Skull Scrying: Animal Skulls in Divinatory Trance Reviews
-
This booklet presents a concise introduction to the process of scrying with animal skulls.
It's sort of an extension of her previous work, "Skin Spirits" but it can be read on its own.
I've been a big fan of Lupa's work since discovering her, this unique guide was a treat to read and put into practice. I'm terrible at scrying. I lack patience. I can only look at a bowl of water or a black mirror for so long before I throw up my hands in disgust and call it a night. Scrying with skulls, however, is an entirely different beast (bad pun, I know), so if you're as bad at scrying by traditional methods as I am, you may be pleasantly surprised when trying this approach. This book will get you started. Where you take it from there is up to you and the skulls. -
This is not something everyone would enjoy. Skull is, after all, a very clear symbol of death and might make someone uneasy. But they have such strong spirits lingering to them and if one "works" with various non-human spirits, this is kind of extension to that path.
Lupa warns that because the booklet is small and more, should I say, informal, it may have some errs to it. And nonsense, I couldn't spot any grammatical oops. Her language is very clear and easy to understand.
This booklet has a bit on ethics, something one needs to figure out first: how, what and why to seek skulls and try this kind of communication. Moving on to dealing with spirits and then practical information. There are tips and examples throughout the booklet.
I personally recommend this work. Go and buy a copy. Or a download. -
This brief tome gets to the heart of ethics in procuring a skull as well as the logistics and spiritual practice of using animal skulls as divinatory tools. Concise and not at all dense, the material is clearly and simply laid out, making it easily accessible. Can't wait to try these techniques myself. :)
