An Amish Country Treasure (Amish Country Treasure #1) Reviews

It was cute. But, it just stopped!! It was the first book that left you hanging and you need to read the second to find out what happens.
-
I’ve read a lot of bizarre Amish fiction this past year but whew, this was one of the weirdest.

Lancaster County. Jacob King (husband/father, blacksmith) questioned
Mark Christner (17) about spending so much time over at their house seeing Jemima “Mima” King (narrator).
Rachel King (wife/mother) laughed at Jacob for teasing him.
Deborah “Debby” King (younger sister) is part of the family also.
It seems Samuel Kauffman & Joseph Beiler have their eyes on Jemima also.
Brad Williams (Ledger-Inquirer reporter) told Delores Watkins he had a story for the newspaper.
It seems Satterwhite Gift Shop (Marietta) had something very unique in their possession.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written Amish mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Amish mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

I only gave this book 3 stars because it ended on a cliffhanger and that REALLY irritates me if it's not noted in the book description. What a nice way to lure me into buying your other books!
Was it just a few chapters? Is it an incomplete short story? No clue.
The story itself, so far, is thought out and well written. The writer knows about Amish customs, or did her research well. The book did not have any glaring spelling or grammar errors, which did please me a lot - until the end. -
I selected this book from Kindle Unlimited because I needed a book set close to me geographically for one of the Goodreads challenges. Romance novelettes all have the same plot. Two people like each other, will they fall in love before a third - or in this case, a fourth - person complicates things? The book was ok. It was also so short. It was more like an intro to a book or simply the beginning couple chapters, but not the whole book itself.
There were some flaws too. It is rare a 16 year old Amish girl would have been that scared of English or reporters. Amish do actually get their photos taken from time to time for various reasons. The reporter would have never sneaked around to see the young Amish girl as he did. He would have met with her father, and spoke man to man with the daughter in the room.
For a story, it was ok. For what I needed, it was great. For what I expected, it was disappointing. -
This is quite a short book - shorter than I expected really. I'm quite interesting in the Amish culture and way of life, so thought I would give this book a go. The premise of the story was quite good, I thought, where an Amish lady finds something that is quite possibly worth a lot of money. This is quite a light hearted story and easy to read. It didn't take me long to read the book at all. I don't normally read books like this, but I found this a light-hearted and easy book to read.
I shall try the other books in the series and see what they are like. -
A nice conclusion to the series.
As I mentioned in the previous book reviews, some of the intimacy she shared with her beaus seemed a little over the top for her upbringing, but otherwise, a sweet story. -
Good Read
I really enjoyed reading your book. It was nice to read something different than the usual love story . Even though yours has love in it , it has a story plot. I couldn't quit reading till I finished all of it. Looking forward to reading part 'll. -
Amazing!!!!
Every time I find another Amish book written by Ruth Price, I am ecstatic! This new series promises to be another one of those "can't put it down" set of books! -
Young Amish woman finds a letter from President Goerge Washington to his beloved Martha. When she is approached by a journalist/publisher, she has the option to have it publicized, which would make her and her family very wealthy.

Very well written story. The imagery and details draw the reader in and the storyline is realistic. Great, flowing, easy read.

Nice Story
What a nice Amish story. Very interesting characters. I was engrossed in the plot but sad that It was a huge cliffhanger -
Cute
Cute beginning of a story of an Amish girl seeking romance. She's pulled in several directions by her inability to decide between her suitors, her Amish values and a treasure. -
Jemima is about to finish school and begin courting, but with several local boys lining up, she doesn’t know where to start. Good Amish boys are not hard to find, but they are not the only ones interrupting her tranquil life on the farm. When she buys a second-hand clock as a present for her sister she unravels a sequence of actions that begin to change her life completely, bringing with them an outsider who declares his interest in her.
This is a sweet book, and although it’s very different from the books that I usually read; I really enjoyed it. Jemima is a sound character, naïve and gentle, and the plot is simple but effective. I would have liked it to be longer, but it’s a good start to the series. -
I feel just like Susan Jenkins sorry at least make it a trilogy. Don't stop half way into the story.
May 01, 2016 Susan Jenkins (Tely) rated it liked it

Ruth Price has written a book that will have you laughing. If you enjoy fictional books about the Amish, and short stories this is a book for you. It is only 80 pages long but it does come with a sneak peak of the second book in the series.
Mima is at the age when she can have suitors and suitors she certainly has. But who to chose, Mark, Samuel or Joseph. But that is not her only thing to worry about. She has bought a clock and it may hold something of value. But what should she do?
This is the first book in the series. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in the story. -
This is an exciting read with more substance than most Amish stories. An old paper falls out of a clock just bought by jemima. When the paper turns out to be very valyable, her life becomes very complicated and troubling
