So bad, it makes me cringe.

I wish I could un-read this book? But the sad part is, I don't like jumping to conclusions about a story from the very beginning so I give it the benefit of doubt by reading till the end. And god, was this terrible. Not only the muddled up plotting- there was no legitimate storyline- but the characters were like cardboard cutouts, no depth whatsoever.

To make matters worse, the grammar.

Obviously, English isn't the author's forte, but if you're writing a fucking book wouldn't you at least have a basic knowledge of the language. I don't even know how it has so many reads and votes, because I have read some really good books on this site which deserve so much attention but then books like these sideline them due the presence of an overwhelming majority of teenaged girls with wild fantasies of a brooding CEO who has "Greek God" looks.

Fuck this shit, out of here.

This is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that’s not possible, so I give you a one.

  • F

Towards the end, I felt like all the plot details and drama was forced and unnecessary and sometimes the characters acted stupid and annoying..

    The blurb from Wattpad:
    Meet Jade.
The girl who wore a black wig, black-rimmed big eyeglasses and braces. She was dressed in her worn-out knitted coat and shapeless vintage clothes. Everyone thought that she was a weirdo, a nerd or a girl resurrected from the past. She was used to be the laughing stock of everyone.

But who was really Jade Collins? Why did she hide her real outer beauty? What happened when her boss, the great Eros Petrakis, finally noticed her? Could she tame the beast inside him?

    Meet Eros.
The man who had everything in life. Devilishly handsome, very powerful, brilliant, extremely rich, and had a body that women loved to worship. But, despite all that positive attributes, he was also very ruthless, tyrant, cold and heartless. He was his colleagues’ and enemies’ worst nightmare. They thought his name was another four-letter word of EVIL. He never smiled; never said ‘please’ and never apologized for his mistakes. His employees feared him most. He fired them in just a snap of his fingers.

What made him finally noticed Jade? How would he react when he sees the beautiful woman behind the big black wig and dark-rimmed eyeglasses?

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I found this fanfic or story or unpublished-book or whatever you call it, by accident on Wattpad. I haven’t read fanfictions in forever, and I saw this fanfic/unpublished-book was pretty popular, so I thought, why not?

Honestly I found the story very intriguing. Every chapter made me curious and it was indeed a page turner. But since I’m used to read published-books that have been through lots of editing process, reading a fanfic/unpublished-book with HORRIBLE GRAMMAR really drives me insane!!!
    description

It’s so clear that English is not the author’s first language. It seems like she doesn’t even know the difference between “Thank God” and “Thanks God”
    description

There were also some foreign languages in this story, like French and German. And according to the comments from the native speakers, the grammars of those languages are also wrong. LOL google translate much??
    description

Seriously I would have rated this 4 - 4.5 Stars if it’s written in good English.

And the writing style, I don’t like it when the author’s mentioning something, she keeps putting “etc” in the end of the sentence. And it happens in more than 1 sentence consecutively.
    description

I know my grammar isn’t that good either, but come on! You’re an author! And I heard this fanfic will be published into book too soon. I just hope the published-book won’t be this horrible.

The characters were okay. Although most of the time Eros, the hero was so annoying, but in the end he finally grew up.
Jade was a very hardworking girl. I liked her even though sometimes she seems so vulnerable.

Aside from the grammar, I found this story was really interesting. Just when I thought the plot would get worse, the author surprised me by making it better in the next chapter good

If you have a strong heart and you don’t mind with lots of grammatical errors, you should definitely read this !
But if you are a grammar nazi that your heart is too fragile to handle horrible grammar, you’d better wait until the book is published. LOL

I miałam rację.
Styl potoczny i wszelkie odpowiedzi typu 'no' powodowało u mnie zgrzytanie zębami.

    General Reaction for this story:

~Now some things about this story. I absolutely loved everything about this story. From the start to the finish. It also had some quotes too at the start of each chapter which i loved almost all of them. And the plot was intriguing and simple and mostly worth reading. All in all,you could see that the writer of this story had spent a lot of time and effort to make it.
~The characters....Mr. Eros Petrakis you have been listed as one of my dream men. This man is so damn perfect!

And Jade is a very good person, loyal to her family,ok she had made mistakes but she tried to move on until she met HIM! and her world went almost upside down and not only her world...She is a really good hearted person after what she had been through.

By the way not forget to mention that i also liked the dual pov's in this story. You know Jade's then Ero's, Ero's then Jade's. We could see the facts from different perceptions. And that was pretty good.

To sum up,i loved that story. And it was my first Wattpad story. I have high expectations now for the other stories i will read on this site. *crossing my fingers* . Ah, well,I hope one day the writer will make a second story about Eros,Jade and their cute son Zion.

    Ta ksiazka to jakieś jaja.

  • za_pomniane

Ta "książka" to nieśmieszny żart. Bohaterowie płascy i głupi.

I finished the book a while ago and I'm here to say a couple of things.

The book was entertaining, I can't say no to that. I had some issues, though, with it that justifies my rating.

    1.
There was some character development, I can't disagree but I think it could be written better. (not a big issue for me) and sometimes the characters were acting childish. (not a real big issue for me)

    description
    2.
    The drama.
Oh God the DRAMA! The book was nice and refreshing, and after a certain point...

