The Reset Factor: 45 Days to Transforming Your Health by Repairing Your Gut Reviews

  • Stacey Lord

Very informative, however might be time for a new edition. There are multiple typos in this book. What I found most disappointing is that the author frequently references the webpage
www.resetfactor.com which seems to no longer exist. Because of this, the resources she recommends on her website are not available.

  • Timilyn

Already sleeping better! And I've seen numbers on the scale I haven't seen since before my first pregnancy!

  • Shanley

Easy enough to read. I'm currently on day 14 of my 15-day detox, so clearly it was compelling enough for me to try it.

The book is missing a bit of information, could use a timeline of when to take which supplements, I created one for myself.

It also occasionally talks about exercise routines she'll have you do during the reset, and there is no mention of that in the book - I kept anticipating an appendix with some exercise routines in it.

Additionally, I eat a vegan and gluten-free diet, and there is no accomodations in the book for this, so I've been figuring it out with other resources, but this is an area that is lacking in the book.

These missing things are the reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5.

Holding out on the 5 star rating until I give the rest a personal trial :-)

Dr. Pelz is masterful in communicating complex science so simply. She was so easy to read and understand. I’m so eager to start this reset and will be back to finish my review.

  • Doreen

Informative and easy read on gut health and why it’s so important. Dr Mindy supplies her recipes in the final chapter.

  • Anna Clark

Great for a reset. Back to intermittent fasting for the win

  • Susan

Really informative and gives some great strategies and guidance for making changes.

  • Anant Kanndpal

Good, clear, informative. Strategies here cover holistic eating and healthy recovery. Might lead to health.

Full Disclosure: I'm a bit of a biased reader on this one. I know Dr. Mindy well and think what she's doing is amazing for humans everywhere.

The Reset Factor is a must-read for anyone looking for THE solution to deteriorating health. Guys, the answer is (and always has been) diet and exercise. The problem, of course, is that there are a thousand books out there disputing just what kind of diet and just what kind of exercise matters. Dr. Mindy's method is tried and true and natural as can be. It works.

Dr. Mindy outlines the steps to get your health back on track, no matter where you are in life. She's your teacher, your guru and guide, and your cheerleader on your path to health. If you find her prose to be enthusiastic, know none of that is fabricated. That's Dr. Mindy! She loves her patients and wants to make the world a better place with preventative health.

There are a couple things that are mentioned in this book that I wish were explained more... like the brief mention of vaccines being no bueno (obviously this is a contentious topic) and the section about fasting. The book also seems to be geared more toward women than men, though I'm sure it applies equally well to both genders.

Bottom line, if you're ready for a health change, read this book and get started on the reset right away. It's awesome stuff.

This book was just not for me. I enjoy Mindy's YouTube videos, hence I wanted to check out her book.

This was just a super long list of things I mustn't eat. It was too much fear-mongering in a single book for me to handle. It could all be true but I don't like to pick a book just to dread my life.

Plus this was too US-centric, i couldn't relate to a single food she was mentioning. Yes, the problems are similar but the solutions are so out of my area that they seem impossible.

What's the point of a book that tells me everything that's wrong with my diet but not give me tools to correct it? I didn't have a satisfying experience reading this book, rather I felt like I'll have to do lots of research to fit these learnings into a non-US lifestyle.

Definitely not worth the effort. I would rather watch her videos which atleast would be updated from time to time.

I read the book - not one time but multiple times, and am now on day 11 of the fall 15-day detox. This takes commitment and planning, but it is absolutely doable. I am already feeling better than ever. More energy, mental clarity, focused, I sleep better, everything tastes better and... my cravings are gone. The wonderful thing about this book is that it is written in a "language" that everyone understands. If you are about to start a journey to a better health, I can highly recommend this book.

3.5 stars. A lot information, sometimes a bit repetitive. Not sure this something I'd be able to do.

  • Nancy Golinski

    Great Info

I really enjoyed this book and learned quite a bit. Can't wait to try the 15 day detox and see how I feel.

Hands down, this is the most insightful, helpful book I have ever read on health. It has changed my life for the better in every way. I can't recommend this book highly enough!
