Garfield Vol. 4 Reviews

DISCLAIMER: I've been a Garfield fan for as long as I can remember, so, this review is likely to be biased. If you're one of those people like the infamous Maddox who can't stand the Tubby Tabby, why are you even reading this review?

Since his debut nearly forty-two years ago, Garfield has appeared in multiple television shows, movies, video games, and countless other products. Personally, I've always preferred the earlier strips, especially the long story sequences; the one where the Tubby Tabby had a bout of amnesia made me laugh out loud the first time I read it. Now, the lasagna-loving feline has his own comic book series as well; better yet, these are original stories, not just rehashes of old newspaper strips. This is as cute and funny as you'd expect, with plenty of gags that break the fourth wall. It's also rather clean-cut as well.

However, the one thing I did quibble with was the artwork. Though mostly true to Jim Davis' usual style, some of the artwork was weird; one of the stories had drawings that barely even resembled the characters as fans like me have come to know them. While I'm all for original stories, the strips already have great art; don't fix what isn't broke!

    Fun Garfield comic

This is just a fun comic collection of Garfield. There is a variation of the art. It wasn't bad just different. As a big fan of Garfield I really enjoyed it.

Not as bad as the last couple books but still pretty bad. Some of the pictures are horrible. They barely even look like the characters they are supposed to depict. Then there was a story in this book that was almost identical to a story in one of the previous books. I thought it was the same one at first and it was just used in a couple different books but it was slightly different. I don’t understand how it even got published since it was so similar to the other story. I love Garfield but these books are horrible. They just use the Garfield name to make people more money even though they’re publishing awful books. I do not recommend these books.
