Alien Architects Bride (Draconians, #5) Reviews
-
This was my first book to read in this series and I was pleased. It was a quite predictable alien sci-fi romance but for a short and steamy indulgence it did the trick. I'm glad it was offered as a kindleunlimited. I'll likely check out more in this series.

Joss is different from the other men, he's an a**, “stop talking,” he said, rolling over to sleep. “I grow weary of your words. I must sleep now. My journey was long and you are exhausting.” Once he got his head out of his butt he was a pleasant man to read about.

Easy read with a HEA.
Would benefit from some editing.
It’s fun, quick and fluffy piece of literature. -
Building Up....
The arrival of the Draconians to earth caused their enemy to follow them to earth and destroy New York City in it's entirety. Civilians of the city are living in tents in a refugee camp in Central Park in the most horrible conditions.
The Draconian Grand Architect Joss is sent to earth to build housing for the survivors, but his idea of housing is Draconian Colonial style, in other words boxes. Joss considers human inferior beings to the Draconian and wants nothing to do with the Mating Lottery, he will not take a human to mate. When he is entered in the lottery through no choice of his own, he is confronted by a feisty human mate who turns out to be a graduate in urban development and totally against the plans he has for Central Park.
Will Octavia be able to turn the stoic Draconian Architect to her way of thinking, or will his dragon make him go mad. -
Basically...Alien dragon shifter Joss has a low opinion of humans and understands little of their needs as he imbarks on the rebuild of New York City. A quite angry Octavia, a human refugee after the city's destruction, offers her assistance with the designs but all attempts are thwarted. Surprise! The mating pool pairs Joss and Octavia. A little unemotional foreplay (?) end chapter 8 of 15 and end of the I had in reading on. Hours later and a change of heart in completing the story, there is one dragon shift for transport purposes only, more poorly written unappealing foreplay, sex and a HEA.
The best part of reading this book is that it has saved me from probably reading more from this author.

I received an ARC of 'Alien Architect's Bride' from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I jumped right into this, I couldn't wait to find out what was instore for Earth especially after the Mulgor attack in the previous book, also I wanted to read who would find their Draconian mate. Scarlett has me ADDICTED!! 'Alien Architect's Bride' is book 5 in Scarlett's "Draconian" series, I highly recommend you read the first books prior to this book, although it's not needed, you really should read them order. Set some months after the Muglor attack, which left Earth's cities demolished & the remaining citizens struggling to survive & slowly starting the rebuild. Octavia is young but being a qualified architect, she is on the commitee among the survivors to rebuild. When the Draconians finally let known their plans for rebuilding, Octavia wants to see if she can persuade them to change the plans. The only way she can even see the Draconian in charge, she has to enter the mating lottery. Grand Architect Joss has landed on Earth, with no intention of ever finding a mate or entering the lottery, unfortunately the rules are in place & he finds himself mated...
Again Scarlett drew me in, got me HOOKED to the story I was reading... I loved how Scarlett wrote this story, you had everything that draws you into a story, an amazing backstory, a sassy leading lady, the massive amount of action; steamy or otherwise... everything weaved together in the story, that had me entranced until the end. I can't wait to read the next book in this new series & also other books from Scarlett. -
Finally, you get to the last guy in the series and you think, well, he’s a civilian, so maybe, just maybe, he’ll be a little less straight and narrow. Besides, architects are artistic souls, right? Well, apparently not draconians, or not this one at least. No one knows more about his subject than Joor. No one can tell him anything. Humans are scum and to be wiped off his shoe like mud…or gum, you get the picture. He couldn’t be bothered with reading anything that Commander Or sent him regarding humans or their needs, he was too busy drawing the white box barracks that he thought would be best for the new human “colony” since Draconia was now colonizing Earth. Didn’t matter to him that rebuilding Earth wouldn’t have been necessary had the Draconians not made one mistake after another, his opinion was it was all the humans’ fault because they weren’t high enough up the evolutionary food chain to handle everything that had happened in the last six years.
In steps Octavia, a multi-degreed urban planner, with as much knowledge as Joor, but, because she’s human he feels she’s to stupid to have anything relevant to add to any conversation. Since she was chosen by the Great Draconian DNA Computer System that chooses their mates for them, he’s in a major fix because his dragon’s going crazy and he needs Octavia to cooperate to prepare her for mating. Only problem is, he keeps telling her everything she says is irrelevant, making her feel irrelevant, so, she takes her irrelevant self and leaves him high and dry. Serves him right.
Eventually, they do come to a meeting of the minds, after a lot of ups and downs, and get to their HEA. I think they have to work for it harder than any couple in this series, but he does lose his major jerk qualities along the way. Thankfully. No one deserves to be saddled with that as a life partner. -
I really like these Draconians
This is the story of Octavia Reynolds who is just one of the humans survived the bombing of earth by the aliens Murados. Draconians are there now trying to set back up New York and the world after millions and millions were killed. She is part of the survivor camp set up in Central park. She is a professional urban planning developer so she wants to meet this Grand Architect of Draconia Joss Noro. The only way she can meet his is to join the mating lottery. She doesn't want to but she goes ahead and gives her DNA and lo and behold guess who she is mated with. To Josh Noro who has no respect for humans. Their relationship starts off so bad and you get to watch it grow in this story.. This has a happy ever after ending. -
Cleaning up the consequences of the previous story
Octavia blamed the Draconians for the condition New York city is in, the Draconians were protecting Earth and a middle aimed at New York got past them. But just as potentially disastrous for New York city could be an Alien architect's reconstruction plan.
This story is about respect, respecting cultures, values, people, their words and ideas, and being mindful of showing your respect. -
Points for Octavia actually having sass after four books of purportedly sassy characters.
Points taken away because her first reaction to a guy she knows she hates and is righteously angry with is "omg he's hot take me nao."
In the end, like the other four, it's an ok read. It's short, so that's great for those of you short on time. -
After the Mulgar almost destroy earth it has to be rebuilt. Problem is how to rebuild it? The Draconian's have their own ideas but what about what the humans want? Octavia intends to fight for at least keeping Earth like Earth and rebuilt in another planet's image. First she has to figure out how to get the dragons to listen to her. This is a fantastic journey to save everything.

This can be read as a stand-alone. I have read some in this series but not all and was able to follow the story. Octavia hates the Draconians for causing so much destruction to the Earth but she ends up singing up for the draconians mate lottery. Her mate was a huge jerk I didn’t like him at all.

Understanding and forgiveness
Exciting vision of what could be, should be when you open your heart and your mind not to mention Alien men with a particular additive to spice up your love life! -
This was pretty good. Has the suspense of the alien planets environment and the intensity of two strong-willed and very independent characters with the only thing they have in common is that they don't want to be matched, they are very well matched but learn the hard way which was fun to read.

This is the final and best of the series yet!
These stories are awesome! Joss, alien architect and Indigo, who applies to be someone's mate and end up his. All this to get her ideas heard! -
Must read
Loved it. Finding romance after destruction only if she gets her stubborn alien mate to listen to her and respect her -
