The Mammoth Book Of Best New Manga Reviews

  • Gavin

Western manga fans lifting the tropes of manga, doing nothing new. (How could they do something new, if they're faithfully imitating a merely geographical category of comics?)

It might have had some meaning if they'd said "shonen manga" or "battle manga" or whatever. As it is it's The Mammoth Book of Best New Non-Japanese Japanese Comics.

    Super quirky, I loved it

  • The Local Spooky Hermit

most of the stories don't look that good and others that i have read are pretty meh or bland. some aren't even really in the style of manga at all. and the ones i did like seem to cut off too soon or the rest of the story not in this book are written in another language. A very low 3 stars close to 2. I'd stick to the Rising Stars in Manga series that collects new artists. I don't even think they make that anymore though.

A nice book that has many different styles of drawing and storytelling that introduce you to many different aspiring artists and authors.

    Quite an enjoyable collection!
