The Victorians (Usborne History of Britain #7) Reviews

  • The Library Mouse Tales

This is one of the non-fiction books we have at home about the Victorian Era. We are studying the Victorians at school this term so I found this book was a helpful way to learn some extra detail about the Victorian times and how people lived in Britain in the 1800s.

The book is published by Usbourne as part of their “History of Britain” series. We have a few other Usbourne books at home and they are always useful for learning about different topics. This small book contains a lot of facts and information and lots of interesting images. It is 64 pages long but nearly every double page is made up of 50% text and 50% pictures (cartoons, illustrations, paintings and photographs) so you don’t feel like there is too much to read.

Each double page covers a different area of life in Victorian times such as Queen Victoria, Politics, the poor, the industrial Revolution, transport, school and lots more.

There is an index at the back to help you quickly look up topic areas and there is an Usbourne website which allows you to access their recommended internet-links if you want to do more research yourself.
