First of all, I want to thank M.C. Frank for sending me a review copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

I first loved the book when I saw the cover. Seriously, isn’t it a gorgeous one ? Then, I’ve read the synopsis and immediately understood that all my favorite classic authors would be finally reunited in one book. I couldn’t leave behind the opportunity to fall in love with them and their characters once again. That’s why, as soon as I got the copy, I couldn’t help but read it. It was such a pleasure to rediscover my favorite stories such as Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights or The Importance of Being Earnest. But I have also read for the first time some beautiful love declarations like Evelina by Frances Burney and The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emma Orczy. All these declarations make me want to re-read the books or discover the whole story. Honestly, this collection is like candy for bibliophiles. This contains all the most beautiful love declarations and the strongest and the most wonderful characters that we can find in literature. Moreover, there are stories for everyone as there are not only novel but also theater excerpts. This is the perfect blend to discover or rediscover great authors and their most important works.
I really encourage you to read this one !

Introducing Book Candy Classics. They're fun They're gorgeous They're new! Sink your teeth into your favorite story and discover new ones to swoon over! “You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” This is the beginning of one of the most famous literary proposals of all time and the first in this anthology of the most romantic, poignant and colorful love declarations found in classic and modern literature. From spurned lovers to love letters pleading for a long-forgotten romance, this lovely book will remind you of your favorite literary couples and introduce you to new ones. So again I'm not normally a romance reader and I continue to be a disgrace to the bookstagram community by admitting I've never read Pride and Prejudice or any of the beautifully written romance classics, but this was why I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book! This is not a retelling or anything, this book is a collection of chapters from various famous classics containing love scenes, proposals, declarations, etc. I love how this book is put together and I love how this can be a quick reference guide to your favorite scenes. This can also be a great introductory book for readers to find new classics to read! It's a quick read, you can skip around to find the stories your heart desires at the moment, and you can find new couples to swoon over.
The only "bad" thing about this book is that it doesn't tell you what books the stories are from until the end of the chapter. I think putting the book title at the beginning of the chapter would be less confusing, but overall I immensely enjoyed this book and I'll read bits and pieces of it for years to come.

First of all, I want to thank M. C. Frank for providing this book to me in exchange for an honest review. You are the best!

Where do I begin? I’ve been reviewing books for this author for a while now, and let me tell you, she never stops to surprise me. The writing style is exquisite, the scenes absolutely beautiful, enveloping you in the world of the book with pure authenticity.

With her love for classics, and especially Darcy and Elizabeth, the author did an amazing job with this book. The declarations are stunning and they picture scenes that send you that warm feeling on the inside. I have to be honest now, I haven’t read all the classics from which the scenes are from, but I understood everything that was going on, it wasn’t only a scene pulled out from the book and put in your face. With no context. Every scene is a moment captured in time, carefully wrapped around and presented as a gift to the reader.

This book is a gathering of all best romantic scenes , like a collection of short stories of declarations of love. I got the hype for classics because of this book and somehow I don t feel out of the blue anymore when it comes to classics I haven’t read and iconic moments in literature, I have a slight glimpse of what is happening without being spoiled.

I bet we all know that feeling while reading a book when we are waiting and waiting for that major moment to happen. In this book, every short story ( declaration ) felt as if it was the central moment of the book. Every declaration makes you scream “FINALLY, I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN”. Just that the entire book is like this, story by story and line by line.

You will find yourself hugging the book from time to time, let me tell you. You will find comfort in it and you won’t ever want to let go.

I want to start off with a huge thank you to M.C. Frank for sending me a copy to review! This book pleased me from inside-out. The cover is absolutely gorgeous with the colors and the silhouette and the font. Sorry, I could rant about the beautiful cover all day. As a bookstagrammer, it’s a small thing I appreciate. Now let’s talk about the actual content. I haven’t really read anything like this, and I’ve read a lot of books in my life. A book that’s entirely made up of swoon-worthy, romantic moments? Brillant! I loved M.C. Frank’s choices in which novels/authors to include in Darcy and Elizabeth. From Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, Louisa May Alcott, Oscar Wilde, Emily Bronte, Charles Dickens, and many more, there’s quite the selection! Darcy and Elizabeth has also introduced me to new authors that I’m excited to look into. M.C. Frank’s decisions of how much of each story to include was spot on. It was enough background to understand what was happening and enough to get attached to the characters, but not too much where there was a lot of extra content. It was interesting seeing how many different people dealt with their love situations and how they got into that position. This was a book that I could just read a chapter, let it sit, pick it up a few days later, and have no problems remembering what was going on. I actually was traveling around Europe when I was reading Darcy and Elizabeth, and it was the perfect book to read while on the move. Darcy and Elizabeth was a fun journey into the love lives of many characters and was a great book to read while busy.

I got a free e book copy of Darcy & Elizabeth in order to review it but after reading a few pages I just bought the paperback because I had to have it on my shelves. M.C. Frank collected in one book the most famous love declarations from classic and modern literature and yes indeed it is.The scenes are touching and I met a lot of new characters from books I didn't read before but have on my list since ages. Wuthering Heights is one of them. The exciting part is that you find out from which book it is after the excerpt is finished. You can look before but I found it more fun to guess from which book it could be and at the end of the book are all authors with a few information about them listed. Frank altered without loosing the origin of the language and writing style of the author the stories so it is easier understood. Some scenes are longer and some really short but it is always enough to convey what needs to be understood without being spoiled about the whole plot. It had the effect on me that I'm more than curious to read the whole book now and needless to say my list grew again. This book is a gem and must have for all the romantic lover.

Tavsiyemdir.))

This book is a beautiful collection of declarations of love from some of the greatest works of fiction. It is an ideal book for literature lovers who can't get enough of beautiful romantic prose. In this book I found many of my favorite scenes, all in one place. It's the perfect book to read before bed; indulge in your favorite romantic passages before dreaming of your own Mr Darcy.
The only reason I'm subtracting a star is because it would be nice to have the full bibliographic reference, preferably at the beginning of the excerpt, especially for the stories I didn't know.
You may argue that you already own your favorite books, why would you need this collection? Well, besides the straightforward simplicity of having all these couples at your finger tips, it is also an absolutely stunning book. The cover (like all M.C. Frank covers) is gorgeous, and is begging to brighten up your bookshelf! I feel no shame in admitting that I do judge books by their covers, and this book is love at first sight!

Just one word comes to my mind after reading this book...BRILLIANT! Why has no-one done this before? This book brought back all the feels from some of my favorite books & I was pleasantly surprised on a few that I have not had the pleasure to read yet. I now see a trip to my local bookstore in my near future to pick up these literary gems! I truly enjoyed reading this book! If you have ever found yourself fast forwarding to your favorite scenes in a movie or flipping through a book to find that one part that makes you heart soar, then you HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! It will bring ALL THE FEELS (trust me)! I'm now going to raid my DVD collection to find these scenes on screen (So Excited!!!) What a Great Read! Highly Recommend!

is from: Darcy and Elizabeth (Paperback)

Although this is not a new love story about Darcy and Elizabeth it brings together several excerpts from the classics to help you relive the excitement of the love stories. Well researched for us to enjoy the love stories without having to read each one in their entirety but giving us the opportunity to go back and read them if they capture our imagination again by showing which book to read again in it's entirety. I got caught up in each excerpt like it was the first time reading them and appreciate the time put into pulling these stories together. I will certainly be reading several of these again like new friends I haven't heard from in a while.
