2 (Perfect World, #2) Reviews

fuck. the ending of this volume hurt a lot.
-
It seemed happiness was not on the cards for Tsugumi and Ayukawa in this second instalment of the manga series.
The addition of two new love interests for both Tsugumi and Ayukawa really mixed stuff up. On top of that, the couple faced opposition from Tsugumi’s parents and with increased pressure because of Ayukawa’s health troubles and Tsugumi’s mental vulnerability, the plot completely spiralled into unhappiness until it ended with an unexpected bang.
This was a hard vol to read because of the harsh reality and painful stigma depicted in it. It was nice to see the couple endure slightly in the face of all their obstacles, but that unexpected ending definitely spells future troubles for Tsugumi and Ayukawa in

Rating : 4✨
Once again, we read about real-life issues that disabled people face in their daily life. It's quite poignant, and it hurts to see both characters reach out to each other, but still failing. They fail not because of communication, but because their relationship is young and they still have to adapt around each other.
I really enjoy this second manga, I almost cried at some point. It's a touching tribute, I think. It's real, and raw. They are insecure, but they still try to understand each other. They are honest, and faithful. It's honestly just sweet. -
Wow, talk about a roller coaster of emotions.
If being in a relationship wasn’t hard enough, being with someone who’s have a disability might come with more problems than Tsugumi thought. On one hand, her parents don’t seem to be so happy about her relationship with Itsuki. Also, his caregiver kind of has a crush on him and she’s seen as a new ‘love rival’ because she’s more fitted to take care of Itsuki. On top of that, Tsugumi meets with an old friend who always had a crush on her when they were young.
All these people seem to have a problem with both being in a committed relationship and that takes its toll. Itsuki accidently hurts himself and has these dreams (or more like nightmares?) where he can see himself walking again though this might never come true in reality due his injury. Tsugumi too, she starts to feel panic attacks and anxiety that leads to her having an actual accident.
Now, I understand that the people they know might have their own opinion on things but ultimately, they do have a nice relationship. They do communicate and little by little, they’ve been falling in love with each other. Nobody said that a relationship was easy and of course their situation is tough enough, but I think that they make each other happy and that’s all that matters in the end.
I really love this manga and the fact that it talks about the cold, cruel, harsh reality of things instead of just romantizing every single scene. Now, with this I don’t mean they don’t share fuzzy moments, but their relationship seems more mature and ay my age, that’s an absolute win.
Being with someone because you want to and actually working on your relationship when something’s not right means you care. Talking things through and exposing yourself to someone else might seem hard but it’s worth it in the end. Always.
This volume contains chapter 5 – 9.

Wow this series is so emotional and stressful but so good! As we continue to follow our main characters and their romance, some stressful situations start to pop up for our characters. Looks like we have some love triangles coming in that I’m not crazy about but still a engaging manga that truly lets us in on the struggles of someone disabled and in a wheelchair. From his every day life to trying to have a relationship, you truly feel for the characters in this story as they try to navigate everything together. I would be ok with the other guy coming in for the love triangle, but the nurse has gotta go😝😝😝😝 -
Wer Band 1 mochte, sollte unbedingt weiterlesen :)

The romance between Itzuki and Tsugumi blossoms – and the love triangles are introduced. I’m 100% invested now. Cannot believe I’m committing to a manga series! Me?! The one who has refused to be completely sucked into manga knowing they go on and on and on and on. I’ll be tapping my fingers impatiently awaiting the library cataloguer finishing the prep-to-shelve of #3.

It's okay I guess -
Why was I already crying when nothing sad happened? This story is so heart-warming and tender (and guaranteed to give you emotional damage).

4.5/5
These first two volumes have been so intense and emotional. I love these two together and while I desperately want them together, I respect the author for being so open and honest (often heartbreakingly so) regarding the challenges they face together and alone. I can't speak to the disability rep but I did some research online for people's real-life experiences with disability and found the feelings and thoughts to be realistic. I feel like people often put those with disabilities on a pedestal to be used as "inspiration porn" and that ultimately doesn't give room for the very human experiences of shame, regret, and anger, so I'm grateful the author incorporates these feelings as well as hope. -

Realistis, tapi tetap dramatis. Suka.
