Parker wonders how much his stepmother, Abby, has influenced his father’s final wishes. Although Abby has been a part of his life for years, her goals for the ranch are different from he wants to keep it a working cattle ranch; she wants to convert it to a dude ranch. All Parker wants is to continue his way of life—running the Montana ranch until the day he dies, just like his father.

The last thing he expects the day of his father’s funeral is for life to throw him another curveball—a red-headed, no-nonsense, curveball named Reba Morris.

Having recently relocated to Montana, Rebekah (Reba) Morris decides to do the neighborly thing and help out at the Rankin home when everyone gathers after John Rankin’s funeral. With her late husband’s passing several months earlier on her mind, she knows how difficult it can be handling the small things, so she hopes the Rankins will be appreciative of her neighborly efforts.

What Reba doesn’t expect, however, is a glimpse into a cool and aloof—albeit sexy— Montana rancher’s personal life. A glimpse that both intrigues and stops her in her tracks. She came to Montana to heal and focus on the next phase of her life. The last thing she wants is to fall in love.

Parker was one character whose story I wasn't sure I was going to like. He ended up being my favorite character. Probably because the author made him so real. His actions, reactions and choices were those of an regular kind of guy.

    An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Parker: The Montana McKennas (The Montana Ranchers Book 4), all about Parker McKenna the first born of James McKenna & Reba Morris his new neighbor who bought the Crandall's 120 acres & cottage that borders his ranch property. Parker meet Reba in his kitchen the day in buried his dad, and though he wasn't looking he was very attracted to her! Reba was busy shredding a salad in a bowl, when the hottest cowboy in tight rangler jeans showed up. He introduced himself as Parker McKenna and she introduced herself as his new neighbor, and both of their tongues were set to wagging. The author wrote a very incredible and amazing series about a family that sticks together through thick and thin. Read this series and fall in love with each of the four siblings. You will not be able to put this series down, because I started reading this series on Wednesday of this week and haven't stopped reading yet! I can't wait to read about Mercer the youngest in book 5.

Maddie James is one of my favorite sweet romance writers. James McKenna has passed away and Parker has no idea what his dad has left in his will. Will he deed his part of the Ranch to his step mother Liz to add to the dude Ranch or will his mother's part of the land which he ranches on continue to remain in his hands.

After the service for his dad everyone comes back to his house and his new neighbor Reba, is in his kitchen taking care of all the dishes and making salad, They meet and there is an instant connection. Later she leaves to go home and runs into a deer right down the lane from his home. Parker rescues her from the wreck and the rest we shall say is history.

This is really a sweet read that left me in tears in parts. Love Maddie James. For me, she is always a go to author when i want something sweet but romantic to read.
