Blightlore (Cadis Trilogy, #2) Reviews

These books follow Venn, who is not your typical main character, which I love!! Her character development is leaving me so giddy. It's slow and realistic so it doesn't take you by surprise and it isn't unbelievable. What's even better is that her development isn't the only one we get to witness. There are some amazing supporting characters in this story that bring their own uniqueness into it, I can't choose a favorite.
This is the sequel to Bloodlore and I can't believe the skills Krista possesses for world-building. The world just keeps on getting better, more complex. It keeps you on your toes and I love how the problems they have to face are unique to my reading experience. I haven't read about characters taking on a journey like this and I am loving every moment of it. It's action-packed and we learn the meaning behind what exactly is Cadis.
These books aren't heavily into romance, so if that's your thing, then you are set! Unfortunately, I'm a romance addict so it took me a little bit more to get into it but I managed it. We learn more about this world but we still have things to resolve and I can't wait to see how they wrap up.
The last 100 pages or so left me broken-hearted and shedding so many tears. The emotions were torn out of me without any warning. There are two things in particular that happen by the end that left me feeling raw and exposed. I was in denial for a bit before coming to terms with what took place.
I am super excited to see what their next step takes them. I also can't afford another loss so I'm pretty scared as much as I am excited.
    4.5 stars!

I don't know what it is about Venn that has captured my heart. Perhaps her strong heart, her strong will, her will to do whatever it takes to succeed, or the way she chooses her friends, and fights for them to the bitter end.

She has become a leader, but at the same time, feels trapped in this role.
The Blight that is eating up the realm, is something no one has ever faced before. The enemy is getting smarter and more dangerous.

Venn will have to stay strong to survive, but what happens next will eat away at the foundation of her being.

Loved this book, started the last in the series right away!

Pleasantly surprised! The first book was commendable - a story that built at a fair pace, while leaving much details of the environments to the reader’s imagination. But this second instalment caught me off guard on more than one occasion, made me grin with a wry satisfaction, or genuinely made my mouth drop on more than one occasion, all while progressing at a very accessible pace. Nice to see some legitimately-crafted coming out of Canada’s capital, and looking forward to what Book 3 (Bladelore) delivers for the trilogy’s conclusion.

I love this book so much I have actually procrastinated writing this, because I thought nothing I wrote would do it justice. This series & this book are among my absolute favorite works. This fantasy world is so fascinating, complicated, well-written and -characterized that I never want to leave it. Now I will have to go back and read all of my books by Ms. Walsh...and you totally should, too!

After Bloodlore (Cadis Trilogy Book 1), I was dying to start Blightlore, so the very next day I started it. The meaning of "Cadis" is revealed in this one, and oh, boy, does it kick the plot up about 100 notches!

The book is really funny at times, sad at other times, and exciting all the time. The things I like the best are the swears that Venn comes out with. I've taken to highlighting them on my phone and taking screenshots so I can practice them and confuse people. I also love how the relationships in the main crew of characters develop and change as they're thrown into situation after situation.

Just like with all of the author's other books, this one is very well written and thought out, and when I was finished I was on the edge of my seat to know how it was all going to end.

Wonderful next step. Blightlore, by Krista Walsh is the second book of the Cadis Trilogy. You can read other reviews for story and that kind of thing. I'll save my raves for the next review, which quite frankly I will write immediately. The reason? When I finished Blightlore, I couldn't wait, so I literally bought the next book, on Friday, and read it through, until this morning, Sunday. I read the first book, Bloodlore, last weekend. So one week to complete what was going to be my summer reading. You'll note that today is June 26. As a story reader, I enjoy a whopper of a tale. Don't wait to get started on this one. You are going to love it.

I really really enjoyed this book. I like Venn's character and how she continues to grow, though she may never be completely "good"(and that's okay, because I think it's what's so appealing). I loved seeing her relationships with the other characters grow. Even if I was reminded by close to the end why I shouldn't grow attached to certain authors' characters. My heart was breaking, but I can't wait to read the next book anyway.

Having read Bloodlore, I had to dive right into Blightlore to see what happens next!

The story draws you in and quite frankly is quite hard to put down. Following the adventures of Venn and seeing her learn and grow, Krista's writing keeps you interested and wanting more. I can hardly wait to see how it all ends up in #3.

    Blightlore Book 2

Can't wait to see what happens to Venn, Will, and Thom. I always hate reading the last book of a series because I don't want the story to end! Thanks again Krista Walsh for your stories!!
