like Mineta? -
Felt uncomfortable with the perverted jokes made by Mineta all throughout the volume. Despite that, I really love the battle between the students and the teachers. It simply showed that the students were really full of potential. I hope we get to see their quirks become more powerful in the future volumes.

There is not another character in this universe I hate as much as Mineta.

Bakugo and Midoriya having to figure things out together couldn't have been done more epic-ly than this. All of the fights are resolved in this volume and they all highlight interesting fighting strategies but also a lesson in teamwork.
The volume also begins the next story arc and there's nothing more exciting than a practical portion to your education. Can't wait to see where things go from here on out.

From the standpoint of battles, this wasn't all that much. Sure, it was the final exam time for the first years, but interestingly enough, I was more into the little look into the future when Midoriya met our creepy decaying big bad at the mall to have a little coercive chat.
The rest was pretty interesting, but this is what stood out the most for me. It's the definition of goals, after all. Even villains need to get their priorities straight. :) -
Buko No Hero Academia vol. 8
this might be my favourite volume so far . I loved it so much , from fighting All Might through the results until reaching the woods for some summer trainning. I did enjoy seeing the other studies fighting their teachers also. and of course I will never get boring seeing Mineta and Kaminari being stupid , funny and pervert. but though, seeing Tomura Shigaraki full face and trying to smile like a creep , the image will hunt me all night . -
If the author wasn't such a fucking pervert, MHA could be good. As is, I'm in awe that a page calling a 15-year-old "SEXY" and 'joking' about the author's "inclinations" was allowed to be published.

I want and need to read these books more often, so I don't forget the actual plot.

I loved the character development, the plot of the exams and the showcase of the individual abilties. It's a shame that every strength of this series is matched by the authors digusting horniness over teen girls! Momo's design did bother me when I began the series, but having read a few shounen series by now, I could look past it. The continuous commentary on girl's "developing quickly at that age" and Mineta's constant disgusting commentary is doing nothing but turn me off the series. I really love every other element in thr storytelling, and for now I'll continue the series despite my aversion to the "humourous" content of the series, but honestly I can only hope the issue is resolved or improved later in the series because I cannot stand to hear one more line about a 15 year olds boobs!
-
I honestly think I’m done with this series, the hyper sexualization of the female characters is appalling and they’re all literally just side characters. The notes of the book have some pretty yucky comments from the author about Momo’s outfit and how he keeps drawing it lower cut (she’s a teenager). Also the unnecessary sexual comments and disgusting pranks from Mineta are so ridiculous. We get it, teenage boys are horny, you don’t need to tell us. I’m sad because I really like the superhero plot and love Deku and Todoroki but I’ve finally reached my limit on sexualization and relegation to side character of the girls in this series.

My hero academia has a very childish art style, but it has conquered manga readers and anime followers by alike. The protagonist aims to be a hero without powers in a world where 80% of the population have superpowers. The affability of the characters and the array of different personas drive a simple story of growth, ambition and fighting for the Good.

Another fun volume and by this point in the manga the anime had started which is cool. Loved seeing all the teacher fights, wish there had been more of them drawn because they were just so good! Now its summer training time, still think the cats are odd but it should be neat to see the rest of this arc play out. Also I wish Mineta would just go away. He's somehow worse for me in the manga.
-
Mineta sale demasiado ugh. Lo odio y odio su existencia.
-
Another fun volume! Can´t wait to read this arc.
My hero academia volume 8 by Kohei Horikoshi get a 9.2/10 stars. -
One of the best volumes so far. The story arc keeps you interested from the first moment. / Ciltler arasından okuduğum en iyisi. Hikayenin olay örgüsü siz ilk andan kendine çekiyor...

It's nice to see that more villans are getting involved but it still somewhat gets boring in between but I know that it will be a lot better in the following volumes. I like that there putting Bakugo and Deku to work together even though they don't really get along- but it's better to build at least some kind of trust between them. With that, I think this volume is when their character development begins :)

Bueno, Mineta me cae mal.
