The Art of Planting Reviews
-
Every gardener needs a dozen or so inspirational books, and this is a terrific one. While I wouldn't hope to achieve Verey's classic English perennial border effects, her use of color and shape is inspiring. She does give many planting suggestions, as the title suggests, though I inevitably found that many of the plants used were simply ones that don't do well in my area. However, the many stunning photos in this book combined with Verey's encyclopedic knowledge of garden plants makes this a great resource even for those just hoping to put a few plants together in a complimentary manner.

Rosemary Verey has simple clear ideas on how to plan a beautiful space for your yard. Great ideas on color combinations and designs. Excellent reference.
