The Children's Illustrated Treasury of Christmas Carols \u0026 Stories Reviews
-
I was planning on reading this throughout the month and into December, kind of like a short story a night, but I ended up devouring all one-hundred-and-ninety-nine pages of it in just one sitting.
I sincerely enjoyed this treasury of carols and stories for a handful of reasons:-
1. Always been a fan of Christmas and traditions from around the world, always will be, so the subject matter appealed greatly to me.
2. It was a big slap of nostalgia in my face with the carols I sang in my youth at choir. And yes, I sang them out loud.
3. All of the excerpts from classic novels such as Little Women, Wind in the Willows, A Christmas Carol to name a few were perfect accompaniment to the many short stories.
4. Oh the illustrations! They were really the flames on the Christmas pudding. The art style was amazing and I might buy a second copy to take some prints out of to frame - that is how much I loved the illustrations.
