Future Tense: Eleven First-In-Series Young Adult SciFi Novels Reviews
-
Definitely for the young adult reader. However many of the stories were good enough to hold the attention of the senior reader and several I may continue reading the series. Only one story was too firmly aimed at young adults that I skipped the novel after a few chapters. I recommend this book for all those who enjoy SciFi with young characters.

OVERALL:
Susan Kaye Quinn's OPEN MINDS - 2.5 Stars
Kira Moore is a zero, she cannot communicate telepathically and link minds with all of the people around her. She is looked down on by the rest of society and is a social pariah. The day she meets Simon everything changes. Kira realizes that she is actually a mind jacker and can get other people to do what she wants, not only that but she is more powerful than most other jackers making her that much more dangerous to everyone.
Interesting concept for the future of evolutionary change where people no longer have to talk to one another. Kinda makes you think about what your brain can do.
I was interested in the story at first but it quickly became boring for me. There was too much going on in such a short period of time that I started to lose interest in what was actually happening.
Vincent Trigil's THE ENEMY OF AN ENEMY
Anthea Sharp's FEYLAND: THE DARK REALM - 3 Stars
When lines are blurred between reality and gaming, Tam Linn discovers that a game can turn into a different realm making him the hero of the show. As his world is turned upside down (for the better) Tam is tasked with helping the rich-girl Jennet pushing their limited in the Dark Realm of the Fairyland.
The world building the author is able to create was fun and inventive with the characters flowing in and adding to the concept. I thought the rich girl, poor boy kind of thing was a little overdone with the characters styles but overall I found them to be well developed.
