The Last Refuge (The Last Survivors #5) Reviews

    I cannot put these down!

I have officially stopped doing anything else not required in my life to read this series. I simply cannot wait to see how it unfolds. I am emotionally distraught over the losses in this book, but I am also super excited to see the turn in power. I love the groups that have formed - I adore these characters, and that - in my opinion - is the greatest thing an author (or authors in this case) can achieve... characters written so well that the reader is fully invested in and cares about them. Read this series - you won’t be disappointed.

You never disappoint Mr. Piperbrook & Mr. Adair...

Book 5 of 6 was amazing!

I love to read science fiction books. Habe since I was young. This series has definitely captured me throughout.

Follow Ella, William, Bray, Blackthorn, Winthrop, Fitz, Beck, Franklin, Oliver, and many others as they struggle to survive in a world full of demons. 300 years after the fall of civilization to the disease is the lives of these people. It will capture you from the start.

    Oh my WORD!

This book had it all! So sad that we lost some friends, but the end was amazing! I knew y'all wouldn't keep women down! I hate to give spoilers writing reviews, I'll just say whoa! Women saved the town!? I love they used smarts against the men that treated them like trash to do with as they pleased. I don't even want to recover, I'm headed to the next book right now. Don't care that it's 3:30am.

    Loved it

This series has been amazing since the first book. This book did not disappoint. The story and characters came alive on the paper. The author is not only good at making characters evolve and grows over time but to tell a story in such a way that your pulled in from the start. I highly recommend

    Best Book of the Series!!

The Last Refuge is my favorite book so far in this series. So much has happened to these characters since the first book. Some of my favorite characters have died and others characters I didn’t expect to like have grown on me. So much happened in this book I’ll have to take time digest it before jumping into the last book. Well done!

    Leading to an end

This is my favorite book so far in the series. My favorite part are the survivors Melora, Bray, Ellie and now Ivory, Jingo, Beck and Oliver. My second favorite is Fitz and Franklin. This book has a lot on both, very interesting. Now on to the final book and the ending of the story.

This has got to be the best book in the series.I found them difficult to get into at first, but I am pleased that I kept reading, as finally we get some progress and the women in particular are fighting back, I was not to pleased how they began to fight back but hopefully we have more bad ass women in the next book? there was certainly that hint at the end of this one. 4 stars

    Daunting

This series was difficult for me at first. Each book drew me in more to the point I was addicted. The apocalyptic aspect is different than others I find it interesting. The characters are well defined as are their relationships. Worth reading to be sure.

its getting drug out. Plus to many characters. Because of that we go chapters without knowing what it going on with them. This is getting to be all over the place with the story line. This should have been a 3-4 book series. Pages of mindless dribble that doesn't need to be in the story.

  • Murdock Hendrix

starting on the last book in the series.

  • Tracy

    So many character deaths 😭😭

  • Zach Decker

Wasn't able to suspend my disbelief through the majority of the heavy handed 'poor me' pity drama.

  • ♥ Marlene♥

I think I liked book 5 the best out of this series. Loved the insanity of a certain person and what happened with the army. Very much enjoyed.

  • Otis Doss III

This may have been the best one so far. And brutal. Just plain brutal.

    Notes:

It only took 5 books for the females to revolt. =P

4.5 Stars. Read from 20% through to the end in one session when I should have been sleeping. Again. You get a heck of a culmination of events and then another twisty twist for good measure.

  • FesterMull

Game of Thrones eat your heart out. Lots of character deaths when least expected. Good ending forces you straight to the next and last book in the series.

  • Mark

A few surprises in this episode. I'm interested to see what happens in the next book.

    A dark continuation

Fantastic book, but man some really scarring things happen in it!
    Loved it.

Not bad, but should have been edited down to 3 books.

This series keeps getting better and better! There are a few sad losses in this book and one hell of an OMG ending! My jaw dropped! Bobby Adair and T.W. Piperbrook are really amazing authors. Sean Runnette is the perfect narrator for this story! Great series so far. I'll be sad to see it end.
