Excellent guide! Detailed maps, color pictures, great information about how to find the trailheads and what you'll see while hiking. Can't wait to get out there and try some of these hikes!

I read and reviewed an earlier edition of this book. This version, published 10 years later in 2010, has a few updates but largely is the same as the earlier edition. The review I posted of the earlier edition (and which still applies to the revised one) was: "The UP is an awesome place to hike, backpack, or camp with its thick forests, Great Lakes shorelines, and high hills with awesome vistas. This book, though from 2005, gives fairly accurate descriptions of a number of representative trails int he region. You'll probably need larger topo maps to supplement the trails, but beyond that, it's an excellent guidebook."
