This one is soooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the other three! And it's different and unique and pretty awesome!

Quick Background: Famous singer in a rock group Tyler Saxon Grayson, or better known by his stage name "Sax" has some problems. His ex-girlfriend Gina is a psychopath who is stalking him and doing crazy things. He needs to get off her Hollywood star radar, so his manager or whoever decide to change his appearance and send him to high school for safety until Gina is caught. They don't change his name, but they start calling him by his real name, Tyler, because everyone knows him only by his stage name. They change his last name to "Steele", the last name of Marissa from book 2 because Marissa offered to let him stay with her cousin and aunt in Texas. He goes to school and meets Aria, the senior leader of the band and the girl Tyler (we'll call him Tyler) decides he wants to date. Aria is very talented and pretty.

Okee. As you can see this book was way more creative than the last three. It doesn't take place in Hollywood and it's more exciting because Aria doesn't actually know that Tyler is a celebrity. How could she? They cut his hair, dyed it blond, and removed his piercings.

It's ironic that her name is Aria. An aria is a long, accompanied song for a solo voice, typically one in an opera or oratorio. Hence, music. Her school idolizes their sports (mainly football) teams and ridicule the band. That doesn't stop Aria. She works very hard to keep the band together even though everyone keeps quitting because the football players are messing with their instruments. That made me mad. Instruments are very delicate and expensive! You can't just dump liquids inside them as pranks!

What I also really liked about Aria was that she wasn't this master flirt like the last three girls. Tyler chased her, not the other way around. It was actually really cute! I liked the romance in this one the best. I like that Aria was reserved and didn't freak out and fangirl when she found out who Tyler really was. How did she find out? Well two of her guy friends from the band, her, and Tyler decided to start a garage band. When they performed at the talent show, the did a cover of one of Tyler's songs and Tyler was supposed to "lip sync".
After the show, Aria goes to turn off the mp3..........only to discover that it was never on and wasn't playing during the show......to double check, she pulled up images of Sax, Tyler's celebrity alter ego, and compared the faces.

Well she did kind of freak out, but it wasn't like OHMYGODMYFAVORITEHOTCELEBRITYROCKSTARISMYBOYFRIENDILOVEYOUSAX!

It was more like a runawayfromyougivemetimeforthistosinkin.

And it turns out one of the other members of their garage band, Ethan, had figured it out before but never mentioned anything!

On a slightly stranger note, this town's main business is a lizard factory. Yes you read correctly, I promise you are not going insane. A LIZARD FACTORY!

It's called the Leithville Lizard Factory and it's that largest-business-in-town-where-most-of-the-parents-are-employed.

I like that this book, unlike the others, is written from both Aria's and Tyler's perspectives. It gave the book more depth and dimension.
My one criticism? All four books pretty much end the same way. "He kissed me" "I kissed her" "I love you" "kiss me" yadah yadah yadah.

    However, Great book!

Hahaha! In each of these books in the series, the male celebrity is "the hottest" (fill in the blank) in his position. The hottest rock star in this case. I do love his name, Sax Grayson. Aria is a senior in high school and is "teaching him how to play guitar" and is surprised at how quickly he picks it up. They start a garage band, and they start to date but she doesn't know he's a rock star. Sax is in a small town in Texas to basically hide out. That is the part I found hard to believe. What senior wouldn't know who THE hottest rock star is? But you can imagine her surprise when she discovered who he really was and that SHE was in a garage band with him!

Aria is what I'd stereo-typically call the typical teenage girl who has fantasies and daydreams about things that many young girls do: being some rock star's girlfriend. I actually found myself going back to the good ol' days when I was in LOVE with Paul McCartney of the Beetles. But I did the second best thing and found myself a boyfriend who was from England, so it was the second best thing. lol But I really did love how this author was able to make me relive some of my teen fantasies.

Despite what it looks like, because unless I'm on a Goodreads kick like lately I'm seriously terrible about marking books read, I've read all but one of Emily Evan's Books. Her writing is phenomenal and she's seriously talented. I think what I like most about the majority of her cannon is that she writes on a lot of fantasy themes, not fantasy as in the genre, fantasy as in the stuff you day dream about but you know will never happen. She's excellent at creating a scenario where it actually feels like this teenage daydream of most girls could happen and it's almost like getting to live it vicariously through her characters. Her works is always clean, professional and well written.

Accidental Rock Star is no exception to that rule. The logical part of the reader might know that the chances of a Rock Star hiding out in a small Texas town as a high school band student are slim, but Evans has a way of making it feel like it actually would. Her characters are humorous and well developed and her plot lines are a wonderful blend of the entertainment industry fantasy and average high school life. Each one of these tales, in this series especially has a real Cinderella like feel to it and what girl doesn't have a secret Cinderella fantasy whether she admits it or not?