Overall, it had nice moments. I liked the light moments but I don't get it why writers do not finish a few chapters earlier a book, to avoid things that are hardly needed.

  • Kiiki.Books

Eh od czego by tu zacząć…

O! Okładkę ma też bardzo ładną! I chyba tyle.

Niestety nie mogą dać 0, więc daje 1
No cóż, w życiu nie czytałam bardziej crindżowej książki. Podczas czytania aż mnie wykrecało, ból stawał się fizyczny.
Wiecie, ja też miałam 12 lat i pisałam sobie jakieś opowiadania. Tylko ja miałam 12 lat i chowalam je do szuflady. A to zostało opublikowane.
Nice.
No i oczywiście są puste!

To all those romantic softies out there, this one is a must-read story! It made me cry, smile and blush all along the entire story.

Jade, a beautiful girl who hid behind large rimmed glasses and loose-fitted clothes, had a past known only to her sister and mother, which made her get branded as a nerd and weirdo. Who really was she? What is the reason behind her transition from a carefree pretty girl to a nerdy one?

Eros, extremely handsome, rich and powerful business man, who is hard-hearted, unmoving, ruthless person. His employees feared him and his enemies had qualms to cross him. Everything about him screamed ‘Evil’.

    The Girl He Never Noticed-sweetdreamer33

Eros, employer of Jade, saw through her. What made him look through her disguises, at her pretty face and heart? Eros had never felt something like this in his life before. He wanted to keep her with him, so he gave her the most unexpected job of making coffee for him in his house whenever he required. Jade made him change his rude attitude and struggled not to fall for his handsome face. Being new to this feeling, he did not know how to handle himself and went on to hurt her in the process.

Will they express their love for each other? Will the past come stalking to them?

A story of anticipation mixed with good proportions of romance making the reader wanting more of Jade and Eros

  • Devika

Jade and Eros. One couple I love to death. It is a beautiful love story of two people who come from two different ends. It is one of my favourite books on Wattpad.
I really loved the part where he realises that Jade is indeed Ginger. And Zion, that was so very unexpected and shocking. Eros's reaction to Zion was really cute. I am so glad that she has decided to continue the book about their life after marriage. A must read.

  • maddy

One the most popular 2015(?) reads on wattpad. Angsty and cliché Cinderella soap opera with a Christian Grey-wannabe prince charming.
Toxic relationship. Alpha-hole H x nerdy and doormat virginal h, rich x poor, boss x employee, OP drama llama, secret baby, second chance, sad backstory, et al.

I think with lotsssss of edit, this would be a good harlequin book. 🙂
It's been years and I still remember the story tho, so 2 stars for that.

  • natix

    absolutna tragedia

Only reason it’s so high is because it was one of the first books I read. Now re-reading it I realize how bad it was💀

  • Edina Memić

it's 3.5*. Book is really really good, but I think the ending is rushed, in 3-4 chapters she wrote more than in whole book. And Zyon? What the heck? but all in all a very good plot and I would definitely read a part two, I need to know what happens with all of them

  • Teodora Koleva

    3,5*

I read this book a few years ago on Wattpad and I thought that it was good

  • Neffa 🍑✨

I remember reading this on Wattpad back in 2015 and I absolutely loved it. I read it everywhere, on the bus, at school, and I stayed up all night reading it because I was so hooked to this book and the romance involved.

But that was back when I LIVED for clichés.

Looking back on this book and adding it to my ‘read’ list a couple years after reading it, when I look back I realise just how all over the place the plot was.
If you were to combine Cinderella and The Fifty Shades Of Grey, intertwined with horrible writing and a chuck load of clichés; this would be it.
The (in quotation marks) “plot twists”, that were added in an attempt to add drama at the very end of this mediocre book, as other reviews have stated, felt forced, and I don’t understand how this book got so popular

(maybe from young teens who don’t understand the concept of actual good writing, unfortunately including my past self... -shiver-)

  • rachel (parcbatai)

love this book!!! im so happy that its being publisher into a real book. the story progressed really well and i could connect to the characters. i loved how eros and jades relationship built up thru the chapters and how they keep on denying that they like each other. sometimes i just wanna pull all my hair out cos seriously some of the things that eros and jade does is just so ughh. eros does not believe in love while jade is afraid to take the first step bcos of what happened btwn her and joseph. but seriously jade? whos boss would buy you flowers, fetch you from your home to work, buy you stuff and be all protective and bring you to see his family if he isnt in love with you. it was obvious tbh but nope jade doesnt get it. ok at least she got it in the end!!

  • Jane

Came across this book at Wattpad. Synopsis sounds so interesting that I decide to give it a go. Girl name Jade who wore wig, boring clothes and thick black glasses to conceal her appearance. People picked on her thinking that she's an easy target and weirdo girl. Things changed for her when the day she met this rich boy name Eros.

Plot is interesting but there's some errors in names typos. And the drifting from one scene to another somehow confuse me. The ending seems rush and push to me. It's like putting everything into one.

But, I'm looking forward to book 2. Cos too many things are not solved.

  • Cozytimebooks_
