Big flap book for babies to play peek a boo with.

"Through the window I can see ... Peepo puppy! Play with me."

A sweet little board book that thoroughly lives up to the subtitle Big flaps for little babies to turn. A real favourite with Baby Adam.
We encountered this book at the book swap at Oxford rail station, which usually only has books on flower arranging and microwave cooking. Baby Adam fell in love with the cover and instantly wanted to read it. We didn't have any money for the book swap that day, but I made sure to go and get this special book the next morning when I was on the train again on the way to hospital in Daventry. I think it was the best thing I did that day.
This gentle board book shows a range of children of different ethnicities playing and finding toys and pets nearby. The flaps are carefully designed to suit tiny baby hands. "See the pretty flowers grow! Peepo kitten! Say 'Hello'."For such a short book, there is even a sense of the child's day, from a morning and afternoon full of play, to fun at bath-time and finishing in bed. It was very sweet, and earned its star-rating alone based on Baby Adam's reaction when I brought the book home.

Picked up in a charity shop and is a good book for on the go!

It's a canny little book this and has really sturdy flaps for even very small children to move. It's not the greatest story in the world (for adults) but my daughter liked turning the flaps and some thought has been put in to the shape of them so they're interesting shapes. My favourite one is the last one where the baby ends up covered with its duvet. It would be a good last story before bedtime.