Evans focuses more on characters development and teenage issues than on being a rock star in previous series books, a movie star, but reading her books is much like fulfilling one of those secret teenage fantasies you daydreamed about when watching a movie or looking at a poster. Or in my not shy at all daughter's case, pronounced loudly to anyone who will listen. (She's currently determined she's going to marry the lead singer of Black Veil Brides. She's living proof that the fantasy of marrying or dating your favorite rock star or singer is alive and well) The tale is fast past and a clean love story that never crosses the line between suitable for younger teens and too adult, while still being mature enough that an adult reader can enjoy the quick forray into the world Evans builds for them.

Definitely recommended, and it leaves me with a strong desire to move to Texas because seriously in Evans Texas half the girls end up marrying Rock Stars, Movie Stars, Princes or traipsing off to adventurous government testing boarding schools. Not all of that happens in this book, but trust me all it takes is reading one Emily Evans book to have you hunting down the rest to enjoy the ride through them all.

A Rock Star far from home
A drum major in need of a musician
And dreams waiting to be discovered.

A Beautiful Read: Emily Evans turns up the heat in this AMAZING story. Sax and Aria’s hot chemistry drew me right in. The tension kept me reading ‘til morning. Really, I couldn’t put this book down.

    Enjoy

I knew exactly what I was getting going into this book and it wasn’t excellence. It was quick to read. I’d never re-read it but sometimes you just want a badly written YA romance

I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I prefer cleaner romances but the storyline and characters were so engaging that I just had to keep reading. It was worth it.

    Hahahahaha
The amount of kissing in this book.... Oh my sister would be appalled.... Oh it was great - It really was - I guess Rock Stars like it dirtier? That sounded waay more perverse than I intended.... None the less -
When Sax's creepy, stalker, model, ex-girlfriend pulls one insane stunt too many, he has to lay low for a little while, during her free-range/psycho phase. So he gets a haircut, pops out those contacts and honors his mother by using his real birth-name, Tyler. This time, we're the ones who go to Texas and endure the humble life, only to find a super hot, talented and passionate girl (with a tight butt, we never fail to mention) immediately at our disposal there's only one thing to do - start a hot summer romance. DUH!
Blah blah blah - Tight Butt's ex-boyfriend, blah blah - psycho ex-girlfriend, blah blah blah embarrassing condom-talk, blah blah, misunderstanding cleared up, blah blah cameo appearances of Garret, Caz, Max and Marissa, blah blah 'Let's start a band!' blah blah, secret identity revealed, blah kissing, blah blah resolve, blah more kissing.

    ...
You just read Accidental Rock Star. Pretty much.

It was a good 'Fun, YA romance' the cover didn't lie, although I almost forgot where this series started. It's almost like this book was #1 on it's own and Accidental Billionaire is its sequel.

But seriously go for it, if you are looking for something lighter and in between. If read in the right frame of mind, you can enjoy all the girly-stomach flutters. :)

Thank you for reading this review - ya really didn't have to. Was I helpful? Did you laugh a few times? Snort? Roll your eyes? We're you convinced by my review and the one above this that this isn't the book for you? No? Yes?

    Mmk then...

Ah, crazy stalkers... such trouble, but hey, look where that landed Sax- in luuurv! I find it hilarious the fact that he was put in band and that they started a garage band- a kind of good-natured slap in the face of sorts to the multi-platinum artist, lol. It was nice to see the famous rock star get taken down a peg or two and come out of his comfort zone to learn how to live like a normal person. I loved Aria- she was such feisty character and would take no shit from Tyler, before OR after she found out he was an actual rock star. Her passion for music was clear and they meshed so well together as a couple.

The ending... wow! I hope that what Sax/Tyler said on that stage holds true, because that would be amazing for all of them! I hope we'll see more books along these lines from Emily Evans! I hear rumors of another story (Baylee's entitled "Accidental Billionaire") that supposedly came out Summer 2015, but I can't find it anywhere!?! Also, there's supposed to be an Adult Rock Star series she's writing under pen name Aylee Bay, but again there is no news to be found!?! What's going on...???????

    5/26/2016
    I found
Accidental Billionaire!! It was published January 29th 2016... Reading it now, but if anyone knows anything about the Adult Rock Star series, do let me know!!

There's something about Emily Evans' writing I like. I'm not sure what it is. Perhaps it's the breeziness of it, the casual telling of the story without over explanation. Her books are not chock full of sex scenes, with leaves us with romance. In this story, rock star Sax from the previous "Accidental" novels is hiding out in Accidental TV Star's Marissa's hometown because he has been threatened and kidnapped. He of course falls for a local band girl and music lover. As in all of Evans' books, the plot can be a little strange at times (there's this entire emphasis on a giant plastic alligator), but overall I liked it. The creation of a immediately successful garage band over a scant few weeks seems even more unbelievable than the possibility that Ashley's non-union scenes would make it into a legit film, but taking it just as it is it is entertaining.

  • Main Character Energy

    3 and half stars.
    Good but a overused storyline/plot.

Lets just get one think straight. I did enjoy this book. I've read all the others in the series and really enjoyed them but I find this one very predictable and a little on the boring side. It's written well and the story flows smoothly I just didn't find it exciting at all.

I will however still recommend it to others. Its a good book but if you're a little tight for cash probably not the best book to buy. Its not over priced but I just don't think its worth buying if your looking for something amazing to read and really get into.
The relationships and characters are okay and some are even likeable BUT I was never drawn into the story or felt emotionally connected to the main characters.

    Good, but not great.

    3.3
I kind of liked how flirty Tyler was with Aria. Ironically I hated myself for it sometimes too XD
Their chemistry was little but steamy. The part I like the most is when he sing and look at only her <3 And I also like how the author mention other characters like Max, Caz and Garret. Tylers conversation with them was funny and idiotic and funny :D
Like the first book I wish this one also was longer!!!! Because there was some stuffs that was unclear which made it stay a mystery you could say, like; what happened to Gina the crazy stalker!?

PS! One of the last chapter has an embarrassing moment but later gets better

How I feel about this book:

  • Debbie is on Storygraph

The last book in the Accidental series is very very different from the others. For one, it takes place not in Hollywood. Thank god. This allowed for some character development and plot interactions that the others lacked. Also, finally we learned what the hell is going on with Sax.

Though the timeline for Gina's stalking isn't quite solid and I think if I re-read the books carefully, I'd find some contradictions.

I liked this one the most of the series, for it's more normal setting. Sax and Aria showed the most depth out of any of the characters, and I enjoyed that.

  • Jennifer

So, I liked the story and always love a good rock star/movie star in disguise at school plot, but of the Evans Accidental storires, this one was my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed the romance and the writing, but Sax did get on my nerves more than the other characters from the previous films. Part of it was likely because he kept slipping back into the rock star persona that he started with, and I wanted him to get over himself just a wee bit more.

  • Vicki

Don't normally do reviews but I just had to say this book gave me mixed feelings. The lead male was a total arrogant rockstar but the way he was written made it hard to hate him. The things he said and did for Aria made it seem kind of unrealistic considering she was just in high school.I think if the characters were set in a college situation it may have been a bit more believable and Aria a little bit more likeable. In saying that I did enjoy the story.....

  • Virginia McDowell

I enjoy the accidental series. This one is another that is a cute read. While not stellar in the yeah it could actually happen, but cute in the Cinderella type story. A girl meets a rock-star in disguise and he learns the value of love and living an everyday life, verse the public life. Along with showing his friends and he doesn't forget them when he returns to his life. Overall, a cute story. I liked it.

  • Frances

Wow, really a good one! I wonder if this is the end of the series since the 4 celebs she initially introduced got their girls or if EE will continue the series by expanding each of the 4 stories or introducing new guys. Either way, I look forward to a next read from this author.

    Happy readings!

  • Devz Milady

Of all the Accidental series, I liked this one best.

Sax is interesting and I like the way he initially went all full-on-gimme-you mode and then toned it down for Aria.

Aria is also smart and perky and stands up to Sax's larger than life persona.

Overall, this is much more fun and I would recommend this one if you'd like to pick up an Accidental series novel.

  • Karen

Super cute high school aged book about a world weary Rockstar who needs to hide out from the world. Very far fetched (or is it?). The small town is very different for Tyler and makes for some surprising lessons and fun with Lizard themes. Tyler learns more than they learn from him and Aria is the best takeaway he gets. The pacing and development of story went well. Fun.

This book really got me hooked. I couldn't put it down (typical Emily Evans book). I do think this one was the best out of the series. YEY. And I kind of am biased, because this one has a rockstar ;D

  • Madeline Claire

You know I am a sucker for all things Hollywood romance. So, if you like that genre, then I suggest you read all of Emily Evans books.
    Cute, short read.

  • Elizabeth

I didn't like this one as much as the previous ones. I felt like there was more swearing, which I didn't appreciate.

    3.5 Stars - I wish I could give more, but....nope.
